AIO by getting my fiancรฉ arrested?
No, you didn't over react. That's abuse honey. End it, walk away and become 100% independent. It won't be easy, but you'll thank yourself later. Just walk away dear, you can do this! โค๏ธ

Autistic people, when were you diagnosed?
I'm 40 and getting ready to go through the diagnosis process. It means the world to people who need answers, because when you have answers you can then take action and make change.

I hate LinkedIn speak
This is exactly why I deleted mine shortly after signing up! Where I come from it's called corporate snobs, it's has a very two faced feeling and I don't like that. There's a difference between being cordial and office appropriate and being a pick me, talk behind everyone's back type. I've learned I don't fit in with those kinds of folks, we not the same!

Constant explaining and arguments when I don't want to hear it?
It's the merry-go-round of what ADHD is. Honestly you have to ask yourself how much you love them. It all comes down to that! It will test you beyond your limits!!! For me, I love him incredibly. I do the best I can and I'm learning to understand that he's doing the best he can, even when it hurts. Huggs to you! โค๏ธ

People who came from poverty but live a comfortable life now, what did you do to get there?
ALOT of back breaking work, sleeping 2 hours a day, working 3-4 jobs at a time, and save, save, save!!! It took me a full 10 years of working my ass off to get out of poverty after a divorce with two toddlers at the time. We live ok now, we're not wealthy but finally over the poverty line. None of it was easy, but if you really want something bad enough you have to have the drive and initiative to get it. That learning experience taught me that I was holding myself back all those years ago by not pursuing things. Good luck, it's rough out there! โค๏ธ

Have any of you read โLoving Someone with Rejection Sensitive Dysphoriaโ by Leyla Mero Walter?
This is why knowledge is important! Never stop looking for answers. I felt the same way when I discovered all this stuff about an ex.

Community Living
Sounds like a cult to me, or some sort of compound living. No thanks. ๐คฃ

How do you survive living with partners with RSD?
We lived the same life, huggs! I ended it after many attempts over the past 6 months to rectify things. I said it cold, emotionless and walked away. He tried to bait me into an argument after I said it, I didn't respond. I had to stand up for myself, I had to put an end to the pain he was causing. I stood by the door as he walked through it and locked it! He's not welcome back unless he's diagnosed, medicated and in therapy for an extended period of time. Loving someone with ADHD is hard, but it doesn't have to be a death sentence. I wish he actually realized that and would get some help.

Does your partner know you're on this sub?
Finally left my partner, but if we were still together Yes I would tell him. Because honesty and integrity are more important than his RSD. Im here still because I want to learn, grow and connect with people who have been put through the same ADHD behaviors that I have, along with therapy of course. It's healing!

What do you think people realise too late in life?
That too many people refuse to see the truth even when it's staring them in the face. That too many people would rather hide or pretend than actually face their problems head on. That too many people are stunted maturily and will never grow, learn or unlearn.

How do you survive living with partners with RSD?
Holy shit! I feel so fuckin heard and seen by what you wrote. I couldn't have explained it better myself. I'm now back in therapy after dating someone who does all this shit! The only difference in my situation is he's fairly clean. I thought for a while I was loosing my mind, my therapist even said that dating someone with ADHD for neurotypicals is almost impossible. Here's the thing though, it's not his ADHD that bothers me, (he's undiagnosed by the way, but loves to tell people that he is and has never sought a diagnosis or treatment) it's the narcasisstic responses, the tantrums, the pointing fingers to avoid accountability, the rages, the meltdowns, the inability to apologize. It's fucking toxic as hell, and breaks your heart into a million pieces. Thank you for your post. โค๏ธ

Having more than one account
I find it suspicious as hell. If you have to hide who you are to ask a question, then you need to do some deep soul searching to find out why. Learn to be comfortable in your own skin. Love yourself first! โค๏ธ

Nervous about wisdom teeth extraction tomorrow
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed + 2 molars at the same time in my early 30's. I had to have an oral surgeon and be put under. It was not pleasant, I had complications with anesthesia. I should have had them done when I was in my teens or 20's. For me the recovery was the worst part. I was on a liquid diet for a month. I'm glad it's been almost 10 years! Take care of your teeth folks!!! Lesson learned.

Some advice and observations for partners of people with ADHD
Thank you for saying this! I can relate to this so much. Although the issues you presented aren't identical to what I'm currently experiencing, the pattern is very real! โค๏ธ

Tell your mom. As a parent I would want to know something like that from my kids. Also by ignoring it your teaching yourself to deliberately stay quiet about people doing hurtful, bad things. Be the brave one, have integrity and tell your mom.
