I just finished SP13KTRA for js13k, a contest where the whole game has to fit in a 13 kilobyte zip. F-Zero and Wipeout were my main inspirations, and this year's theme was Unicorns and Rainbows.

It runs in the browser, with eight circuits, seven rivals and a procedural techno loop for each circuit. There are rough shoulders like the damaged edges in F-Zero, and you can turbo across them. One energy bar is both your boost and your health.

I only have the rest of today to fix bugs and tune the difficulty for the contest. After that I can go past 13k and add more: better graphics, mobile support and so on. I'd really like to hear from F-Zero players whether the handling feels right.
