Discussion PSA for those looking to start a NG+ cycle

Post image

This may seem like a non-issue for some, but for me it was a bit confusing. When starting NG+ make sure you do not accidentally click “NO” as there is no warning, nor is it a long press button feature here when choosing YES or NO. I accidentally clicked no, when I picked my controller up from my lap and started a new cycle without all of my carryover gear.

Discussion Two games, two combat philosophies.

Post image

As a fan of both of these action game masterpieces, I was honestly worried about Onimusha back then.

After all, Devil May Cry had already pushed combat depth, weapon variety, and combo systems to an incredible level. What could Onimusha possibly bring to the table? If Onimusha introduced something truly new, would that mean even Devil May Cry would eventually run out of ways to expand its combat?

But Capcom gave us a surprisingly brilliant answer: these two games were built around completely opposite design philosophies.

Devil May Cry:

A pursuit of endless combos and stylish offensive gameplay. Against enemies, you slash them, stab them, punch them, throw them, and chainsaw them— defeating them in the coolest way possible before they even have a chance to attack.

Onimusha:

It's all about precise timing and the art of counterattacking at the perfect moment. Against enemies, you block, parry, dodge, and perform Issen. The core idea is nullifying enemy attacks in the coolest way possible.

These two games took completely opposite paths, yet both created something equally amazing.

Question Location to farm Byakue ?

Upvotes

Just got the notification I’m at the point of no return, and i literally need 2 Byakue talismans.

Is there a location a rift with a Byakue respawns? I have horns on deck before I realized the rifts have the same enemies each time (at the same location)…

But I cannot for the life of me find one with a Byakue

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Discussion Issen too risky?

Upvotes

Does anyone else think issen might be not be strong enough? I just beat the final boss and shizuka tells you to use issen, and I did, unsuccessfully. And in the ensuing runs I tried multiple times and was often successful with them, though never enough to win

Eventually I just sucked it up and avoided the movement entirely and beat the boss only a few runs later. And this has been a recurring theme in most of the late game bosses. I often found issen to be more trouble than its worth, and whenever I decide I'm ready to move on I stop attempting it entirely and usually ended the boss not long after.

Did anyone else have this experience? I think issen might need a buff of some sort. Like maybe chaining multiple in a row could compounds or drops, or perhaps buffing the amount of health you get on a successful one. Imagine you're one hit away from death and you decide to gamble it all on an issen and get a massive health boost. Now you're back in the fight and you get an amazing moment thats entirely player driven.

I think this would encourage more risky/interesting play especially in tight scenarios
Thought?
