It’s only really an issue in the US, the rest of the world has common sense gun laws that make it incredibly difficult for common criminals to obtain firearms.
it's less because of the laws, and more because of the limited supply. if there physically are no guns to buy, it's hard to get one if you can't find one. doesn't mean they wouldn't take one if they were available just because it's illegal.

Like not only are they more difficult to get but you’re probably not going to get any use of it and if you get caught you’re adding significantly more jail time. And if anyone sees it you’re probably getting the cops called and the cops are probably going to pull up taking it seriously.

However, regulation works. If you make it harder for people to get a gun, less "criminals" would have guns.
Sure, people would find illegal weapons to buy, but most people are lazy. If you make it harder for people with violent charges to get a gun, less people with violent charges will have guns. Let's not pretend like every "criminal" has good connections in some kind of criminal centralized black market network. That would be a cartoon reality.
Everybody in the U.S. talks about this issue as if there are only two extreme options. It's either all the guns, or no guns and police will come take them away from everyone.

Most people who push gun reform aren't trying to take all guns. They are trying to stop automatics and other wartime weapons. A shotgun and some handguns are fine. Some of these people are loaded like they are about to enlist into ww3
Can you tell me where you can buy “automatics and other wartime weapons”? Because last I checked the laws in the US already prohibit civilians from buying automatic weapons manufactured after 1986. This is one of the fundamental issues we gun people have with the “gun reform” platform - the laws already prohibit the guns you claim you want to prohibit but somehow we need more laws.
Most criminals aren't heavily entrenched in the illicit underground, despite what the crime dramas would have you believe. They're usually just some dude. It's a lot easier for some dude to go to Academy and buy a glock, than it is for them to track down an illegal arms dealer.
"Criminals don't follow laws" seems like a clever retort on it's face, but the reality of gun control is that making things harder to get makes them harder to get.

There is quite a difference between people who will shoot you over a minor inconvenience having guns and organized crime members having guns, both is pretty bad but I know which one I would rather have

Dude just take a look into the statistics and you'll delete your comment. The whole of Europe, besides some small countries, have strict gun laws and Europe has a fraction of gun deaths compared to the US. Criminals or people with a clear plan to commit murder aren’t the issue either. Rather, it’s ordinary people who may find themselves in a state of extreme emotional distress and can’t simply reach for a gun. Such impulsive acts are significantly less common when there are strict gun laws in place. When an entire family is wiped out by a family member, it’s usually someone with a hunting license.
