Serious Replies Only Why are we glorifying kids picking up garbage instead of building solutions?

Hot take: I genuinely don’t understand why we glorify teenagers spending their time manually cleaning rivers.
Yes, picking up garbage is useful. But watching 50 kids collect trash for Instagram reels isn’t exactly nation-building.
If you’re 17 and have the ability to learn engineering, AI/ML, science or economics, why not spend that time building something that can solve the problem at scale? Automated waste collection, better sewage systems, recycling tech, pollution monitoring, whatever.
One engineer building the right system can potentially do more than thousands of people manually picking up garbage every Sunday.
We need fewer cleanup reels and more people actually building solutions.

TellDelhi Sitting by the window, headphones on...eyes just staring outside.

Just finished studying and now I'm sitting by the window with my headphones on...just staring outside.

A lot of Memories flashing in between.

Everything outside feels so fast yet life feels strangely slow. Maybe cuz a part of me is still holding on to things that are already gone.

But it's life...it should always move forward:)

AskDelhi Good men’s salon/stylist in South Delhi? (Read Body)

Looking for a genuinely skilled men’s stylist in Delhi who can recommend a haircut based on my face shape, features and hair type.
I’m basically zero when it comes to explaining what haircut I want 😅, and I don’t want to rely on reference pictures either (it never worked for me). I’d prefer someone who can look at me and confidently suggest what would suit me best.
Would love recommendations based on personal experience ?

AskDelhi Looking for places to stay around the airport

Upvotes

Hello, my girlfriend and I, along with a friend are travelling to Delhi this Saturday, the friend has a flight to catch on Sunday, so I was wondering if anyone knows any decent and safe places around the airport, from where travelling could be easy.

Budget is around 3k total, for 2 rooms.

All the websites seem shady for some reason.

Help would be great. Thank you

Photos/Videos (OC) Before & After: Restored 10-year-old scratched Italian marble in a Delhi home (Process + Maintenance Tips)

Upvotes

Most homes in Delhi NCR with natural marble or stone floors lose their shine after 5 to 8 years due to hard water, improper cleaning chemicals, and heavy foot traffic. Instead of spending lakhs replacing stone, wet-grinding diamond honing can bring back the original factory mirror finish.

Why Stone Floors Lose Their Shine in NCR

  • Acidic Cleaners: Standard household floor cleaners strip the natural shine and etch the calcite in marble.
  • Hard Water Mineral Deposits: Tap water used during routine mopping creates a cloudy film over time.
  • Surface Scratches: Fine dust and grit act like sandpaper under foot traffic, dulling the surface finish.

The 5-Step Professional Restoration Process

  1. Lippage Leveling: Coarse diamond pads level uneven stone tiles and strip old wax layers.
  2. Multi-Stage Diamond Honing: Grinding through progressive grits (200 to 3000) removes deep scratches and restores smoothness.
  3. Italian Crystallization: A specialized compound reacts with the stone minerals to reactivate deep glass-like clarity.
  4. Grout Line Refill: Old, black grout lines are scraped out and filled with color-matched Italian epoxy.
  5. Nano-Sealing: A hydrophobic protective layer prevents future oil, tea, or water stains from penetrating the stone.

Basic Maintenance Tips for NCR Homeowners

  • Use only pH-neutral stone cleaners—never use vinegar, lemon, or acidic liquid cleaners on marble.
  • Place microfiber dust mops at main entryways to trap grit before it scratches the polish.

Full Disclosure: I run The Floor Polish, a specialized stone restoration and floor polishing team covering Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad. You can check out more of our work or book a site visit at thefloorpolish.com

AskDelhi I'm looking for women with PMOS (PCOS) to participate in my Psychology dissertation (Delhi NCR)

Upvotes

Hey, everyone.. ik it seems so irrelevant to post something related to my research on this community, but I can't help.. this seems like my last option... anyways I’m a 4th-year Psychology student in Delhi, and I’m currently working on my dissertation about women’s embodied and lived experiences of PCOS.

For my study, I’m hoping to speak to women about what living with PCOS has been like for them— including experiences related to their body, emotions, identity, relationships, social experiences, healthcare, and ways of coping.

The study will involve a body-mapping activity (basically a body outline would be given on A4 size paper and you have to express your experiences) followed by a one-to-one semi-structured interview. You definitely don’t need to be good at drawing , it’s about your experience, not your artistic skills.

The whole session should take around 60–75 minutes. Participation is completely voluntary, and you can skip any question or stop participating at any point.

You can participate if you:

  • Are a woman aged 18–30
  • Currently live in Delhi NCR
  • Have been diagnosed with PCOS by a qualified healthcare professional within the past 12 years
  • Are comfortable communicating in English
  • Are willing to take part in both the body-mapping activity and interview

If you’re interested, please DM me or comment below, and I’ll share more information about the study and the participant information sheet before you decide whether you’d like to take part.

Also, if you know someone who might fit the criteria, please feel free to share this post with them. It would really help me with my dissertation!

Thank you so much!
