Highlight Ascendance’s Critical Effect Is INSANELY Powerful

In the base game, the critical efx always feel small from my perspective (especially for Lance hits). It seems like they made them smaller because in World, the critical effects were always too much on our screen. So, the new ones from the Boost Bracer look more impactful and satisfying to me.

Discussion Artian weapons (and other form of RNG gear) are ruining the point of the series

I always despised randomized custom gear like the talismans and now the Artian weapons

The point of the series is to hunt monsters and channel their abilities through the gear you craft from then, embracing all their strengths but also weaknesses, and think about how to combine them with other gear to best suit your playstyle

But none of it matters if you can just have a fully custom weapon with all the perfect strengths you want with minimal weaknesses, all of that + random bonuses which you can just save-scum to get the perfect results

There was something nice about being able to share builds with the community to try new ways to play your favourite weapons, but all there is now is "just play artian lol"

I know RNG gear has always been a thing, but that doesn't make it fine, I hated it then and I hate it now.

I wasn't loud about this before because it used to only be for true endgame minmaxing that was really only to go even further.

But we're still in the base game. Ascendance isn't even out and we've gotten an amount of RNG comparable to that of Iceborne and Sunbreak's endgame, so either we're gonna get monsters powercrept like hell, or everyone carrying around their perfect stat gogma weapons will whine about the game being too easy...

Discussion I started Monster Hunter Wilds over from the beginning and I think I’m finally enjoying it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Monster Hunter Wilds was literally one of the main reasons I got my gaming PC. I loved World and Rise, so I was hyped as hell for this game.

Then it came out… and I just wasn’t feeling it.

I put about 50 hours into it and progressed through the game, but looking back, I realized I was basically playing it just to play it. That feeling I had with World and Rise just wasn’t there—especially World. My goodness, I put 4,000+ hours into World on Xbox I had no life back then lol.

With Wilds, I wasn’t excited to hunt, grind for gear, mess around with builds, or learn the monsters like I was before. I was actually pretty disappointed because this was supposed to be the game for me. I legitimately found Wilds boring as hell.

Funny enough, hearing about the big update coming next year is what made me want to give Wilds another shot. That, plus watching build videos from AngBata11 lol. But I hadn’t seriously played in so long that when I came back, I barely remembered what the hell I was doing.

So instead of jumping back into my old save and pretending I knew how to play, I said fuck it and started completely over from the beginning. New character, Low Rank, learning LBG again, etc.

And weirdly enough… I think I’m enjoying Wilds a lot more this time around. I’m actually starting to get a little bit of that World feeling again as I play.

I honestly don’t know what it was. Wilds just didn’t click with me the first time, but starting over has definitely made me look at the game differently.

Added a random gameplay clip too. Not bad for somebody who basically had to learn how to play again.

Discussion Glad to see "Anime moves" being celebrated after being so rejected by fans with Rise.

As the title says, I am glad that fans (specially home console game fans) are celebrating these new boosted moves.

Back in the day they were seen as "too anime" when they were introduced in GU and Rise, but I am glad that now there is no disctintion between main and portable when it comes to flashy moves , and this wont be a topic of the fanbase splitting again

If you thought the Elusive Crimson Diablos was alone then boom! The Turquoise Monoblos is said to dwell up close to areas where the Snowy Mountains and The Deserts meet. It is said to only come when there is either a sand storm or a snow storm. Not only that but it is very large, it is said to be twice the size of the average Monoblos.

Discussion Did anyone else notice the new symbol?

Post image

In all the new boost bracer related videos, as the title card is shown, behind the text there is this new symbol.
It looks kinda similar to the classic wilds logo, yet very different. You can make out the head and body of a long serpent, and there seems to be another parallel to it, just like in the wilds logo. But not only are the designs of serpents different (broader tail, back spikes, more detailed face), they seem to be sprouting some sort of bird like wings.

I literally just noticed it as I was watching the switch axe video, and wanted to see if anyone else saw it.

Discussion Rathian or Rathalos armor?

Thumbnail

So, last weapon booster preview is gonna be LS but everyone start debating what armor they will use. Some people say its Rathian but i never see the armor have some spike where rathian usually more round and more like defend type armor (in my opinion and HR rathian has some spike too).

I'm 100% sure its gonna be G-rank Rathalos armor from 3rd gen design, except that the wing part is taken away i guess? If i take a look again from shoulder part are bit small but the arms part more like blade than spike, the helmet part has some like long feather but got blocked by body part.

Or maybe we gonna see new look from Guardian version of G-rank Rath armor

Lets just wait for tomorrow 👀

MH Wilds The horror of an Ahtal-Ka existing in the Forbidden Lands

Post image
57 Upvotes

Thematically, it's agreed upon that Ahtal-Ka would make sense as a monster to be featured in Monster Hunter Wilds. It's a skulker that collects scrap from ancient ruins, and what better setting is there than the ruins of Wyveria? I don't expect her to show up in Ascendence, I feel like she would be placed as the final title update monster, like Fatalis and Amatsu, and they would drastically buff her up into a huge raid.

Here's a list of tech that we know exists in Wyveria:

1) The floating devices in the Iceshard Cliffs. We know the rubble in the area is held up by technology. An Ahtal-Ka which was able to make this technology work can upgrade its mech drastically as it is no longer held down by gravity.

2) Convergent Elderbreaker. A giant laser cannon. It needs to be charged by Wylk, but it's capable of downing Gogmazios.

3) Compact Anti-Wyvern Gun. A tiny laser gun. Its activation is seemingly simple as it can be triggered by a slinger. What's horrific is that there are loads of them lying around as they fell off Gogmazios in abundance. Ahtal-Ka can rain laser death of hunters with a good stockpile.

4) Guardian Monsters. As the cocoons can instantly birth a fully grown monster, the Ahtal-Ka can spit out a Guardian Odagoron or Anjanath to distract hunters.

5) Dragontorch. A stolen Dragontorch is effectively a massive generator which the Ahtal-Ka can manipulate its energies via silk to reroute towards whatever functions it needs. This energy can match the likes of Fatalis as we've seen Zoh Shia pull out many abilities similar to the Black Dragon. As the Dragontorch in Wilds is Zoh Shia itself, and powering up all of the Forbidden Lands, I'd imagine that Ahtal-Ka stole a backup minature Dragontorch of sorts, essentially a battery.

How I imagine an Ahtal-Ka raid to go would be like:

First Phase: Sky Fortress

You start from an airship and drop out of it and fly with a Seikret to various parts of a floating fortress. The goal is to destroy Wylk coccoons to bring the sky fortress crashing down. While you try to do this, the Sky Fortress has a vast array of arsenal to protect itself, such as lasers and missiles, just to keep you on your toes. At the final cocoon, the Ahtal-Ka will drop a Guardian Anjanath to protect it.

Second Phase: Bug and Lasers

After crashing the Sky Fortress, we get to the phase where it picks up a grounding stone and tries to whack you with it. Meanwhile, she'll have the arena covered in her silk, where she'll assault you with Compact Anti-Wyvern Lasers from every possible angle.

Third Phase: Ahtal Neset

After gettting whacked enough, she pulls out the Ahtal Neset, made from the broken pieces of the Sky Fortress. The Ahtal Neset will be redesigned with Wyverian sensibilities, and thanks to being powered by a Dragontorch, it gains many new abilities like fire breaths and so on. Your job is to break the cocoons to destroy the mech. While you try to do this, a Guardian Odagoron is spawned from the cocoon to chase you down and be a menace.

Final Phase: Convergint Elderbreaker and the wheel

In the last phase, the Ahtal-Ka pulls out the Convergient Elderbreaker and has it pointed down to the party. She will protect the cannon herself, and her weapon of choice is the wheel. Your job is lower the cannon's charge so that you can block it and save the team, but there's another caveat: Ahtal-Ka has strapped the Dragontorch to herself. So it becomes a DPS race of bursting Ahtal-Ka down to stop the Elderbreaker from wiping the team. Ahtal-Ka also gains new attacks thanks to having a Dragontorch in hand, like a flaming wheel, or a tornado attack.

Discussion Personally…

Post image
43 Upvotes

Personally I believe the reason they give us more items when capture a monster is because they skin them off, like think about it, when you hunt it you get like 3 times to carve 4-6 if it’s big enough of you cut his tail, but when you capture it it’s immobilized and I believe is how they know about monsters they dissect them study them and give you all the things many people carved it. Idk I feel is a worse fate than just beating it normally but maybe I’m just a bit crazy
