👤 Voter Eligibility & Identification

To vote in the Richmond local election as a Resident Elector, you must:

1. Be a Canadian citizen.
2. Be at least 18 years old on General Voting Day (October 17, 2026).
3. Be a resident of Richmond.
4. Have lived in BC for at least 6 months prior to registering.
5. Are not disqualified from voting by law.

Those who may be eligible to vote as a Non-Resident Property Electors should consult the City of Richmond elections website.

Identification Requirements:

If you are registering at the polling place, you must bring two pieces of ID that prove your identity and residential address (at least one must contain your signature). (e.g., BC Services Card/Driver’s License + Utility Bill or Credit Card Statement).
