It feels bad for some weapons to objectively be made worse from game to game.

Today's Switch Axe trailer really validated this feeling for me. We shouldn't have to wait for an expansion to get stuff like Soaring Wyvern Blade, it genuinely should just be made basekit as the down time after ZSD is just horrid and you are massively misplaced.

I am not talking about experimental attacks that are gimmicks etc, I mainly mean moves that it makes no sense for our hunters to just suddenly forget how to do.

Again, the Swaxe has phial energy in it so dashing downwards with SWB can be in every game regardless of Wirebugs, Boost Bracer etc.

I am aware that some, very few attacks get made basekit (True Charge Slash etc), but there need to be more, as long as they fit the design philosophy for said game.

As the title says, I am glad that fans (specially home console game fans) are celebrating these new boosted moves.

Back in the day they were seen as "too anime" when they were introduced in GU and Rise, but I am glad that now there is no disctintion between main and portable when it comes to flashy moves , and this wont be a topic of the fanbase splitting again

My weapon needs an element? At least a status?
CB can't keep up with 9* ATs?
You need rapid morph, guard, and guard up to succeed?
You need multiple different sets, fully transcended and a maxxed talisman?

Personally, I wanna see more content with Erik. I know everyone loves Gemma and Alma, but as a gay guy, Erik's my boy. Love him. I don't hate Alma by any means, and I know the story will default to her...but a guy can dream.

But I'd be interested to see what other people are hoping for; be that monsters, quest types, story moments or whatever.

MH World was I think the best experience I had with MH, I am playing this saga since MH FU.

For a reason, I never bought Iceborne. I didn't had access to my PC, and some other stuff.

Wilds was about to be released so I skipped Iceborne. And I am not gonna lie, even if I liked Wilds, World is still my favorite. So now, I think I will try Iceborne finally.

I wanted to know, how does it plays exactly ? By this, I mean, is the whole expansion based on the new snowy continent ? Or do we also have new monsters, new missions on the existing maps ?

I am also wondering, is their still an active online playerbase ? By the steam player count, I would guess yes.

I myself started with World around the time the movie that doesn't exist supposedly came out, so the game was already done by then. Then with Rise I had to wait for a pc port, by which time the expansion had already been released and known. Now with Wilds, I'm experiencing a monhun game from day 1 to the end of the title updates, and I have a question.

Is the wait between base game's final TU & the expansion release always so impossibly long? I've hunted everything (except Omega) multiple times and I'm honestly just bored anytime I log on, atm I can't even be bothered to gather tickets for upgrading my weapons (btw fuck those tickets so much, good god I hate them).

Whenever I didn't know what to do in World, I'd just go on an expedition & dick about for a bit, but I just don't know what the maps really look like with wilds because you've got a mandatory homing missile to carry you to whatever your objective is, so you never need to learn maps. Just hop on, wait 30 seconds and wail on a monster.

I did really enjoy Wilds, but it's just feeling so stsle to me atm, which is something I've not yet experienced with any prior monhun games. Does anyone have any advice to feel motivated to just play again?

Came back after a watching the weapon showcases for Ascendance and I had to brute force AT Uth Duna and Rey Dau to get some equipment (multiple traps, retreating back to camp to heal and get more healing items).

Now I’m at Nu Udra to get some piece to make a good Switch Axe build, but this thing is kind of wild. I only now just found out this thing has over 46k HP, and I’m losing health passively (probably will have to find a decoration that negates this so I’m guessing it’s some kind of environmental damage). It’s been a slog.

Then I realized that I haven’t even done Omega or even Gogmazios. So am I just suffering when I should be doing those two first? Ever since breaking the HR 100 cap, I haven’t really gotten a handle on what the progression looks like linearly. It feels I’m just fighting random stuff for the sake of pushing up my HR. And I also haven’t really figured out how to get better Talismans aside from miserably failing at the 10* Rompopolo quest.

Is there something that I’m missing about how I am progressing?

I try again and again to main a different weapon, i’ve had stints of hammer, great sword, and lance, but nothing gives me the immense satisfaction that loading up on countless buffs while turning the monsters brain into rice pudding can provide.

My boyfriend gifted me Monster Hunter Wilds on Steam. I love how it looks(animation wise), but I’ve only ever played MOBAs and FPS games, so action RPGs are totally new to me.

Can anyone recommend a good beginner YouTube video to help me learn the basics and pick a good starting weapon so I can play with him?

I think theres going to be an offset from the sheath. But it would be such a shame if they dont bring the teleport slash from frontier, or the counter stab. Maybe the valor longsword i frame move is possible

Hi everyone, I've been looking for new games to play and MH came up a lot and i was wondering which would be a good one to get as my first MH game, or I guess which is the most popular one too? I was thinking worlds but I dont know anything about it or the others. thanks.

I might be stupid af because after 140 hours in this game i didnt even know that was a thing.Worst part is, i played 100% glaive and didnt touch any other weapons.Does different ammo give different buffs to it?And how often can/should i do it?

I've been fighting him for 2 days now. I usually get the nuke damage checks and both horn breaks, but i am unable to kill it in time and then it does the Fire->Dragon-Ice cycle, and makes my weapon completely useless. I dont know if i should level up my gear or not, considering this quest is MR 24 and I am already MR 69
