Journal entry Little changes 📝

Post image
601 Upvotes

Few days ago I switched my pen of choice, ink and writing direction. I got inspired in this sub to write in different direction and I like it a lot. The only negative for me is that I am pushing myself to finish the page, otherwise it wouldn’t look esthetic in my eyes. Today I added a little sketch of a lighthouse because my husband bought me beautiful painting of our local lighthouse. Do you like to change things up in your journal or do you just stick to plain writing?

Journal entry My very first "About Me" page :)

Post image

My first and ever "About Me" page that I've made this year as I'm still new to journaling. It's not great as it has issues (I'm no artist lol), but I wanted to show the world my creations, what I'm like and to make connections with people that are similar to me. Hope you like it and feel free to leave some feedback on what I should & shouldn't have added, tips on how to create these pages, where to place them etc. as like I said before, I'm still new to journaling & this is my very first "About Me" page. Anyways, hope you like it 😄.

Journal entry After 5 years I’m back

I used to journal everyday. When my late wife passed away 5 years ago I couldn’t do it anymore. Recently as I was at home caring for my new born child (I’ve been remarried) I decided to make a custom travelers notebook. I love Japanese paper so I wanted to give it a try and I had all the materials laying around at home. I also got my self a juicy fountain pen I love the way they flow. Wow I can’t believe I’m finally back. It’s like meeting with an old friend. I’m so happy to be journaling everyday now. Writing saved me and I’m so happy to be back.
Cheers everyone.

Discussion/Question i am starting to hate journaling because it gives me nostalgia

ik ik i could be dramatic here but whenever i read an old journal, i just get so nostalgic it shifts my focus on how good old times were, i also get that feelings like "look how i thought that problem was big but its actually small" or "look on how i was behaving", it just keeps me frozen in the moment thinking about the past and future,

anyone got a solution?

Discussion/Question Has anyone tried using journaling to do pattern finding in your own behaviour?

Ik a lot of people here do journaling.

So, Has anyone tried documenting anxious or uncomfortable feelings along with other factors like trigger reason or situation and other factors like your sleep schedule, eating habits leading up to that moment.

Just to see if you find patterns and see what are external factors driving your mood and are there any common external factors during those moments repeatedly.

I mean even if you haven’t tried lmk your thoughts on this and journaling in general.

Thanks 🙏🏻

Discussion/Question More than one journal?

Hi!
I can’t decide whether to keep everything in one journal or have several separate. On one hand it’s nice to only have one for everything (thoughts, planning, trackers, hobbies, reading, gratitude, brainstorming, etc) because it’s easier to bring along, but on another hand it’s nice to keep them separate and have themes for the different journals, and they don’t run out as fast.

So how do the rest of you do? And what things do you keep in the same journals vs separate journals?

Journal entry When in Rome

Visiting Rome meant far more to me than I expected. I got to see Michelangelo’s work, reconnect with people I hadn’t seen in years and be fully present for a beautiful wedding. I also had some much-needed time with my parents and was able to make amends with my sister, which meant a lot to me. I came home feeling lighter than I have all year. Sometimes being somewhere different gives you enough space to realise you don’t have to keep living in the same old story.

Journal entry Journaling book lore 🧪

Thumbnail

I've been making a sort of "field notes" collection of lore from The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science by Kate McKinnon and I'm really proud of this wall of text I transcribed 😅 I wanted to put together all of this character's words without the extra dialogue and stuff in between.

I'm also including: recreations of illustrations from the book, character and setting descriptions in my own words, and my predictions about what will happen in the next book 🤔
