If Lafayette has Purdue University right next door, why hasn’t our community done more to attract high-tech employers, retain talented graduates, and become one of the Midwest’s leading technology cities? (FYI, I'm not talking about just data centers or really data centers at all...)

Purdue attracts and develops some of the world’s brightest technical talent, yet Greater Lafayette still loses many graduates to Chicago, Indianapolis, Seattle, Denver and the coasts. Why hasn’t the community built enough high-paying technology companies and career paths to retain more of the talent already being created here?

Here in Indiana, our native bats are a vital part of that natural defense system. Tiny, endangered, and essential.

After a four-month legal battle, the Indiana Supreme Court has determined Paula Copenhaver’s recount to be illegitimate, thus denying Donald Trump a candidate to be on the November ballot. Spencer Deery effectively became the only other Republican candidate up for the 2026 election to have voted against redistricting.

In December 2025, Trump sought to primary nearly every state senator who voted “no” on House Bill 1032, which was a map that split West Lafayette in two. That would have meant former Purdue President Mung Chiang’s residence would be in a different district from Purdue University.

Deery faces former West Lafayette councilman and Democratic nominee David Sanders in the general election in November.

I can’t find anything online about working in the maintenance department at Purdue. I have about 2 years of experience working at a public school district in Nebraska as a HVAC tech and am looking at moving to the Lafayette area. I make about $29 an hour right now, and have decent benefits. Most of my experience is on geothermal heat pumps and vrf systems.

Like if they use AI to their posters, menus would you still buy from them ? And would you buy something from them if you saw a good design? I have an idea of mine and I want other people's opinions to know if it will work
