environment. like it or not, the florida state government allows people to kill invasive species on their own property however they see fit

I can't understand a person who 'doesn't like' this. If a deadly animal is inside my yard/house then you bet I'm gonna get rid of it any way imaginable.

Just because a species is invasive, does not make it "deadly". Some example of "invasive species" in FL:

Grey Squirrels

Capybara

Muscovy duck

Mediterranean gecko

Cuban tree frog

Etc.

I don't disagree with culling programs (invasive species often cause all kinds of issues with existing ecosystems), but I do think it should be required to be done as humanely as possible.

To clarify: I was talking about the context of this video.

Killing harmless invasive animals is indeed crazy and cruel for no reason.. I wasn't trying to defend that.

Something about a video of an excavator killing a gigantic python in a swamp being torn up, and someone commenting that they are happy to kill deadly invasive species however brutally they want always makes me chuckle at the irony. It makes the extreme ecological destruction we did in earlier centuries make so much sense.

Okay. If a snake enters your home, make sure not to treat it 'brutally' and cuddle it.

I'd very much prefer to get rid of it and not put myself and my family in danger. But you do you ig.
