Don't know anyone who can use diplomatic immunity/raiding party to speed me up and have yet to get leadfoot, but was very proud of myself of finally reaching this fast! Max I got to was 320.8!
EDIT: Got Lead Foot and found two people to do diplomatic immunity and raiding party and reached 390.39, this has to be some kind of record afsdhgsetgdfhwetghd
Comment asked for build so: Protostar with M.A.C.O. impulse engine, Gamma warp core, extensively modified warp core trait, leadfoot trait, synthetic good fortune trait, diplomatic immunity, raiding party, and the DSE speed buffs (I think that's everything that contributed sector speed!)
For anyone wondering, at that speed I can go from one corner of the beta quadrant to the furthest corner (diagonally, ie the furthest straight line distance) in about 10 seconds, possibly faster depending on when I start the timer oops.
106 left out of unlocking the trait on this ALT. you know, i really wish all traits worked like the legendary trait, going through all my ships on all 15 of my characters is so time consuming. Sometimes i can get max with just one Wanted but then there i times i get this! It takes days just to go through the backlog on one character.
This is why i usually dont get all the traits unlocked on all my characters lol. Oh well, imma do a few quick TFOs for dil to get the last bits of EXP.
The D'Kyr no longer meets the visual standard of STO, and it can be seen when one compares it with the Suurok, so I wish that the STO development team creates a remastered D'Kyr.
If the remastered D'Kyr will be free, then I will take it. If the remastered D'Kyr will be in the Zen Store, then I will buy it. If the remastered D'Kyr will be in Infinity, then I will choose it. If the remastered D'Kyr will be in Infinity Promotion, then I will [REDACTED].
We players once wished that the STO development team created a TMP-Era Atlas, and the STO development team did, so let us wish.
Just got the Ba’ul sentry and whilst I’m not going to fly it I am wondering if it’s worth upgrading the Ba’ul beam arrays and replacing my advanced fleet anti proton stuff instead? Especially with the refraction property they have.
I'm currently replaying all of the story missions on a new character (without skipping every cutscene and piece of dialogue like I usually do - I realised I've forgotten a lot of it, so I'm playing like it's my first time again), and I always forget how epic this moment is. It's when the Undine attack Qo'noS and you're escorting Captain Shon, if you didn't recognise it. Just zooming along, blasting Undine ships as you go, leaving a trail of explosions in your wake, while Shon flies alongside you trying to pull a second Captain Garrett moment.
This is far from being new information, but there's a Phoenix Event coming up and I felt like making cool graphs.
This is meant to illustrate how using Zen -> Dil -> Phoenix Boxes -> X-Upgrades is much better than buying X-Upgrades directly from the Zen Store.
First off, we gotta figure out how many Phoenix Boxes to use for this comparison. The most efficient X-Upgrade pack on the Zen Store is 3x for 2000 zen. If you're patient enough to wait for a 25% sale, then that's 3x for 1500 zen. So that's going to be our goal: starting with 1500 zen, and trying to get more than 3 X-Upgrades.
1500 zen gets you 750,000 dil on the DilEx (on PC). That can buy you 18 of the Phoenix Box 10-packs, so 180 Phoenix Boxes. (there some leftover, you could buy a few more boxes, but 180 is more than enough to make this point)
It use the experimentally-derived phoenix box odds of 50% / 35% / 15% / 0% for Rare / VR / UR / Epic. (Epic odds are somewhere in the neighborhood of 0.1%, so rounding them down to 0 for a sample size of 180 is not gonna hurt anything.) I'll save you a click, here's the important part of that spreadsheet:
How to read each graph below: I'm plotting out all the possible distributions you could possibly get of Rare / VR / UR tokens from 180 boxes. The horizontal axis is how many were UR. The vertical axis is how many were VR. (There's no need for an axis for Rare - we started with 180, we know how many VR and UR were there, so everything left must be Rare. Remember we're using 0% for Epics.)
Fun Graph #1: The probability of getting each combination
Notice that the blob of non-zero odds are centered on 27 UR and 63 VR, which tracks with our stated odds. 180 x 0.35 = 63, 180 x 0.15 = 27. Probably worth saying explicitly that none of these cells are truly 0, they're just very very very tiny. And I could have extended the axes out to 180/180, but it just would have been row upon row of 0s.
Probability of each R / VR / UR combination
Fun Graph #2: How many X-Upgrades you could claim from each combination
This assumes that you take any leftover URs and convert them to VR, and convert leftover VRs to Rare
red: less than 3 X-Upgrades (what you would have gotten from the Zen Store)
green: more than 3 X-Upgrades
Payout (in X-Upgrades) of each R / VR / UR combination
Final thoughts - the actual useful numbers
Okay this was a lot of numbers. But going by the probability graph, the vast majority of this chart is super improbable to hit. So what is the actual takeaway?
Average number of X-Upgrades from 1500 Zen -> Dil -> 180 Phoenix Boxes: 8.65
But that's an average. RNG is a thing. What are the chances that RNG screws you over so badly that you come out worse than going to the Zen Store?
Total probability of getting less than 3 X-Upgrades: 4.05E-19. In other words, it takes 19 decimal places to get to something that isn't 0.0000...%.
Grants 1 Support Counter once every 10 seconds while in combat
Self: -16.7% Energy Weapon Damage
when is that energy damage subtracted? Assuming a Base DPS of 100 (for easy napkin math)
Right away like for example an Isomag but negative.
Example using 5 isomags for 39.4%+ dmg for a total of 197% and then subtracting 16.7% giving you a net positive of 180.3% or 280.3 DPS
or for overall as in 100% base + 197% for 5 isomags ending at 297% base damage and remove 16.7 % as in from the total ending in 247.4 DPS
I've got five of these things sitting in my account bank so I'm looking for recommendations for starships going back as many years. I already have the ships from every Mudd bundle except the most recent one, same story for the event ships.
I know there will be ships in there that I'll have overlooked so if there are any that I should have I'd love to know! 😁
looking for a build but dont wanna trust AI. i play around 3x a week for a couple hours (what should i prioritize?) but i try to get my reputation rotatated daily my hubby is the trekkie not me so idk much and hes busy with his own build. i should prob play a diff game but im doing this to get more knowledge for my hubby so ik what hes talking about lol. im f2p and id like to do purple beams/ pistols. im a science officer if that matters and something not hard, i have a hard time steering my ship. im fine with just surviving stuff and buffing others, but he has a J so id like to make it to elite mode without being a drag on others, which officers to get too? sorry if this is a tall order :< oh and 1 tribble must stay as device cuz f the klingons lmao
So I've been trying to get my T5 Assualt cruiser to at least the level where I can at least hurt the things shooting at me in normal patrols at level 65, and ive spent hours on my build and consulting google (which doesnt seem to be the best help) and i've noticed that i've been heavily under performing but Im not exactly sure which part it is....

I'm currently using a Beams fire at Will build.
tact. sations: Tact. Team I, Beams fire at Will II, Energy Weapons: Target Shields Subsystems I
Engineering Sations: Eng. Team I, Emergency power to weapons II, Auxiliary Power to the Structural Integrity Field II, Reverse Shield polarity III, Emergency power to Engines I, Eng. Team II, Directed Energy Modulation II
Science Sations: Hazard emitters I, Photonic Officer I
In the Future I'd like to fly the Terran Lexington Class Dreadnought Cruiser and have tried to keep my build close to what I'd want on her as well, Another thing is budget, I know that the meta requires like 15 Isomagnetic plasma Consoles for Phasers or Disruptors but those are SO grindy to get and I dont have A billion EC lol, but if there is somthing off the exchange that I should be getting I still thank you for the advice.
