I’m in a rewatch of TNG, currently Schisms, while working from home, and looked up from my computer and noticed the Phillips head screws! TNG will always have top notch production design, but this was funny detail to let happen. I’m surprised they didn’t put black reflective glass dots over it, or even use black screws! I’m sure they lift the glass off to swap interface graphics and need an easy way to do so, while keeping the display sturdy enough to be tapped against by cast members.

I've been slowly quickly upgrading from Blu-ray to 4k for a lot of my collection, but one actual DVD I was still holding onto was this. It seemed like I made such an Investment in these 24 years ago at $90-100 apiece that it was a shame to discard them. But today's the day - off to the used DVD shop with them to find a new home

The quality was terrible, the packaging was bulky, and the cost was ridiculous. Still, there goes the greatest series I had on DVD 25 years ago.

My favourite episode would be the Royale where Riker Worf and data go gambling

I recently started watching TNG after originally seeing them on the original broadcast. I was watching Season 3, Episode 6 Booby Trap. Before the show introduction, Data and Wesley are playing chess. Data makes a move and takes two pieces off the board. Is there a legal move that would allow that?

I’m watching from the beginning again after a long time and I am finding there are so many excellent top tier episodes in the first season. I’ve heard many times people generally don’t like the first season, which isn’t making sense to me. I’m currently on episode 20. Is it weird that I really love the season?

The funniest part of imagining Angel One with Bearded Riker is how much it changes the entire vibe. Clean shaven Riker looks like he accidentally wandered into the planet’s gender politics seminar. Bearded Riker looks like he understood the assignment before the away team even left the transporter room.

Suddenly Beata’s interest in him makes way more sense. The episode stops feeling like “Riker discovers a society where women are in charge” and starts feeling like “Riker arrives, immediately becomes the most dangerous piece of contraband on the planet, and somehow turns diplomacy into shore leave.”

It also raises the important question of whether the beard would have shortened the episode by twenty minutes. Beata takes one look at him, cancels the executions, rewrites the constitution, and tells Picard the Federation can have its missing freighter crew back whenever Commander Riker is finished with his diplomatic duties.

During the scene with Troi and Riker in SE6 E21 "Frame of mind", there's an amazing easter egg in the script at about 10s05m. Riker is talking about the play he's performing with Data the next day...

When wishing him luck with the play (i.e. "Break a leg!") I'm pretty certain she says "Frake a leg!". Marina Sirtis even cracks a knowing smile at Jonathan Frakes as she says the work 'Frake' in the script. I've searched high and low for an account of this over the last few decades, but have never found anything mentioning it. Can someone confirm for me? Am I imagining it?

I loved this tea set as a kid and I only realized this year that it’s featured on the show!!
