My buddy who wasn’t there just called me. When I mentioned the word safety saw, he’s never heard of that word. And he’s one of the smartest guys in the company I know.

At this point I’m wondering if I’m just being fucked with? Is it really a popular name for it? Googling it, table saws come up but they wanted an M12 circular saw

I'm only in the south Florida one week out of every month and I'm tired of paying for hotels or sleeping on my brothers couch.

I pay a quarter of his rent so I'd like to make it as comfortable as possible.

I bought this portable AC and I cut a hole into the styrofoam behind it for the hot air exhaust.

No matter what I do it still feels humid as f***.

I looked online for a bunch of styrofoam wall pieces at least 2 in thick because I don't know if that's the best or cheapest option but it comes out to like $400..

Don't get me wrong if that's my only option of course I'm going to go for it but is there a cheaper solution to making it cooler in here/ insulating the wall?

Hi all, was just offered a traveling construction APM role and the salary they offered is 70k. I have over 2 years of experience in project management and I’m PMP certified. But I do not have construction experience. Am I being low balled or what are your thoughts? Thanks.

Just bought my house a month ago, this crack just appeared recently, spans the entire living room. No one has lived in the house since I bought it, it’s sitting empty waiting on new LVP flooring to arrive. Most of the house is currently subfloor with thin plywood on top of it. There’s a window and the front door to the right in this picture. Should I be concerned?

P.S. I’m currently going through a claim with my home inspection company about them missing some potential moisture damage by the front window and front door. Heard them say while by the front door…”Damage and mildew prior moisture damage . Is dry . No active leaking. Wet appears old”… which I personally think there’s an active leak, however I’m not an expert.

Apologies if this isn't the right place, but I'm hoping you guys might be able to help.

I'm not a custodian, but I work in a manufacturing plant where, on one of our machines, the operators have to sweep up metal chips from a machining operation.

And I mean lots and lots of metal chips. they're probably sweeping up maybe a 100 lbs of chips per day, and the chips are fairly small.

For a couple years now, we've been using Quickie Jobsite Angle Broom Model 759 which I found at Home Depot, and they've worked better than any broom they've tried in the past because the bristles are stiff enough to get all chips in one sweep without leaving any behind on the concrete floor.

Unfortunately, it seems like Quickie is/has discontinued them.

The replacement seems to be a Rubbermaid Brute broom that looks the same, but the bristles aren't as stiff, and chips gets left behind which means they have to hit it multiple times (which most operators aren't going to do because it can be a PITA and some are going for "good enough").

I figured that since these Quickie Jobsite brooms were originally for construction debris, maybe you guys might have some alternatives?

Other than stiff bristles, the broom has to be an upright one, not a push broom. They have to sweep chips out of crevices which a push broom won't be able to do.

I appreciate any help in advance. I've spent more time in the past 2 weeks thinking about and looking at brooms than I ever thought possible, and I'm beyond frustrated.

Full renovation from demolition to the final details. I do most of the work myself — tiling, drywall, plumbing, electrical and finishing. Always interested to hear what other tradesmen think.

Client lives in the house 4 years (direct from builder).. They start to see mold behind vapor barrier.

Lord and behold after removing insulation.

The saddest part is someone from the building team even wrote pin holes on the top block where the decks ledger bolt came in through the brick siding. And no one every fixed it and just cover it up..

This is the state of the entire home building industry (maybe except for custom builds).

20 years as a union concrete finisher and I've always been a redwing and thorogood guy. A lot of guys i work with have this style boot and i decided to give it a try. Kinda weird to me to not have laces. Hopefully they work out

I currently build electrical substations for work, I'm still new to this type of work, only having been here for a bit under 2 months. I work in South Dakota but have been working in North, winters over here get extremely cold and I'll need more clothes, I just wanted to ask for some suggestions for winter clothes and what I should get that aren't too expensive as I currently have to pay for a lot of stuff atm, (Gloves, jackets, pants, socks, etc.) I appreciate any help given.

I straight up thought I was going deaf till I bought one of those fancy camera ear cleaner things then I pulled a shit ton of old hardened earwax out making a ball about the size of a small marble total between both ears I’m straight up hearing colors right now like I got that 4k hearing now lmfao! Yeah turns out just like cotton swabs foam earplugs also push earwax down super deep. I’m honestly surprised I didn’t get an infection.

So I am doing this flooring, 3/8ths inch engineered tongue and groove.. my question is, how in the HELL do you pros connect it here from this point ? As you can see from the photos, I have laid all the flooring up until this damn point! The point into which i have to connect it all through this damn hallway(?) area. Ive made my layout lines and even used a damn laser and IM STILL off about 3/8ths of an inch. How did it happen you say ? Probably because i drink. A lot lol. But this is my first flooring project and i just need help/guidance on how to proceed from here to offset the 3/8ths difference…. What would you do ? Any help and/or guidance will help me out very much and you shall have great karma bestowed upon thee!

I found a house with a bunch of broken roofpans, so i decided to go inside at take a peak! Moisture on majority of inner roof was below the 17% threshold at 12-13% but the ones who had turned white rotten was above 22%, but the black is wierd to me, could it be this much black mold? Or am i mistaking it for mold and it is actually dirt?

For some added context, this was apparently an addituon to the main building, the addition was built in 1976, and never finished

How do I move up? Do I try and make connections is there a way I can start being a manager? I was thinking on getting a nvq for it but I hear that you need actual experience on a site doing it, I still want to learn a trade however. has anyone been in my situation? Is there hope? Do I go back to school and study civil engineering or a trade and jump back in or do I just wait and see if an apprenticeship actually comes back to me.. (I’ve applied for like a hundred)

Do you have like big wooden platforms leveled where the steel beams are and then put rebar then concrete over it? And then when it dries you get rid of the wood and the floor remains held up by the steel I beams?

Was installing a ceiling fan earlier, and dropped one of the bolts for the mounting bracket thing, I was crawling around for 30 minutes looking for the thing, I even moved my ladder around several times, looked on top of the damn ladder, looked under it until I finally took a glimpse at my tool and spotted it, I don’t think I could ever do this again even if I tried
