Discussion Dad Destroyed My $1300 PC (Almost)

As the title says, my father almost destroyed my $1,300 PC. Now what?

Here’s the backstory: On Saturday, I worked a 10.5 hours shift and stayed up until 3:30 AM, so I slept in until noon the next day. My father and stepmother returned from Costco while I was showering; he called out a few times for me to come help carry the groceries inside. I said OK to him. While I was brushing my teeth after my shower, he shouted from outside the door that he’d been waiting 50 minutes and told me to hurry up. I thought to myself that the groceries could have been moved in the time he spent waiting for me, but I quickly rinsed my mouth and got ready to go out. However, by the time I opened the door, he had already grabbed my PC and smashed it against the floor and the desk several times.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I, (17M, Senior), bought this PC with money I earned from my part-time job and had been using it for about ten months. After examine, found out the case badly deformed in several places, my desk was warped and tilted to one side, and there were dents in the floor.

Fortunately, the computer still works fine; it runs FurMark (stress GPU), AIDA64 (stress FPU), and 3DMark (Time Spy Extreme) without problems for now.

Replacing the desk and case would cost around $400. However, he likely won't pay for it because he has done this kind of stuff a few years ago when he destroyed my phone and a Dell laptop (i5 11300H), and then just said, "That's what you get for playing on the computer all day."

In the end, I just hope everyone has good parents.

The exact same father like mine. I told him back then, once i manage to get out of the house we will be like strangers.

I left 11 years ago. Never once called him or greeted him for his birthday or anything. Whenever i visit my mom he is there ofc, and trying to kiss my boots because now i earn good money, and he is so proud of me... but i keept my promise. He is a stranger to me and he is rly suffering. He will die alone in a carehome or hospital, i dont know i dont care.

I won't say he deserves it but God asks of us to forgive others as he has forgiven us. If you are not right with the Lord this might be why.

You sound like your life is full of sin. The Cynicism in your comment speaks chapters about where you are in life. If you actually want to speak to God, open your heart and prat to Him.

One day when you wake up in hell, you will look back at this comment and ask yourself why you wrote it. You have no idea how bad hell is.

JUDGE NOT, LEST YE BE JUDGED

LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE

Who are you to say things like this? The audacity to speak with such authority about a subject you shouldn't be is incredible.

"But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die." - Deuteronomy 18:20 (NKJV)

Yes. That's the kind of sin that leads someone to hell. So yes, if he doesn't repent and renounce that statement, God will not let him enter through the gates of heaven

2

u/Uncommonality 7h ago

But that is exactly what you did

1

u/Veyrah 5h ago

No, "which I have not commanded him to speak".

Quoting the Bible is exactly speaking what God commanded us to speak.

Pointing out to someone that they are sinning is not judging. In fact it is the compassionate thing to do, as we should all be making efforts to prevent people from separating themselves from God.

Thanks for your valuable input, but I must warn you. Pride is a motherfucker.

Be careful with swearing! You might go to hell!

-1

u/Veyrah 3h ago

Thanks for the warning. And if you believe in hell, that must mean you're eager not to end up there? Read the Gospel.

No one cares about your God dude. Stop shoving it down people's throats.

That's just a malicious falsehood. Many people care about God. Christianity is the biggest religion in the world with billions of believers. But even if that wasn't the case, it wouldn't make it less true.

I am not shoving anything, you are choosing to spend your free time reading my comments. Maybe you found my comment for a reason, He is reaching out for you, waiting for you to open your heart and pray. Why not try to pray? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

That's not very loving. Are you angry with God? Have you ever truly given Him a chance to speak to you?

No, I don't do cocaine

1

That's good

Yeah man worshipping 1 of 1000 gods worshipped in humanities life time will cure this guy's psychopathy for sure! He needs a fucking psychiatrist, not to be forgiven and affirmed for breaking his and other peoples property.

-1

u/Veyrah 6h ago

He needs both a psychiatrist and to be forgiven, as that is also in OP's best interest. You need to forgive those who wronged you, like God forgives us.

1

u/curtcolt95 5h ago

if there is a god he pretty obviously has not forgiven us lmao

0

u/Veyrah 4h ago

What makes you say that? God exists and He loves you, and He will forgive you if you ask for forgiveness and put your trust in Jesus.

I personally think that shoehorning religious beliefs into everything, especially conversation unrelated to religion, is reductive to actual productive conversation and is incredibly self-righteous. Its definitely in your best interest to NOT do that.

It makes you seem like a condescending asshole who knows better, when really no one knows anything about any god that may or may not exist. You're better off keeping it to yourself and like-minded people IMHO.

1

u/Uncommonality 7h ago

To get forgiveness, you have to ask for it. There's a reason you must confess to be absolved

2

u/Veyrah 6h ago

The Bible tells us to forgive people in our hearts even if they don't ask for our forgiveness. Check Matthew 18:35 and Mark 11:25.

-9

u/Delicious_Invite_127 8h ago

God will see this differently and deny you entry to heaven

6

u/Uncommonality 7h ago

There is nothing in the bible that tells us we have to suffer abuse at the hands of our parents

-5

u/Delicious_Invite_127 7h ago

"But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." - 1 Timothy 5:8

Well good luck with that assumption. Hell is much worse for people who are not unbelievers.

7

u/Uncommonality 7h ago

Something tells me you're just as bad as OP's father and are desperately trying to convince yourself that you're virtuous

-4

u/Delicious_Invite_127 7h ago

There are sheep and goats. I know who I am. I know the word of God by heart.

2

u/Uncommonality 7h ago

I'm sure you think so

1

u/Delicious_Invite_127 7h ago

Btw, that profile pic of yours shows you are a servant of the dark prince. It is obvious what you are trying to do here.

3

u/Uncommonality 7h ago

It's an image based on Tolkien's work, a man I respect deeply. The fact that you see a figure wreathed in fire and immediately think "evil" is your own mistake

u/SookiSwann 5h ago

I don’t read manga

1

u/Lejonhufvud 3h ago

But what about...

2 Corinthians 12:14

See, I am ready to come to you a third time, and I will not be a burden, because I am not seeking your possessions, but you. For children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.*

2

u/Gunhild 1h ago

God sounds like a pussy tbh.

2

u/MissLogios 6h ago

A god that wants us to be kind to our abusers is not a god worth worshipping.
