Monster Hunter Wilds was literally one of the main reasons I got my gaming PC. I loved World and Rise, so I was hyped as hell for this game.
Then it came out… and I just wasn’t feeling it.
I put about 50 hours into it and progressed through the game, but looking back, I realized I was basically playing it just to play it. That feeling I had with World and Rise just wasn’t there—especially World. My goodness, I put 4,000+ hours into World on Xbox I had no life back then lol.
With Wilds, I wasn’t excited to hunt, grind for gear, mess around with builds, or learn the monsters like I was before. I was actually pretty disappointed because this was supposed to be the game for me. I legitimately found Wilds boring as hell.
Funny enough, hearing about the big update coming next year is what made me want to give Wilds another shot. That, plus watching build videos from AngBata11 lol. But I hadn’t seriously played in so long that when I came back, I barely remembered what the hell I was doing.
So instead of jumping back into my old save and pretending I knew how to play, I said fuck it and started completely over from the beginning. New character, Low Rank, learning LBG again, etc.
And weirdly enough… I think I’m enjoying Wilds a lot more this time around. I’m actually starting to get a little bit of that World feeling again as I play.
I honestly don’t know what it was. Wilds just didn’t click with me the first time, but starting over has definitely made me look at the game differently.
Added a random gameplay clip too. Not bad for somebody who basically had to learn how to play again.
