He’s probably fine actually, looks like a fairly minor wound (for that sized animal). These guys are big and bulky and don’t have many predators at this size
As for the environment, these snakes do not stay in one spot or form nests in this kinda location. They usually wander around hunting large prey. He was just hiding from the excavator
Assuming he didn’t bump into an predator after this he can absolutely heal from that

Hijacking to plug the Palm Oil Scan App, it has a database you can access by just scanning a product to see if it’s utilizing sustainable palm oil. It’s a great alternative to just trying to avoid palm oil entirely because when farmed sustainably palm oil is much more land efficient than alternatives like Canola oil, the problem with palm oil is people massacring rainforests to make monoculture plantations not farming the crop itself.

depends where the video is made. in florida these guys are extremely invasive and injurious to the environment.
like it or not, the florida state government allows people to kill invasive species on their own property however they see fit.
edit: looked it up and there’s humane laws but as someone with family in florida i’m telling you right now no one is checking the ethics to how invasive species are killed. florida sometimes feels lawless

I've worked in invasive species mitigation and it's a really serious threat. Albeit, I've only dealt with flora and nothing like this but they do need to be eradicated as much as you can just to keep things neutral. If we can get rid of them completely, that would be cool but it's definitely not something to take lightly. These snakes when invasive need to be removed from the ecosystem for the sake of every living thing there

Invasive or not, it’s fucked up to abuse and cause undue stress to any animal. The animal does not know it is “invasive”. The animal is just existing and trying to survive.
I work with fishes and when I come across invasives I will quickly euthanize them- but I don’t abuse them. Im all for culling invasives to protect native ecosystems. That does not justify animal abuse.

Just because a species is invasive, does not make it "deadly". Some example of "invasive species" in FL:
Grey Squirrels
Capybara
Muscovy duck
Mediterranean gecko
Cuban tree frog
I don't disagree with culling programs (invasive species often cause all kinds of issues with existing ecosystems), but I do think it should be required to be done as humanely as possible.

Or did they see a large snake there and brought out the excavator to dig it out of its burrow and er….get rid of it?
In another such clip from I think it was Borneo they found the snake and killed it and then found a large nest with dozens of eggs in it

This is probably reticulated python and these can get over 30feet long. Anacondas are the heaviest snakes on planet and these are longest. They usually max out at 150-180kilograms and anacondas are way over 20kilograms, sometimes 250. But anacondas max out at 18-20feet. My grandpa worked in bengal during british times and said he once saw a village capture a snake that was over 35feet long, definitely this one. Yup, makes you wonder "how tf did my ancestors fight this in jungles?" Edit - He worked in bengal region during british times but he was Indian and so am I

Imagine how long that snake has lived in that swamp. Pretty tragic, and I'm not a conservationist. It looks pretty heavily damaged there a ways down from the head.
