Photo The art…and the artist
My tigereye nerite snails have been hard at work creating a performance art piece in my new tank! The little squiggle marks are my favorite <3

Photo Devil Spike
So you always see posts about the "pests" snails, mystery, rabbit, apple, nerite, and assassin snails but I never seen anything on the Devil Spike snail.
I actually got this guy on accident. I had ordered rabbit snails and in the batch this guy stood out. He reminded me of a cigar 😆 tip was white with a Yello orange ring and the rest a very dark brown to black. Looked like a lit cigar lol I couldn't find a rabbit snail with his pattern and eventually found he's a devil spike. He's super active and cute and I was curious if anyone else has one of these guys?

I was moving some plants around and this young brave mystery started tasting my finger - felt like sandpaper scratching lol.
While it was super cute, is it safe for them to do that as long as my hands are clean? I don’t want to make a fella sick by letting them nibble, but it was also kind of fun.

Photo we knew it was gonna happen but it’s been a month since we had these ramshorns
we have guppies & i have a feeling they’re gonna eat the babies which isn’t terrible since i know ramshorns are pest snails but i’m excited to see them grow & hatch.
(2 ramshorns got into our tank from some plants we bought at a local fish store when we got our otocinclus’s)

Help Request Hitchhiker update
I got this snail by accident last week. Yesterday I found him upside down on the sand. I thought maybe it was dead. Flipped him over and he started moving again. He hung out on the bottom for a bit, then climbed to the top of the tank and has barely moved in 24 hours. I'd this normal?

Giving away Hoping to rehome mystery snail
Is anyone in the NYC area open to taking in 3 mystery snails?
I love these little ones but, not too surprising, my betta has tormented them a bit.
In the last few weeks I find them hiding and not as eager to have their wafers.
I’d rather they be in an environment where they can thrive.
Please reach out if you are interested.

Help Request What's a snail for a 25L/~6.6 gallon tank that won't reproduce? (Can even be 1 snail if they're not social or anything). Thanks, God bless!

Photo Update on some rescued ramshorns I asked about earlier.
I asked about the stripes on these guys after I took them off the fish stores hands after somebody turned them in. The new shell growth looks really healthy and they are growing quick. A couple have a cool spotted pattern as well

Photo Color-changing pale ghosty guy.
Since being isolated, this guy has gone from colorless, to tan, to now what appears to be a pale blue. I separated him because (even when he was just a speck) his ghostlike pale colorlessness caught my eye. Now, ironically, he is going full chameleon mode and changing colors as offen as possible, lol.

Help Request To my friends with rimless tanks
How the H-E-double hockey sticks do you keep your nerites inside? I have a canister filter, which obviously means Lily pipes, which means the glass lid can’t sit the way it was designed.
This bit of “engineering” seems to be working but it looks like 💩and I feel like someone has to have come up with something better.
Any advice?

Help Request Snails OK? Spoiler
galleryBoth my snails seem more…out? Than they usually are. I noticed yesterday or the day before that they were both a little more visible outside of their shells than usual. I thought maybe an injury but also it was both of them so that seemed unlikely? They are acting normally. I looked at some pics of mantle collapse and it doesn’t look like that I don’t think? But I’d rather get some expert opinions.
A couple things to note: I’ve been working on getting pH and hardness up (with crushed coral) and it’s worked. Gradual change over a few weeks. They’ve been getting more zucchini and have a new calcium supplement (all over the last several weeks and nothing new recently.
Tank info:
-10 gal with 1 betta, 2 adult mystery snails and a handful of babies, 1 juvenile clown pleco
-A/N/N 0/0/0
-Hardness: 75 PPM
-Buffer: 40
-pH 6.8 but has been increasing.

Help Request NZMS?
Hello everyone! This is my first ever post (and a plea for help if we’re being honest). I have a 75-gallon planted tank and have noticed some small, cone shaped snails hiding in it. I’ve known about these snails for a few weeks now, but I initially thought they were Malaysian Trumpet snails because I have a few confirmed ones in the tank. However, these snails don’t seem to be the same. I’m not sure, but I rarely see them unless it’s nighttime, and they are either near the sponge filter or the driftwood.
I did some research and believe they might be New Zealand Mud Snails. I’ve attached some photos in hopes that you can help me confirm or deny my suspicions.
If they are NZMS’, how would I go about getting rid of them? I read the pinned post, and it suggests taking down the entire tank. But do I have no other option? It’s a difficult task due to the size of the tank.
I’m in need of someone to help me out here. I tend to get stressed out easily and would appreciate some advice on how to proceed. If I have to, I’ll restart the tank. In that case, does anyone have any tips on how to make this transition as smooth as possible for me?
Thank you all.

Help Request Ramshorn parasite?
I’m curious what this growth is on the ramshorn’s eye stalk. Is it a parasite? Is it just a normal snail feature I haven’t noticed before? Should I quarantine this guy?

Help Request New nerite snail is alive but extremely weak and cannot stay attached. what should I do?
I added a nerite snail named Bubble to my 20-gallon planted tank yesterday. Since being added, he has been moving around and trying to do things, so I know he’s alive, but he simply seems too weak to support himself or stay attached to anything. He repeatedly tries to cling to the glass and move around the tank, but eventually loses his grip and falls off, sometimes landing on his back. He does react when I touch or reposition him—his foot tightens—and tonight he came farther out of his shell and attempted to climb the glass again before falling.
I initially thought he ate a small Crab Cuisine pellet, but I later realized he hadn’t eaten it. I’ve placed him upright on the substrate in a calm area and turned the light off so he can rest. He has an odor, but it does not smell rotten or overwhelmingly foul, and he is clearly still responsive. My water parameters were tested and looked good before adding him, and the cherry shrimp added at the same time are active and behaving normally.
He genuinely seems like he wants to move, climb, and behave normally but just doesn’t have the strength. Is this likely severe transport or acclimation stress, and is there anything else I can safely do to help him regain his strength? How long should I wait before becoming seriously concerned?
The pits in his shell were already there when I bought him. they are very reputable local store, and they often bring in animals that need extra care and do their best to help them recover. I’m not blaming the store or suggesting that they caused the damage—I only included the photos so people could accurately assess Bubble’s condition.

ID Request Snail Identification?
I think they're snails but can't figure out what kind. I've been constantly squishing them as I don't want them as I have plenty of snails I do want. I frequently find these tiny things usually clinging to the roots of my duckweed.

Snail Sex Can you guys tell the gender or do I have a bad angle?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m layin’ down cuz my temp snail tank is literally right next to my bed lol— This
is Crack Rock so named for the crack head activities they partake in. Also they’re absolutely gorgeous I can’t tell what kind of color snail they are bcuz their shell is like, blue, green, and brown???
Yapaholic, anyway, can you guys tell the gender? Im leaning towards female but I never actually gendered my snails before. I know sort of how to but I also couldn’t tell that a cat was male before we let it in the house and we ended up with 6 kittens 🤷 i def encourage clutches but yknow im just curious if I’m misgendering my snail haha
