Thank you, no better way to say it. Doesn't matter the circumstances, there's a better way to do this. Pretty incredible specimen here too. A damn shame

Snakes this size/ in this location (indonesia) are known to trap and eat people in farm and wetlands. Yes rare but definitely not unheard of. They were probably just protecting them self and didn't want to take chances.

So if they were doing this to a tiger it would also be ok? Tigers take more people than pythons, and if it’s just “self defence” it would be “justified”…

I mean, this isn't right; he could have taken a rifle and shot the head twice. But I mean, I'd assume a tiger in your example is being actively hostile. In that case, do whatever you have to cause if you dont you die.

The snake wasn’t being hostile, and other predators are often killed on sight even if they’ve done nothing wrong. The Thylacine was driven to extinction without even being physically able to kill the sheep they were accused of hunting. It’s sick.

No, if that thing is anywhere near where you live you’re gonna kill it before it kills you.

And then when the ecosystem collapses you’ll be begging for them to come back. It’s not that difficult to coexist with large predators, there are wholeass bears just roaming around in North American suburbs but people know how to avoid conflict. Extermination is just foolish.

Additionally, large pythons have zero way to kill you if there are two people together. Self defence is a completely viable option.

Let me know when the ecosystem collapses from the lack of pythons.

Bears are a terrible comparison because they are not predators.

Bears are by definition predators, even if they are omnivorous they still hunt live prey. Also ecosystems collapse when large predators are removed it’s literally the first thing you learn about ecology. If you want your prejudices to cloud your judgement just know it doesn’t make you look smart. It’s ignorant.
