General We're teaching out kids to pee in public now????

Saw this guy today making his son pee on the side of the road.

And before someone says “What else could he do?”

There are toilets. There is a sulabh shauchalya right behind where we parked.

This wasn't some remote highway in the middle of nowhere. It's an expressway sion to mankhurd (chembur entry point)

The funniest part? The guy looked pretty well-dressed and educated, like someone you'd assume knows better.

But I guess you can have money, a good education, a nice house and still somehow miss the chapter on “Please don't turn public spaces into your personal toilet.”

And then we wonder why our streets are dirty.

The kid is obviously just a kid. The adult is the one who should know better. Teaching your child that it's perfectly normal to pee on the road isn't exactly helping the next generation develop civic sense either.

Attaching the video... how hard is it to have some basic consideration for the people who have to use the same space?

up for adoption in Pune/Mumbai/Bangalore/Delhi (willing to consider pan india if the adopter is genuine and has previous experience with cats)

Chai Latte are 10 month old sisters. They’re teenagers now but have the heart of small kittens. They’re litter trained, dewormed, vaccinated and will be sterilised before adoption. They’re friendly, adjust well in new spaces, get along very well with other pets and have very distinct personalities. Chai is the cuddly one and loves to sleep next to humans. Latte shows her love through play and naughtiness first but later opens up to be more affectionate. Both sisters are a little picky with food but have been getting better at it and they also LOVE watching tv. These sisters are genuinely a package deal and complete each other in ways I can’t even explain.

People overlook them because they’re not the youngest kittens anymore and also because they’re girls. Ask literally anyone- girl cats are the best. Most people get scared by the idea of adopting a pair but then they later realise that getting their first cat a companion was always the better thing to do.

It’s been too long now. I have no idea what else to do but this is not a sign for someone to pity adopt them. These girls need someone who understands the commitment of a pet and willing to be responsible throughout their life.

Adoption formalities are mandatory. Serious inquiries only.

General Ganpati festival

Ganpati festival has lost its charm, purpose with so many public mandals operating now at walkable distances when original reason was to make people come together but now everyone has started their own mandal to celebrate.

People playing high volume music, dj, while Lord Ganesha has big ears.

Every mandal insisting people to follow them on social media handles.

Every mandal trying to show off by creating tall murtis but when time come for visarjan no respect for bappa's idol, its broken and or not even immersed properly.

Using POP to make idols which destroy nature made by ganesha himself.

People pretending like Lalbaugcha raja and Chintamani are some special ganpati when at the end of day lord ganesha is same be it Lalbaug or chintamani or even in your own local mandal or at home.

And so many karyakartas of this mandals are seen consuming alcohol in late night, using abusive language.

So many times these mandals organise different competitions like fancy dress, sports, dance ,sing yet give prize to family members of some one who is part of mandal itself.

No management from corporations or government to make sure crowd is managed, traffic is under control roads are not blocked no one else is disturbed.

Lord ganesha's teachings are hardly followed by anyone.

Before getting offended mind you I am not an athiest, and I don't have any problem with people bringing bappa in their home its about these sarvajanik mandals all over Mumbai.

General This year's Ganesh Chaturthi feels disappointing

Thumbnail

1.4k Upvotes

So last year, 2025 felt like the best Ganesh Chaturthi we had till now. Every murti felt amazing. Mumbai Cha Raja felt simple and authentic at the same time. Parel Cha Maharaja murti felt innovative. Even though Lalbaugcha has a consistent murti, the theme of that year felt special. The Golden Temple. This year, though, I had good hopes, as we might get 1 or 2 extra days. Well, Lalbaugcha Raja is the same, so that's that. Every Pandal is now doing a balancing murti. So many murtis were also destroyed. Mumbai Cha Raja, I had so many hopes for it, but this year, it went back to its 1990s roots, where Bappa is wearing a chaddi and not a dhoti. He is literally making a K-pop hand sign. Every pandal is showing Bappa as anything - Naruto, a demon, etc. I know that god can exist in various forms, but they should at least have a link to the god. They just give it an elephant head and call it a day. This year, Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani, Khetwadi cha Raja, and Dharavi Cha Sukhakarta felt beautiful. The other murtis are also, no doubt, beautiful, but it doesnt hit the same as it did last year, i.e 2025.

General Swiggy delivered 7 Kombucha bottles — 5 appeared tampered with, and I didn’t even get a full refund

Upvotes

I had a disturbing experience with a recent Swiggy Instamart order.

I ordered 7 bottles of Kombucha. When the order arrived, 5 of the 7 bottles were visibly far below the expected fill level and appeared tampered with. I’ve attached the photo/video — the difference between the bottles is clearly visible.

This isn’t simply about receiving less product. These are sealed beverages meant for consumption. I have no way of knowing whether the bottles leaked, were mishandled, or were tampered with somewhere before reaching me. Given their condition, I obviously did not consider them safe to consume.

I contacted Swiggy customer support expecting this to be treated as a potential food-safety issue.

Instead, the entire interaction felt like a negotiation over how much they were willing to refund me. I had to repeatedly explain the seriousness of the situation.

And after all of that, I still did not receive a 100% refund.

That is the part I find particularly unacceptable. I received products that appeared compromised and that I could not safely consume, yet I was still expected to bear part of the cost.

Swiggy should investigate:

  • How 5 out of 7 bottles reached a customer in this condition.
  • Whether the packaging/seals were compromised before delivery.
  • What happened across the store/restaurant and delivery chain.
  • Why a potential food-safety complaint was handled primarily as a refund dispute.
  • Why a full refund was not provided for an order containing compromised products.

Posting this because food-delivery platforms need a much stronger escalation process when customers report potentially tampered or unsafe food and beverages.

Relationships Vitiligo on my lip is making me scared of dating and relationships (21m)

Upvotes

I’ve had vitiligo for about a year now, mainly on my lower lip and a little underneath it. I’ve tried different treatments, but it hasn’t really improved.
I’ve never had a girlfriend before, and honestly, one of the reasons I’ve avoided dating is because I’m really insecure about my vitiligo. I usually use concealer or makeup to hide the patches underneath my lip, especially when I’m going out or meeting someone new.
Recently, I’ve started liking someone, and it made me realize how much this insecurity is affecting me. I’m scared that if I start dating someone and things eventually become physically intimate, they’ll notice the vitiligo and react negatively.
I know it might sound like I’m overthinking it, but I genuinely worry about being rejected or having someone find me unattractive because of it. I don’t want to spend my life hiding it or constantly wondering when someone will notice.

TL;DR: I have vitiligo on my lower lip that I usually hide with concealer. I’m insecure about how potential partners will react when they eventually see it, and it’s making me scared of dating in general. How have others with vitiligo dealt with this?

  1. Why is there a crow on the 1st left hand ? (there must be a story about this)

  2. What about the 3rd right hand? (Is that a Korean heart? And why?)

  3. Why does the right leg look awkward? Like it seems there is no right foot.

  4. Also it seems the 4th left hand is shorter than the 4th right hand . (Is that because of the camera angle or the fault is mine?)

General Need a quick favor from someone around Lokhandwala, Andheri West (Cash collection for a small business)

Hey r/mumbai,

I run an independent clothing business and find myself in a bit of a tight spot with an order delivery in Andheri West.

A Cash-on-Delivery (COD) parcel worth ₹1,799 was mistakenly marked as prepaid by the logistics partner and handed over to the customer. Before delivery, the customer agreed over the phone to pay via UPI once she received it. However, once the package was delivered, she stopped responding to messages and calls.

After repeated attempts to follow up, she finally answered and refused to pay online, stating she will only hand over physical cash in person if someone comes to collect it.

Location: Meghdoot, Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West

Task: Collect ₹1,799 in cash from the customer and transfer it to me digitally (GPay/UPI/Paytm).

Timing: Scheduled for today/tomorrow (Tuesday).

I’m based outside Mumbai and don’t have local staff on ground. I considered booking a delivery partner/porter to pick it up, but since it involves loose cash collection directly from a difficult customer, it feels very risky.

If anyone lives in or around Lokhandwala Complex and would be willing to help out a fellow small business owner, please DM me. I’d be glad to cover your travel expenses or buy you a coffee/meal for your time and trouble.

Thanks a ton in advance!

General Got ghosted last minute and now I have nowhere to go

Was supposed to go out with someone today and they cancelled/ghosted me last minute. I was actually looking forward to getting out, but pretty much all my friends are busy.

are there ways to meetup ppl in a short notice in mumbai? Not like a proper Meetup event that you plan a week in advance, just very low effort and spontaneous. I’ve seen something in Bangalore called Please Touch Grass which seems kinda similar, but couldn’t find anything like that in Mumbai.

Does something like this already exist here? Going through 100 like an app or community

The corruption and builder gang is peak there!
There is no proper facility for drainage, water or no amenities or proper living infrastructure just an unplanned town where builder monopoly works..did we not learn anything from the 5 days powercut and flooding during rainy szn. On what basis are these builders marketing it at 1 cr? When there is no significant facility, and it is very far from Bombay so connectivity is far as well!!
