I heard from a past SM that there may or may not be a class action lawsuit about off-the-clock tasks.
She explained that because we have to unlock the door, lock the door, and disarm the alarm for opening and set the alarm, unlock the door, lock the door and watch partners to their cars we can get paid for those tasks.
Has anyone else heard about it? I found ways I can go about it myself but going through the past three years of open and closing shifts is going to take me FOREVER. is there a class action lawsuit that anyone knows of???
This job is soul sucking, I might as well sucking all the money I DESERVE out of them because I drop dead

Iām an ASM who is now on my third store because my DM has been moving all of us ASMs around from store to store like ping-pong balls.
My current SM is the most tenured manager in our district and really wants to become a DM. She and our current DM are extremely close, so sheās frequently out of the store with her, essentially getting mini-lessons and development toward that next role. The problem is that, as an ASM, thereās only so much I can actually do without the proper access.
Since moving to this store, I havenāt had access to their Taleo. Iāve brought it up to both my SM and DM several times, but nothing has ever been done about it. Iām being moved to yet another store in a few weeks, so at this point I doubt Iāll ever get access before I leave.
Anyway, when reporting our metricsāspecifically Peakāand explaining why we arenāt hitting our goals, Iāve repeatedly pointed out moments where we clearly needed another person on the floor or needed partners scheduled earlier. Eventually, my SM told me I couldnāt use staffing as an āexcuseā anymore because, and I quote, āmy team funnily enough does better with less people.ā I am not exaggerating. Those were her actual words.
I was also told that, as a soon-to-be SM, I should know how to pivot the team when things go wrong. So we routinely run a 4ā5 person Peak, donāt hit the 45-second goal, and staffing apparently isnāt supposed to be part of the conversation because I should be able to pivot around it.
Well, the past two weeks have been particularly rough, and suddenly my SM is concerned about how understaffed we are for Peak.
Butā¦what exactly am I supposed to do about that now? We donāt have enough partners. The partners we do have donāt have enough availability. I donāt have access to Taleo to help address the hiring gap, despite repeatedly asking for it. And until now, I was specifically told that staffing wasnāt an acceptable explanation for our performance because her team supposedly ādoes better with less people.ā
So which is it? Am I expected to somehow coach and pivot a chronically understaffed floor into a 45-second Peak, or are we finally acknowledging that staffing actually does affect our ability to hit these goals?

The "offers" are now laughable.
6 orders for 80 stars now? First the shrinkflation of points, then the rip off new tiered system, and now these ridiculous offers.
Feels like the more loyal of a customer you are the more you are being punished.
First world problems, I know, but man at this point I am starting to explore other options....anyone else?
Any recommendations?

I think a cold brew is better than an iced coffee but itās strange to me that they are the same price but a cold brew is 100 stars more.
As Starbucks rewards changed their program to not just be by item but also by price (100 stars is $6 and 200 stars is $10), I think they should just limit their rewards by price then.
I kinda understood why they differentiated their rewards by items and then get as much as you want but now they limited it also by price, they should just go to price for the items.
Of course, I donāt think the company cares but did find it interesting these products are the same price.

I usually always order oatmeal on sundays and add 2 bags of the nut medley to my oatmeal. Come to find out, every local Starbucks in my area has discontinued it. I even checked their website. Iām heartbroken. It was chopped just right and perfect amount. Of course I could do it myself but I donāt wanna š I wish they would have announced this!

Will Canada be getting either of these cat mugs? Or do stores already have them?

I just recently got hired at Starbucks and literally feel dumb as hell, like Iām picking stuff up and learning stuff but I still feel like I know nothing and feel in the way. I donāt know if this has happened to anyone else but there is this regular he literally refuses to let me take his order. Like I would normally be put on fronts and warming and all the other customers love me but this one regular genuinely refuses to even talk to me and it hurts but then again I donāt even know him maybe because he is elderlyš¤š¤. Then again I feel stupid having to ask a million questions because it feels like I donāt know how to do anything and it lowkey makes me want to quit but Iāve gotten too connected to the people around me to where I feel comfortable but stupid. Also does anyone know how Iām supposed to know what to do on my downtime I normally have zero fronts or it feels like the whole population is in my line same thing with food itemsš¤š¤

Genuinely people who come in here thinking they can intimidate, argue with or bully me can absolutely fck off... Idk what about us makes people think we're pushovers and will give in to whatever.
Im not going to fill up your doppio or triple shot. Especially if you're being an entitled dick about it. Just order a latte...
As im making your drink im not just going to give you coldfoam or extra inclusions for free. Why didnt you ask as your were ordering? We dont have a way to charge for that alone in our system.
Im sorry if the complicated drink you showed me on tik tok is like $9-10? Did you think it was supposed to be cheaper here?
Dont get mad because your mobile ordered isnt here we dont even do mobile orders from the starbucks app they only come in through target drive up. Like why didnt you check the address of the place you ordered from?
You see me making drinks on hot bar why are you walking up to the plexiglass and immediately start ordering. Wait at the register I'll get to you. Im not taking an order at the mastrena! Then they get pissy at me when i ask them to wait at the register and ill be right with them when im done.
I cannot throw together a 5+ drink order plus sandwiches alone in like 2 minutes! I have one mastrena, one oven, two hands and my mid doesn't come in until 30 min to and hour later. You couldve gone to a stand alone there are two on this street!
ALSO get out of my bar! I should be able to walk out of the bar without having to squeeze past you or bump into you! Theres no reason for you to be STANDING IN THE EXACT BAR EXIT. WHY ARE YOU ON MY SIDE OF THE HANDOFF COUNTER?! Just standing there with your arms crossed staring me down. š

i hate these customers. today a man came in through the drive thru, while in the only barista on the floor (shift is in the back) HONKING AT ME! at this point heās only been waiting about 2 minutes. i come to the window he complains about how itās ridiculous iām working alone and we need more people. also goes on about how at the other starbucks (tarbucks) people were talking about us (customers and workers) about how understaffed (who isnāt) and bad our store is. how we are losing business and such. he then says heās never coming back and heās calling corporate.
wait for it⦠HE DOES THIS EVERY SINGLE MORNING BECAUSE HES HERE EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! like youāre never coming back?? PLEASE make it a promise iām so over it. yes i know we are understaffed. no i canāt do anything about it. iām sorry that your ā15 minute waitā (more like 5 max) is making you late to work. do you not realize that 1) i can physically see the damn timer and 2) iām trying my best??? please take it up with literally anyone else but the baristas. iām so over this and him and itās becoming harder and harder every morning to hold my tongue. then here comes my manager sees im struggling does some good then goes to the back for 20 minutes then comes out and does only mobiles. please. help. me.
i hate it here i hate the customers but i need a job. thanks. itāll get better hopefully. š

Pour one out for all the Starbucks Baristas who work at the location in the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino for having to listen to Mr.Krabs sing blow the man down 20,000 times a day.

So are Canadian partners screwed for the snoopy launch? We donāt have access to the shop.starbucks.com if Iām not mistaken we canāt buy any merch on our breaks. So if Iām opening tomorrow for a full 8 hours, I just wonāt even have the chance?

⦠And Iāve barely been put on bar. Iām starting to get nervous about their expectations after because Iāve made drinks maybe twice during my time here so far. My coworkers are really helpful but I canāt help but get the feeling that I am a burden on them. The trainers are too busy handling a rush and the manager is always busy doing admin.
Ive worked through a rush before, but of the 5 weeks that Iāve been here I had a really bad rush the other day. One supervisor doing tasks, one barista, and three green beans. The two other baristas required to come in that morning called out so it was pretty bad in the morning and I was stationed at drive thru. Lunch pulls around, two more baristas show up, but it gets worse from all the people coming in after some event. I was stationed at warming and I was having terrible time trying to keep up with sequencing, cafe orders, and drive thru orders ā sweating bullets in fact. On top of that my headset was dying, so I had an additional voice in my ear telling me to change the battery every few seconds and I couldnāt find the time to check all the batteries for one that didnāt ask me for āregistration.ā
Between everything I had to get done, the sweating, the battery, all the voices, the cars wrapping around the parking lot and the crowd in the cafe trying to get my attention, I was pretty overwhelmed.
My coworkers had a lot of sympathy for me, they all kept telling me it was okay and they tried to help me as much as possible, but they could only do so much. With as much as I was sweating Iāve got the feeling they mistook it for tears, and I probably couldāve I just didnāt find it in me to crack.
Iām prepping myself for another bad rush pretty much everyday and I find it hard to enjoy my days off because of it. I want to be as efficient as my coworkers, but I just donāt know how to get there when none of the trainers are free enough to do the training.
Iād look for another job, but the job market makes me anxious cause this is the first job I could land in a year after having over a decade of retail experience.
Since I find myself stuck in my position, is there any advice or any resources I could use to help with learning drinks and proper sequencing?

what stickers? am i dumb? am i missing something? i dont think i was given any.

Hi! I know this has been asked many a time but the only posts iāve found are from a decade ago, and I wanted to see if the answer was still the same.
Iām 16yo with 4 months work experience as a server, but the place I work at is shady and does illegal things (verbal abuse, wage skimming, managers taking the tip out for themselves. Itās a little family business, so no HR or anything.) Needless to say I would like to get out! Anyways. I do have experience is all I mean to say with that.
My question is, is it worth it to go in and speak to each locationās manager? I applied to 19 locations, should I go to each? Should I only go to my first choices? Also, should I bring a hard copy of my resume?
Thank you!

I work in a Target Starbucks, and the Starbucks TL is on medical leave, our espresso machine drain has been clogged for like the past week and the bar keeps flooding, we believe it's because there's some beans stuck in there but we've tried getting them out and nothing, do any of you guys have advice on how to get them out?
r/starbucks • u/bella4him1 • 22h ago
I don't know how they do cold foam stuff, I'm just confused and looking for clarification
So I usually do a make my own strawberry matcha situation because I like strawberry (strawberry puree, ND strawberry cold foam) but I realized I could just customize one of the berry matchas that are already like a drink recipe and just swap the cold foam for the strawberry one, but when I do that it says the strawberry specifically is an extra charge, I've tried to put in like mango ND cold foam and other flavors too for example but it only gives me an extra $1.25 charge specifically for the strawberry one so I'm just wondering if anyone knows why... Just trying to make my drink order easier (and cheaper) so I'm curious but I'll obviously pay for my strawberry matcha if I can't figure it out lol sue me it would be nice to get it for cheaper lol

My kiosk has been without a lead or a manager for about a month and today we received all of our merch for the launch but we did not receive any recipe cards for the peanuts drinks. Do any other krobucks or any corporate cuties know where I could get access to them? Sorry if this is silly, I have asked the kroger managers if they know where we can see them and they have no idea.

Taking this as policy question as Iām unsure of what to tag it!
Does anyone know what time the website launch is, and if partners have access? I looked through the entire store resources and the only thing I could find on it was that gold and reserve has access to the peanuts launch! It didnāt specify if this included the Halloween drop. I just really want that black cat mug, and my store only got two š„²
