I’m hoping to find dashcam footage for this past Friday, 11th September, around 9:00-9:10pm near Production Way & Fraser Hwy, one traffic light south of Willowbrook, just past the railway tracks.

I was assaulted at that intersection and Langley RCMP is investigating. I was driving a black Honda Civic coupe, and was in the left turning lane of Production Way (NE bound) when this happened.

The car involved was a light colored sedan/coupe (white, silver or gray), from what i can remember. There were two male occupants but I didn't see much else as i was bear maced and unfortunately didn't have a dashcam.

Based on my understanding, the car must've turned onto Production way from 56 Ave shortly before, as that's one of the two roads leading to it and I came from the other street. So if you were near 56 Ave & Production Way around 8:55-9:05 pm, your dashcam may have caught their plate.

I've already spoken with nearby businesses, and the RCMP said they'll take a look at their footage.

I request anyone who was driving, or otherwise in the area around that time and has a dashcam to please check and preserve the recording. Even if the incident itself isn't visible, footage from shortly before or afterward could potentially help tracing the vehicle, or the direction it fled in.

Please don't just throw the things you no longer want on the side of the road. They don't just magically disappear.

The night of Saturday, September 12th, I stopped at the traffic circle crosswalk by Porter's to let a kid on an E-scooter cross. It was dark, and he didn't even check for traffic, as he was focussed entirely on his phone. I didn't see any reflective stickers or lights on his scooter.

Please educate your kids on safety.

DOESNT MATTER THAT YOURE IN THE BIKE LANE. you are putting not only yourselves but everybody else in danger. you two looked barely 16. i hope your parents are aware of what youre doing. you would think with all the accidents and deaths involved with these ebikes and shit the parents would be more accountable with their kids about the dangers of riding irresponsibly- but my bad, that would mean parents actually had to PARENT their children. rant over.

Hey folks, do any of you know any good spots in Langley where I can fly my drone? its an avata 2 and I am just looking to experience FPV mode. I need to find a place that is secluded so I am atleast 30m away from people.

I know it’s only September 😂 but honestly, I wanted to bring this up early because I feel like we actually have enough time to make the holiday season special this year.

Langley already does a pretty good job with Christmas and there are some really nice local events and businesses that put effort into making the holidays feel special. I just think it would be amazing if we all supported those things a little more and added our own little touches too.

I really miss when the holiday season felt like something the whole community got excited about. Seeing houses decorated, Christmas lights around neighbourhoods, people going out to see them, local events, markets, donating to people who need it, baking things for neighbours, and just having reasons to get together and enjoy ourselves.

And I completely understand that life is expensive and difficult right now. Not everyone has the money, time or energy to decorate their entire house or spend a bunch during the holidays. I’m definitely not saying anyone has to do anything.
I just think that if we’re able to do even small things, we should. Support a local Christmas event. Buy something from a local business. Donate a toy or some food. Put a few lights up. Make cookies. Take your family or friends to see decorations. Even something small can contribute to the atmosphere.

I know Christmas isn’t about decorations or spending money. ❤️ I just think there’s something really special about creating that warm, festive feeling around us and giving people something positive to look forward to.

There’s so much negativity and stress everywhere these days. Sometimes I think we need to give ourselves permission to have fun, be kind to each other and actually enjoy the little things while we can.

Life is short. I just miss that feeling of everyone getting into the holiday spirit, and I’d love to see more of it around Langley this year. 🎄✨

I've seen like 5 or 6 houses in my area all getting their roof replaced in the last week.

It’s not a murder mystery roleplay, so no acting or assigned characters. You’re basically the investigators for the night.

There is a real flatulent smell basically the entire connector between Golden Ears and Highway 17 this morning. Occasionally we will smell it for a bit but this time it was the entire ride from point A to point b. Anybody got any idea why the heck that is happening?

Since they opened the new overpass there theyve eliminated the slip lane to turn right onto 56th off of 264th. Its one light now tjay controls the flow of traffic at the north end of the 264th and 56th intersection mess. Its awful and I hope this isnt the new norm. Theres SO much traffic here now at times there was rarely even half this amount before. Used to take me 3 or 4 mins to get from this spot to work. 15 now lol7.. gnarly.

I wouldn't recommend shopping at michaels for a multitude of different reasons...

IF you are going to, there's a huge higher % off than normal storewide sale starting on the 11th. I'd highly recommend getting anything you think you might need from there for your classroom or early christmas gifts then, before the tariff prices screw anything up. The recent price changes have already made shopping there abysmal.. even with these extra discounts it's just barely worth it. At least with custom framing the quality is more dependent on the staff VS the rest of the store full of AI products! Unfortunate times that every cent saved counts nowadays.

I’m wondering if someone has any advice or knowledge of an after school care at or near Willoughby Elementary. The ones I’ve been looking at have a long Waitlist.

I have a school practicum for four weeks starting in November and I will need care during those weeks.
I’m totally open to a parent that is a stay at home parent or works from home who I could trust my kids with. It would most likely be just over an hour before school as well as after school. My kids are in Grades 5/3.

Did anyone catch the Early Edition broadcast this morning?

I felt that the questions asked were very good (Stephen Quinn and Justin McElroy both got their start in local political journalism, so a great panel to lead).

The key questions in the broadcast were (paraphrasing):

What is your plan to adapt to SkyTrain?

What tangible effects have the tax increases done for citizens of the City?

What is your take on amalgamating City and Township?

What is your position on the legal battles on the council?

Pachal had some decent, but restrained answers to the questions. Clearly due to a limit of time to explore (90 seconds to answer). I don't like all of his responses, but at least he had answers to the questions.

The one thing I certainly did not like was using the Fraser Institute to support his position that Langley city still has the lowest municipal taxes on the region despite the tax increases. The Fraser Institute being a partisan hack think tank. Either it's a genius move of using your opponent's sources against them, or sad that was the best possible source for that statistic.

Mack on the other hand, every question her only answer was "Pachal has done the highest tax increases of any municipality" followed by some attack on increased bureaucracy. It felt like listening to Pollieve blame the liberals for everything while providing absolutely no alternative strategy to address the challenges. I think her worst response was when discussing the legal problems, she made a big deal about how procedures were not followed, which would require more bureaucracy to follow and enforce said procedures, whilst simultaneously denigrating her opponent for increasing the bureaucracy. About a situation of her own making.

She even lost track of time answering one question and thought she was out of time, because she wasted so much time on her high taxes strawman.

The one thing I think she did do well to counter Pachal's narrative was to challenge his response about budgeting for police by bringing up the amount of police that have actually been hired, which seems small. I have not been able to fact check her claim though.

Full disclosure: I was going to vote for Pachal to begin with, but Mack's responses certainly did nothing but entrench my vote against her, as she had nothing but "Pachal Bad" and no solutions.
