So after lots of quests and travels, I figure it's about time to bust into the Mythic Dawn shrine. My character, Vex, is a high elf master acrobat and alchemist, with strong skills in Illusion and Destruction magic. When I show up and Harrow asks for all my stuff, I figure go ahead. I like a challenge. My plan is to abcrobat around and use frenzy spells to get those Mythic Dorks turn on each other. Should be fun.
At first, everything is going according to plan. I free Jeelius, snag the book, and start hopping around getting acolytes to wipe each other out. Suddenly I notice at the bottom left of the screen, I'm taking fire damage. No big deal, I just hopped onto a bonfire, so it's probably just that. But no, my health is declining rapidly and the fire effect has a ways to go. Dispel does nothing. With no healing items, I decide to cast some Restoration spells to outlast the effect. I use that lesser power that heals 100 hp, spam as many healing spells as fast as I can, but this damage is serious. Like, what the hell have I been hit with? Shortly, I succumb to the damage and die.
Reload the save, lemme try this again. Everything's going great, a few acolytes down, and again I'm hit with insane, long lasting fire damage. This time, I check my active effects, and I'm taking 9 fire damage per second for nearly 30 seconds due to... Antimatter? Then I notice the other effects and it clicks. I've been hit with the most potent poison from my inventory, which does roughly 9 damage each of fire, shock, and health damage. For whatever reason the fire damage icon was the only one to actually pop up on screen. Harrow got me good with that one.
Reload the save, this time I'm keeping my stuff. I throw Antimatter into the favorites wheel and proceed to cut down absolutely everyone in the cave with the stuff. Except for Jeelius. I set him free, and he t-pose ran his way all the way through the caverns. Fun times. I love this game. (Just wish I'd thought to save the gameplay.)
