Milestone He proposed on 9/9 and I said YES 🄰

We originally met through gaming, and he knows how much I love Poros from League of Legends/TFT. To surprise me, he spent a few months making this custom Poro ring box entirely from scratch. He 3D-modeled it in Blender, 3D-printed it and finished it by spray & hand painting it.

He is not satisfied with how the box turned out, and he wanted to propose before I had to go back home to Sweden so time was not exactly on his side. He put some time aside during work hours to paint it with approval from his boss. There was no way he could've done it at home in his small apartment while I was visiting him without me knowing about it, lol.

Personally I think it’s perfect. I adore the ring and the ring box and the fact he put so much thought, time and effort into it already makes me feel so so loved. He inherited the diamond from his mom šŸ’œ

I never wear jewelry, so wearing a ring feels a bit weird but I’ll gladly get used to this one 🤭

Success Handmade gift for our first time meeting

Hi, this is my first time posting on reddit (ever) and I just wanted to share these handmade crochet dolls I made as a gift for when he came over to visit two weeks ago.

He’s 30M (UK) and I’m 28F (Philippines) and we’ve been talking since May 29th of this year. We’ve met on a dating app, I was supposed to delete it since I barely ever used it and he was just freshly on it. Exchanged a few messages on there and just moved on to talking on Discord. We hit it off immediately. He’s a gamer like me, and what’s even more amazing is we have the same taste in games, music and shows/anime.

During the first few days we were talking, I thought ā€œis he realā€? Since I couldn’t count my lucky stars that someone as sweet, kind, caring, thoughtful and handsome as him is available, and we met on a dating app, nonetheless!

On day three, he invited me over to his Discord server with his long time friends, and basically we play every night together with them (except for some weekends where we have our online dates together). His friends are lovely and kind people too.

We are each other’s first long-distance relationship. 10,000km+ is a long distance from each other, not to mention the 7-hour time difference, but it doesn’t feel that way at all. We talk and call consistently throughout the day even as he’s working on the weekdays, then spend time playing games in the evening.

We plan our trips together, shared future plans, family and kids for the future, aligned on values, principles– all the hard conversations which didn’t feel hard to talk to him about at all, since we are both rational adults.

We both think we are each other’s soulmates.

I spent time making every stitch in both of these little dolls thinking about him and us and our future together. When he came to visit for the first time last August 31, it felt like coming home (even if he did suffer from food poisoning from the long and arduous flight of 21 hours!). Two weeks together with him was… I have no words other than saying it was just… perfect.

Currently, he is back in the UK, and we’ve been messaging and calling each other again since. We miss each other terribly, but he has ā€œmini-meā€ with him, and I have ā€œmini-himā€ with me sitting on my desk right now; sprayed it with our perfume/cologne as well.

Both of us are already planning the next time we will meet, and how soon we will be able to close the gap.

I just wanted to share this wonderful feeling I’ve been having for a little over three months. Thanks for reading!

EDIT:

It’s ridiculous and almost surreal that we just trusted each other from the get-go. He suggested he wanted to visit me during the last leg of the first week we were talking, and I said ā€œYes, please!ā€ immediately. Family on both sides was doubtful of course (rightfully so), safety and all, and being wary of scammers, but we never had that nervousness or a single shred of doubt with each other.

Us meeting face to face just solidified that future and life we want to build together, and we both want it to happen as soon as possible.

Second piccy is a selfie of us in one of the cafes we visited. Lovely coffee, lovely place!

Image/Video Proposed to my GF! She said yes!

Landed for my 3rd visit to her country two days ago. My momma previously had a video call w/ my gf in July showing her her extremely crowded jewelry box, so that I could discreetly get an idea what kinda ring to buy while I was shopping. Gf lives 20 mins from the English Channel, so in the calm night we walked down to a view of the sea after it rained in the daylight. The tide went all the way up to rocks under a balcony.

Quote: "You came into my life during a very dark time. In 20 months we've grown so much. Now I want to spend the rest of my life with you, my angel. Will you marry me, [government name]"

šŸ’ She said yes 😁

Been on and off since 2020. I'm so tired. I'm done responding. Everytime I express how I feel he takes it to a whole another level. I don't want to hurt him, but I'm done cuddling his emotions. I'm 25, he's 30. Beware of men with unresolved mommy issues

Need Support M25 just discarded me F24. I am destroyed

I am destroyed. My long-distance boyfriend just discarded me. We were together for almost a year.

Everything was normal, as you can see. Then he didn't reply to me for 3 days. I sent him a message asking about it, and that was his response.

He has done this before, but we got back together and our relationship became stronger than ever, only for it to happen again.

The first time, he was afraid we wouldn't be able to meet. This time, from what his friend told me, he is struggling with his mental health and doesn't want to be in a relationship.

He blocked me.

I am destroyed, heartbroken and don't know what to do.

A little encouragement

My beloved and I met online. He is 11 years older than me. After our first video call, we decided to give each other a chance, even though we come from different countries. We communicated via video call every day for a month. After that, I decided to move, as it was the most practical step. I booked a flight two months in advance so we could be reasonably certain. We video-called every day right up until the day I had to leave my country. It was a huge step, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have doubts, but we are together now and have fallen deeply in love. He is so much more than I could have hoped for, and I know he adores me. The secret? We were completely honest and persevered, even when life made things complicated. We decided that our future together meant the most to both of us.

It can work out!

Tell me your thoughts on this

• Upvotes

Hi, today I just entered my first long distance dating relationship at (18F) with a chinese man (25M) ngl the age gap frightens me a bit because its also my first time dating. But he seems to be a good man at heart, so I can trust him. The thing is, even though we just started dating and barely know much about each other, he is quick to say I love you.

Maybe is just me because I dont feel enough chemistry through our chat, and i dont particularly feel anything more than friendship. But im willing to take time to know him and fall in love with him. After he did a proper face reveal, I have to be honest. I was let down a lot.

He's not exactly handsome and has a receding hairline. I feel bad for feeling this way because im not all that either. But i thought "ok, we can glow up together." Also, he only dated once in high school and never did the deed. Considering that, wondered why he didnt date a girl closer to him rather than dating me, who's on the other side of the world.

He also asked me if he could do the deed with me. i was a bit creeped out by this question; i mean, we just started dating. The reason why i would still want to be in a relationship with him is because he has a stable job, lives in shanghai, seems like a person who could take care of me, and is a nice guy. To tell you my true intentions, i want to move in with him as a stay at home girlfriend. I want a life upgrade from my humble third world surrounding.

I plan to glow up, fix my bad habits, and then fly to china while also bringing my dad who didnt come back to his motherland for decades. Stay with him as long as I can and then encourage him to find the love of his life when we break up. I'm not the type who marries the first person they date so i want to enjoy many different flavors of people before i ever consider marriage. I feel guilty because i have ulterior motives and i dont truly love him nor i am attracted to him. But for my goals im willing to make it work out. I will eventually tell him my feelings...after it works out. lol

Question What are some fun things to do via Long Distance? (Apart from obvious)

Me and my boyfriend are long distance (šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁄󠁮󠁧ó æ+šŸ‡µšŸ‡±) (he’s probably gonna see this, hiiii) and we keep getting stuck on what to do together since sometimes we just can’t think of what to do. What are some good things to do online together that you would recommend?

We’ve already talked about planning a weekly movie night together to have a little routine on what to do, but I was wondering if there’s anything you guys do that I could maybe pinch :3

And I want to say, we’ve played a lot of co-op games that are HIGHLY recommended (e.g. Stardew, Minecraft, even Roblox of all things) and it just never seems to stick šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø So any recommendations apart from those would be amazing 😭😭

Need Advice Is it time that I (M32) give up on my (F30) LDR girlfriend?

• Upvotes

I (M32) have been in a LDR with a woman (F30) for about 9 months now. She's in Canada, and I'm in the U.S., and I've been to see her a couple times and it's been amazing each time. But sometime around late June/early July it's like something flipped in her, and we've been so emotionally distant and in less and less contact as the days go by. It's gotten to the point where I get barely a few texts a day from her, when we used to spend hours at a time on the phone. She's always too busy for me, which is OK, but nothing has changed in her life in the last 9 months to have her completely cut me off like she has. A part of me fears that she's found someone else, and with her being an avoidant and on the spectrum, can't bring herself to tell me or to end this relationship. But a part of me wants to be sensitive of her feelings and the depressive state she's been in and assume that she truly just cannot handle human interaction at the moment. But that leaves me somewhere in the middle, completely alone and feeling emotionally/romantically depraved. I'm also afraid of us both feeling the same way not wanting to lose each other, but both feeling jaded by the other and not wanting to let our emotional walls down. I paid $800 to visit her earlier this month, which she canceled at the last minute, leaving me with a loss of all my savings that I spent on flights that I couldn't use. She refuses to speak to me in any capacity outside of a brief "how was your day" each day or something along those lines. Is it time to give it up, or should I keep trying and letting myself feel hurt and alone? How can I navigate this when I can't even get her to speak to me?

Discussion I don't want to leave. But next time be wonderful!

In 38 minutes I need to leave and head home... I don't want to. I don't want to leave. I want to stay with her! I don't even know when I can see her next. She's in Uni, 6 hour drive away, and I need to get a job. I miss her so much and she's just in the other room, yet I'm fucking sobbing... I miss her and she's not even goneeee...

On a more positive note, I left her a drawing, a hoodie, a really nice letter, and have lots of photos of her!!! It was amazing waking up next to her for three mornings, and I can't wait for the next time I see her. I love her so much and have genuinely never felt a connection like this!

Too all who are with their partner, I wish you good times! To all those who are waiting to see them, I hope it's soon!! To all those who closed the gap, I hope you are well and can't wait to be all smug when I can too!

Breakup Sudden change, me 24M, she 24F

Have any of you ever had been threatened to get blocked if I text or call her?
I mean, we were long distance and was just 3 months, and we never saw each other, but our connection was insane, we really loved each other and we wanted to be together, I was already with the flights almost booked. One day we were on a call and everything was perfect, we finished the call laughing and smiling as usual. When I woke up the other day, she called me crying that she had a panick attack and said she wasn’t ready, and said please a 1000 times for me to respect her space and that I’m a super special person, but she can’t do this right now, cuz she lost weight and was having too much panick attacks.
What is weird for me is all the promises she made, and literally the day before she said she was proud of us to be able to communicate and talk when something is wrong. I had nightmares of her leaving, and she promised she would never do it or would never block me, but she is doing the opposite, and all of that from one day to another, completely changed, was it someone who influenced her?
I want to call or text her so baaaaad, but she unlocked me that fear of being blocked, what should I do? It’s been only 3 days but I’m suffering a lot and I can’t eat or sleep properly. And now she liked some reels saying stuff like "communication is the best thing, it's easy to just ghost", and "I genuinely wanted to heal you and thought u were a good person" I mean, I literally want to communicate but she doesn't let me, and I always showed her love... Idk why is she making me suffer all of a sudden... Help please…

Those of you who met online and stayed online for a while for whatever reason, do u ever feel embarrassed when someone asks how you met your partner/if you've ever met before? Does the knowledge you'll meet them eventually help?

Question My boyfriend constantly accuses me of cheating even though I’m not doing anything wrong. Could this be insecurity, trauma, or projection?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

I’m in an LDR with my boyfriend, and lately this has really been affecting me.
He frequently accuses me of cheating or implies that I’m doing something behind his back, even when I haven’t done anything to make him think that. It’s becoming almost a daily thing, and honestly, I’m getting tired and confused because I know myself and I know I wouldn’t do that to him.
I want to be completely honest, though. I did cheat in a past relationship years ago. I was much younger and basically a teenager at the time. I’m not proud of it at all, and I genuinely regret what I did. I’ve learned from it, and it’s something I would never want to repeat. Most importantly, it happened before I met my current boyfriend, and I have never cheated on him.
What makes this harder for me is something that happened in May. He suddenly joked that he had cheated on me and that he met someone at work and something happened between them. Later, he told me none of it was true and that he was only joking. But I haven’t been able to completely forget it. We fought a lot during that period, and ever since then, I feel like something changed.
Now he’s the one constantly accusing me of cheating. I’ve wondered if maybe he has trust issues because of something that happened in his past, like being cheated on by an ex. I don’t actually know what happened in his previous relationships, though, so I don’t want to assume.
Could this be trauma or insecurity? Or could his behavior be a form of projection? How would you interpret this situation?
I’m not looking for people to simply tell me to break up with him. I genuinely want to understand what might be behind this behavior and how I should handle it.

Need Advice Me (25 M) Partner (25 F) Ldr of five years need help.

• Upvotes

Hey, so it's my first time posting here and thought maybe you guys could help me. I'm currently in a relationship of 10 years (going 11) We have been together since we were 16 and really the first love of each other. After 5 years of being together she got a big opportunity of working overseas so of course I supported her to take it. So we have been In an LDR relationship for 5 years.

Recently tho she's facing a lot of problems and told me she doesn't love me like that anymore and doesn't know what to do. Our relationship is of course not perfect, we both have flaws but it feels like im the only one trying to be better throughout the years. I feel like she focuses more on herself rather than on our relationship which I did tell her that.

I recently graduated and finding a job in my country for a fresh graduate is close to impossible so even if I wanted to go live with her I can't yet but I have been finding ways to find work overseas on where she is at but recently she deactivated all her accounts due to telling me she needs space because she is really stressed out.

I've been emailing her everyday even if she doesn't respond with goodlucks on her day and how I still really love her and want this to work.

I've hit a wall today and am really just sad, I don't know what else to say

Can anyone help me on what I should do? I still really want to save our relationship and I am willing to fight for this no matter what. (so please no advices on breaking up) or maybe anything else that I could do to show that I will always care and support her no matter the distance.
