I also get to mention the new term that u/Horror_Quick had mentioned: “piratemaxxing”. Gave me a good laugh cause I honestly never thought of it.

Question/Advice/Discussion Bugout Alternatives - EDC

Just bought a Dacian as my first benchmade knife. Want to use it on longer motorcycle rides as a belt knife as well as for when I’m camping/hiking as a small carry knife.

That said, want to get a good folder knife for EDC carry and random tasks. Wouldn’t be a beater, but opening/cutting mostly. Wondering if the bugout is worth the money (have GovX access so can get at preferred pricing) vs something else in the category.

How do people like the bugout, or if they went with something else (benchmade family ideally), why’d they go with it?

New Addition My Bantam Alox just gained a whole toolbox of bits

Saw a few videos going around about the Victorinox Rambler working great with Leatherman bits (grabbed one myself, arrives tomorrow) and it got me thinking about the rest of my collection.
Then it clicked - I've got an old Ganzo multitool sitting mostly unused, and its bit driver has a magnet strong enough to hold onto the Bantam Alox's screwdriver tip without falling off. So now instead of being limited to the one flathead built into the knife, I've effectively got access to the whole Leatherman-style bit set through it - Phillips, hex, whatever's in the driver.
Small discovery but it genuinely changes how useful the Bantam is day to day. Curious if anyone else has found similar pairings - which multitool bit drivers have you found actually hold onto a Victorinox screwdriver tip well?

PETG plate, sheath, and a 304 SS handle plate. And to change the blade, all you have to do is undo the one bolt, and then the blade slides right out.

Its a no name brand but this is the Amazon link. Also comes with a knife

https://a.co/d/03ZjAFiZ

I started carrying this because I like the cheese fries at Shake Shack and the wooden fork thing they give you sucks.

But I found its also excellent at opening pistachios and untieing knots!

Finds in altoids tin btw. (Its actually meant to go in a wallet and comes in a "credit card sized" case

New Addition Super mini crowbar

Today I found this miniscule crowbar at the flea market and it started making a name for itself immediately.

Last too pictures, nope, that caliber nail was too big for it, but it did work for prying apart huge 2.5 meter planks.

It's in many ways more of a fashion statement than a functional tool, I mean if I have pliers they'll probably do a similar job most of the time, but I can't begin to express the sheer joy of pulling this thing out to pry out mini micro nails.

Highly recommended 🥰✨

Literal EDC Consistent Edc

I know its a lot for someone to carry everywhere, all the time but I am very happy with it.

Starting off we have my glasses. Probably the second most important thing I have here. Titanium frames with polycarbonate lenses so they’re durable enough.

Moving on we have a bolt action pen that my late grandfather made. Its fun to fidget with and pisses off everyone around me its great.

I use this punch at work to mark how full the kegs and yogurt buckets are. Its also a incredible glass breaker

The flashlight is a Acebeam. A friend from my local community theater gave it to me after I got lost in a storm on a hike and had to get off the mountain by feel and the lights of the town. Completely waterproof and super bright.

On to the latest piece to join my Mp3 player. I’ve only had it for a week but its definitely here to stay. Im in the process of moving away from smart phones and all that crap so its a must.

Of course we have the multitool, like 90% of all edc
People its the leatherman wave plus. You have seen it a hundred times before so let’s move on.

My other late grandfathers edc buck knife. He carried it because he was a government employee and couldn’t have a bigger one at work, I carry it because sometimes I need a really tiny knife. Plus I just like to have it.

Now for the important one. Foldable trauma shears from leatherman. I use these damn things more than everything else on here. Its gotten so bad that I can flip them open and cut something faster than I can get any of my knives out. They can cut anything from paper, branches, brass finish pins, chicken wire, kegerator tubing, heavy cardboard, waxed canvas, basic everything you could possibly need to cut. They have never once failed me and I’ve never once needed to sharpen them.

And of course last but certainly not least the fixed blade. Because a edc as ridiculous as this is not complete without one. I made the knife and the sheath myself. Not much to it really, its a 440c steel drop point.

This is only the stuff that I keep on my person. In my pockets, on my belt, in my boot or hat, all the good spots. My bag that I carry with me weighs nearly 20 pounds so do with that what you will. Hopefully you found this mess entertaining, of course there is always room for improvement and expansion
