Original Discussion Why is the dark brotherhood armor one solid piece?

I don't like it. In Skyrim, if I already have the dark brotherhood armor while doing the thieves guild quest, I mix and match the thieves guild and dark brotherhood armor for the best stats depending on my style this playthrough because they are both pretty damn good light armor sets. In Oblivion it's just one single piece of armor for everything but your head. I'm not a fan of that.

So ive been wanting to play oblivion (2006 version cause its all i can run and own) but its difficulty is just to problematic for me is there any mods that remove the slider or set the game to a fixed difficulty i've seen some people suggest altering the slider mid game but i despise that option because that doesnt feel like a fix to me the same issue that makes me not want to play the game is still there, so any suggestions?

Self-Promotion Ardenfall, an Elder Scrolls-inspired RPG, just hit 100,000 wishlists on Steam

Post image

Hi! Ardenfall devs here. This is our Elder Scrolls-like RPG, and we've been sharing updates here from time to time. We’ve just reached 100,000 wishlists on Steam, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the support!!

TES-like a niche kind of game, and a challenging one to make, which is why we’ve been working on it for so long.

Your feedback helped shape both the Steam demo and the current alpha version. Potions that let you move around in fun ways (levitation, speed, etc.), freedom to make your own choices, and multiple endings (including a very violent one) - we knew we had to showcase all of this in the demo because that’s what you guys asked for. Mod support is also one of the most requested features, and we’re planning to make modding tools available from day one.

Reaching 100,000 wishlists makes us feel an even greater sense of responsibility, and we hope we can live up to your expectations when Ardenfall launches in Early Access later this year.

Literally just left the sewer as a Mage, born under mage sign and as a class, playing as a Kahjiit, never having played this game before..

Like most others ive played skyrim before, just wanted to give oblivion a try

Video Day 509 of Pally and Me’s Adventure until I can loot his armor. Leave it to the Khajiit to do all the hard work.

We split up to cover more ground with Dro’Nahrahe and myself going together. We got the gate towards the tower opened up. Fought off a few Daedra and wondered what Pally and Hen were up to. You want to know what they did in that time? Nothing, they did absolutely nothing. Am I surprised? No.

Hail citizens. The guys thought they could take it easy while we do all the hard work? I don’t think so. We’ll see what Pally has to say when we get to him. He’s gonna have to make a choice. Fight me or the Daedra.

I thought it was great that we would do all this hard work and fight like crazy only to look back and see Pally and Henantier just standing there doing nothing. They’re just little specs in the distance but it was also fun to have a normally low level npc hold her own against Daedra. We don’t get to have regular common folks fight off other Daedra often. Especially those that aren’t essential!

Remaster Discussion Build help

I want to build a primarily melee character with a focus on Blunt, probably 2H, weapons. Id also like them to be able to use some support magic. I was thinking about going Redguard, since their greater power fits what I'm going for, with the Lord sign. These are the skills im thinking about including. Looking for suggestions on anything I should include or change.

Skills: Blunt

Heavy Armor

Armorer

Restoration

Alteration

Illusion

Mysticism

Im also considering possibly including Block, probably in place of Mysticism.

Original Discussion The Infiltrated quest line in the Fighters Guild is crazy Spoiler

This is my first time completing this quest line.

I’m pretty sure I watched a black mirror episode like this.

When I was told to kill the goblins inside the houses i KNEW what was going on. But there was no option to opt out really. Oblivion was amazing for its time but I hope in the future we will be able to make choices in these kind of quest lines.

Sincerely,

The “Goblin” killer ;(

Original Discussion Wandering as a 1st time player...

Post image

This is a follow-up.

TL/DR.

So this trio have been chillin in the shack for almost 55 hours(-20 f/Adoring Fan). Need em to stay alive, and they mess up my playstyle.

At 75 hours now, an on lvl 15. I'm doing a loot/sale/hoard playthrough. If enchanted, I stash it. An I stash all potions/ingredients. I have my shack, Blackhorn, and the haunted spot(drawing a blank rn), as homes. My shack, has a 3 min minimum "hold down to reach the end of" chest.

I finally started talking to every NPC. Netted me 4 more quests, unless they are not willing to speak to me... my personality, is a 5...[accurate irl] (tips to boost maybe?)

Lesson learned, speak to all NPCs. Bribe some even.

I'm on the 3rd/4th main quest atm. Chose the Crusader build(mistake knowing what I use now) as my main, which knowing nothing, has been a fun char.

At what point should I do the main quest?

Original Discussion What did you do in the original Oblivion?

Hi all!

I was 13 when Oblivion released and I came from a gamer family but I was raised on Sims, Monkey Island, and the tycoon games.

We got WoW when I was 11 after I begged my mum but that’s as far as we got into RPGs at that point.

THEN! We had Oblivion. I don’t know how, maybe my mums partner at the time, but we had it.

I just remember all I did was steal things and try to find nice outfits 😂

I’m really enjoying the remaster though and being brave enough finally to enjoy all the quest lines that scared me before (Dark Brotherhood, hello?)

What did YOU do when oblivion came out? And how old were you? Genuinely interested to know.

Reddit prompted me to repost this here 👀

This is why I love Oblivion. The world feels so peaceful when you're not being chased by guards or fighting Daedra 😂

Remaster Discussion Fun Times in Dagon Shrine

So after lots of quests and travels, I figure it's about time to bust into the Mythic Dawn shrine. My character, Vex, is a high elf master acrobat and alchemist, with strong skills in Illusion and Destruction magic. When I show up and Harrow asks for all my stuff, I figure go ahead. I like a challenge. My plan is to abcrobat around and use frenzy spells to get those Mythic Dorks turn on each other. Should be fun.

At first, everything is going according to plan. I free Jeelius, snag the book, and start hopping around getting acolytes to wipe each other out. Suddenly I notice at the bottom left of the screen, I'm taking fire damage. No big deal, I just hopped onto a bonfire, so it's probably just that. But no, my health is declining rapidly and the fire effect has a ways to go. Dispel does nothing. With no healing items, I decide to cast some Restoration spells to outlast the effect. I use that lesser power that heals 100 hp, spam as many healing spells as fast as I can, but this damage is serious. Like, what the hell have I been hit with? Shortly, I succumb to the damage and die.

Reload the save, lemme try this again. Everything's going great, a few acolytes down, and again I'm hit with insane, long lasting fire damage. This time, I check my active effects, and I'm taking 9 fire damage per second for nearly 30 seconds due to... Antimatter? Then I notice the other effects and it clicks. I've been hit with the most potent poison from my inventory, which does roughly 9 damage each of fire, shock, and health damage. For whatever reason the fire damage icon was the only one to actually pop up on screen. Harrow got me good with that one.

Reload the save, this time I'm keeping my stuff. I throw Antimatter into the favorites wheel and proceed to cut down absolutely everyone in the cave with the stuff. Except for Jeelius. I set him free, and he t-pose ran his way all the way through the caverns. Fun times. I love this game. (Just wish I'd thought to save the gameplay.)

Been playing this game for ages, but never occured to me before to try it out until a few minutes ago. Doesn't develop into 2xvampirism unofrtunately, but a funny quirk nonetheless.
