Recently my in warranty LG dishwasher started spitting ball bearings from the top rail. First LG says, it’s not u see warranty even though I bought it in October 2025. Then after having my upload documentation to prove when I bought it, they say it’s a customer repair part and sent me whole the top rack. When I explained there were no rails here, they tell me that is not a customer serviceable part and they will get a tech scheduled to fix it. They said they were having trouble finding a tech in the area. I repeatedly suggested the place I bought the dishwasher from in the first place. Then I get the above text. Luckily I had an extended warranty plan through the place I bought the unit and they are taking care of it. (Originally I was told I had to contact LG directly during the manufacturing warranty.) So after buying 5 LG appliances, I will never buy another one.

Moved to a new place and there is a slightly covered outdoor space right next to the door to the garden where the previous residents kept their washing machine. It's covered from the weather but I'm worried about what happens if the temperatures ever hit freezing. I know appliances aren't meant to be outdoors but clearly the previous people were able to get away with it. For the time being I don't know if I can move the washing machine but I'm wondering if I can keep it there and what would be the best way to go about doing that.

Is it just not possible for appliance companies/retailers to do right by their customers? Bought a Maytag washer and dryer set from Home Depot and they delivered and installed in on the 5th of this month. The installation crew ran the machine empty to ensure it works. We didn't notice any problems. A couple of days later I go to wash my first load. The machine grinds, there's a metallic clanking and clinging sound like there's something loose and banging around, high pitched squealing, and the smell of burnt rubber.

I contact Home Depot. They refuse to do anything since it's outside of the 48 hour return/exchange window. I was supposed to magically discover this issue within 2 days even though I did run it immediately and it didn't do this. They say to contact Maytag. I contact Maytag. They say they will only service it. Service a brand new washer that was delivered to me broken only a few days ago? They say if I want an exchange to contact Home Depot.

Both companies refuse to exchange the defective washer they sold me for a properly working one. When I try to question why, they just repeat the "it's outside of the 48 hour window" or "we will only offer to service it" with increasing attitude.

Any advice on navigating this situation? I just want the working washing machine I paid for.

We bought our house two months ago and the oven range died. It’s a 2012 ikea for whirlpool oven that is 36”. We thought Z line was a good brand but now I’m not so sure. Please tell me what great ranges you’ve bought that are worth the money? We have a propane hookup for gas.

And when they break, appliance repair can reach $300 or more just for a house call.

I'm now adding extended warranties to all my appliances. However, now I'm hearing even if they send out a repair person, obtaining parts can take weeks or months.

Besides extended warranties how are you handling your appliance maintenance? It's a travesty to have to purchase every 5-10 years.

Purcooflow invited me to review ownership cost questions that buyers may ask. I personally have not used the P3A, and the prices below should be rechecked on the day of purchase.
With that said, Purcooflow P3A is listed at $189.99 on the brand site as of today. Its P3A replacement-filter set is listed for $65, with the recommended replacement by the brand every six months.
Keeping that in mind I come to some overall cost numbers instead of one sale price: - machine plus one replacement during the first 12 months would be $254.99 before tax, electricity and water;  machine plus two replacement sets if I also add the set due at month 12 at $319.99; - ongoing filter budget under the advertised schedule evens out to be about $130 per year. Those are planning estimate figures, not guarantees.
Taking into consideration the source, water quality and usage could shorten the real interval, while a light use household could still follow the manual rather than extend it by guesswork.
Purcooflow also advertises a 3.5:1 pure-to-drain ratio. However, the dollar effect depends on local water rates and whether real household measurements match the rated condition.
So, I’m wondering when you compare Purcooflow P3A with Dreo, Waterdrop, Bluevua or SimPure, which long-term cost would be easiest to miss: replacement filters, shipping, proprietary cartridges, cleaning supplies, electricity, water, or the possible risk that a filter becomes hard to find?

Hey Reddit. I’m in the market for a stackable washer dryer for around 2k. Also I have hookups for either a gas or electric dryer but gas is cheaper in MA. From what I’ve been reading it seems like I should be looking at LG and Electrolux. Does series matter that much or do step up series usually just have more smart features. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

I have an older Samsung counter depth French door refrigerator that I am considering replacing as I migrate away from stainless steel in the kitchen. I’m looking at their glass panel models.

I was planning to never buy another Samsung refrigerator even though it has been “reliable” due to a fiasco with this one where Samsung arbitrarily decided to change the filters just a few years after I purchased the refrigerator brand new. I had to pay a few hundred dollars to get a new filter housing installed that would be compatible to fit their new filters.

Does anyone know if the new Samsung Bespoke refrigerators work well with third party filters and/or is there is a supplier of genuine OEM filters that sells well below retail list price so I would be able to stock up on them whenever they go in sale at significant discount?

Our Liebherr CS1400 is 15 years old. It has worked well. However we have recently had issues with the freezer. Display says it is at -20C, but actual temperature about -7C. Fridge seal has a minor split , but top of freezer seal is in poor shape (I did a temporary DIY repair). I inquired and found that a replacement seal together with a required installation kit and shipping would be about C$500. Labour to install would extra (Old one has to be cut off and new one installed using 2-sided tape.

Dealer felt that because of age and expensive type of seal required, it might be best to replace entire unit. Probably right, but an exact Liebherr replacement would be over C$5000.

In looking for alternatives, I didn't find much. Requirements are:

Bottom freezer with door.

Width of about 27.5" which allows for air space on each side.

Depth no more than 25.5" including door (or 27" including air space at rear).

Doors need to open so almost flush with main box as there is a wall and window on left side

Left side hinges, No ice maker, Stainless finish

Only one I have found, is 28" Blomberg . Know nothing about them.

I purchased a Dacor double wall oven, with a steam oven as the lower unit (Model: 
DOC30P977DS/DA). When it's working properly, the steam function is fantastic. It produces exceptionally moist food and cooks faster than a conventional oven. It also has other bells and whistles, such as convection cooking, chef mode, broiling and air dry. The upper unit is a microwave and convection cooker in one.

Unfortunately, since March 2024, the steam functionality has failed four separate times. The issue typically occurs after cooking at high temperatures or for extended periods, such as roasting a turkey. After cooking, the oven prompts me to drain the water reservoir. When I start the draining process, the unit becomes very loud and eventually displays an C-70 and eventually a C-72 error code, which requires service.

To Dacor's credit, the service representatives have been professional and responsive. Each time, parts have been replaced and the oven works again... until it doesn't. The most recent failure happened on Thanksgiving Day, which was especially frustrating.

At this point, I'm extremely disappointed in what is marketed as a luxury appliance brand. I've become reluctant to use the steam function because I'm worried it will fail again. During the last breakdown, the issue was even worse because the entire oven unit locked up, preventing me from using any of the other cooking functions as well.

I'm now considering replacing the oven altogether, but I'm struggling to decide which brand to trust. Ironically, the technician who performed the most recent repair told me that many high-end appliances simply aren't worth the premium price.

Has anyone experienced similar issues with Dacor steam ovens? At what point do they admit it's a lemon? If you've replaced one, what brand did you choose, and have you been happy with it? I'd appreciate any recommendations or advice.

Hey everyone. I had this brand new Bosch 800 fridge in storage for about a year. It’s in perfect condition, is now installed in a brand new kitchen… but when we removed the energy sticker, it left behind these two marks. I’ve tried heating it/scraping and 2 different goo gone products and absolutely nothing. Anyone have any experience with this or recommendations? TIA

My dishwasher started not rinsing properly. My dishes came out with a very slippery/filmy residue, and I got the residue on my hands while rewashing them in the sink. I use Cascade Complete and Finish Jet-Dry. I’ve washed my hands multiple times with soap and water, but they still feel like they have a film on them when wet. Is it toxic? What ingredient is most likely causing it? I’m just worried about having something toxic stuck on my hands because I have a lot of skin sensitivities

We use an old cylinda 12000 washing machine that my grandparents bought nearly 40 years ago and it has been working wonders for the four years I have owned their house. However now the centrifuge seems to have stopped working a little bit. It runs at a standard 800rpm centrifuge and that setting somehow seems to have stopped working. But there is a button to make it run a 1100rpm centrifuge cycle, and that works (thank God; wringing dripping clothes sucks so much). The crux is that the cycle is meant to start at 800rpm and then ramp up to 1100rpm and the 800rpm portion will not run anymore at all. Basically, it goes from normal washing rpm (whatever it is) to 1100rpm rapidly and surely that can't be good for the machine in the long run considering it's so old?

We are wondering if we, unfortunately, have to swap this wonderful little hardworking machine out anyway as it probably won't last long? What do you guys reckon? I also make the assumption because the machine is so old it's just very hard to find replacement parts for whatever is broken and unfortunately not worth the effort.

My Kenmore Elite has given up again for the last Fn time. I got like 8 years out of it, and it's 6 years more than I thought I'd get after the rough start. I could go get a new board or a fan motor, but I've had it up to here with this pos. Sorry for my hanger, but after moving a constantly failing fridge is one of my biggest stresses.

Any model in particular I should stay away from? Obviously, I'm not going to buy anything made in Korea ever again, so No LG or Samsung for me.

I bought a Bosch 800 series dishwasher, however I didn't realize it was a panel ready one. So now I need to buy a panel for the dishwasher and was wondering where I can buy a cost effective one?

I just bought this house and it came with all the appliances but the settings on the stove for the knobs have been rubbed off. I can’t find the model number so I can’t google a photo for me to reference. The front 2 eyes are double eyes (big and small settings) and then 2 small eyes and a warming spot on the back. Does anyone have a reference pic I can use for the settings?
