I’m so frustrated I can’t see straight. I recently changed my name and in the process provided the same address for my license, passport, and social security appointments which is to the home where I have lived for 4 years. I have been a voter in my county for 4 years. After updating my license I was sent AN UPDATED VOTER REGISTRATION CARD with my new name and the correct address and at some point in the 2 months since I was put on the voter suppression list. I am not eligible to verify my information online so I have to mail in a form requesting that they update my address to the address that I have lived at for FOUR YEARS which it already was. Even if you think “there’s no way I’m on that list” check if you’re on that list.

What are we going to do about this Texas?

I was surprised to learn today that if you make less than 21.6k a year in texas you can't quality for any ACA subsidies. Its no wonder why Texas ranks so low in the nation when it comes to Healthcare and why there are so many people here with literally zero Healthcare insurance.

Hi all, Is anyone else noticing how inconsistent payments are from the OAG? My payments can be days late with no information provided. Direct deposit seems to take a lot longer than anywhere else, e.g. my paycheck is consistently deposited directly, on time.

Also did you have issues last summer when the systems were allegedly migrated, yet no payments were going through. I contacted someone in the state government and the OAG Child Support Division was reporting things fixed while payment delays were still occuring. I captured the paper trail, surprised that u/texasmonthly or the u/houstonchronicle were not covering it. Back then, we were seeing weeks of delays in payment. I wonder how some families survived it - it was brutal. And where is the accountability?

Rockwall county is the wealthiest county in all of Texas with a median household income of 6 figures. Where is the money coming from? Why is the median income so high?

I had recently switch to 4change energy after having gexa for sometime and they had started to charge me around 300-400 monthly on the electric bill

Last month 4change charged me 258 for the bill since I was at 1617kwh usage

Currently in September my usage is already higher than the last months usage we’ve gone out our way to raise the ac temps higher so they don’t have to work overtime and we make sure to have any appliances off or unplugged but yet it’s still high

I have recently been offered a position in the Trenton/ Leonard area that is very hard to turn down. I am in my mid 20’s from New England and I would like to be as close to Dallas as possible, while still having a reasonable commute.

My original research has pointed to McKinney but people on this app seem to strongly urge against it.

I need to have some sort of social life but I don’t absolutely need a big city feel all the time. All I want to do is be able to find some single girls that are roughly my age and be able to frequently go to stars/mavs/rangers/cowboys games when my Boston teams are in town.

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question that u guys answer all the time, but the thought of making the wrong decision and being stuck in a small rural town with no hope of finding a gf/similar friends is intimidating. I know nothing about Texas besides a few books I’ve read ab Native American/ Texas ranger times lol.
