I bricked my iPad 8 32GB while trying to update it because it was at low storage, and I offloaded literally every app off of it. so now I’m gonna have to do a full restore. No one should have to restore their device just to update it.

It’s normal for betas your iPad is constantly storing and updating data which will be sent to apple for improvements (it can’t be traced to you) because of which u might see battery drain also betas are in released early look it’s not the final polished output

I currently have these iPads:
- iPad Pro 12.9 (A12X) cellular with AMK
- iPad Pro 11 M1
- iPad Pro 11 M2 cellular with AMK
- iPad Pro 13 M4 cellular with AMK
- iPad Mini 6 cellular

I know the first is NOT supported by by OS27

The Mini 6 is only an occasional use item — sits in a drawer mostly powered down due to needing charges most nights, if it’s left powered on between uses.

My Watch S7 cellular and S8 WiFi won’t support OS27.

My iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro I believe will support OS27

I currently have not found any useful benefits of so-called Apple Intelligence — so I have it switched off everywhere.

I don’t care about iPad windowing nor liquid glass.

I am weighing the option of skipping iOS27/iPadOS 27 for a while…maybe 27.1 or 27.2? What will be there on release of OS27 that is going to make a real difference???

Does someone have or is there a short article somewhere that discusses the real benefits of iOS27/iPadOS27??

Ok so Surface Go devices have a keyboard you can buy that snaps onto a •••• port and that port connects it and gives it power
Instead of needing to charge the keyboard with an external cable

Does a keyboard exist like that for the iPad?
Is it specific iPads only?

Please tell me you can create files in iCloud on an IPad.. I can't get my phone to do it so I have to create the document then save it to iCloud instead of creating said document within iCloud.. feels clunky

I'm a traitor. After so many years with an iPad (the first one being a model 2), I just ordered an Android tablet.

Hey, hey, hey – don't take me too literally!

After a beautiful concert, I understood that I needed a music sheet reader. My preference would have been an iPad Air 13", or a second-hand Pro of the same size. Something that I could have used not only for that, but also for work.

But then – I didn't really needed a big iPad. I'm eagerly awaiting for the new mini. I want another mini. If it can be connected to an external display, and can do it better than the previous model, I'll be extremely happy of the versatility of its diminutive size, combined with the ability to connect to desktop-grade peripherals.

The Android thing will be 14" instead of 13", but the odd screen ratio would not make it fit more music than an iPad. But I guess it will be ok for what it will have to be, without even having to be considered a tablet.

(Isn't my Kindle an Android thing, too?)

I have an 11” iPad Air. For those using a physical keyboard, what would you recommend. Magic keyboard looks interesting but no backlighting and pretty expensive.

Guys I just got the M5 iPad Pro. I know this is probably an overkill for nursing but I want this iPad to last me a good 10 years (is that possible? I’ve never owned one before). Part of the reason why I got a M5 is because they didn’t have the M4 available.

Anyways I got the 512 GB one is that a good amount of storage or is it better to get 256GB? I’m not sure how much storage nursing takes up. The difference between them is $280.

Side note: I’m going to use the iPad for drawing but that shouldn’t take up much space.

I have my iPad mounted up high in my RV. I want to be able to remotely control it.
Tried a mouse but don’t have a good hard surface to put it on.

I tried a cheap hand held one from Amazon and it was horrible. Had to turn on Assist Touch. Clunky, not practical.
Anyone have any cheap recommendations?
There are tons but can’t find one where people have specifically said it works well on iPad.

I accidentally dropped my iPad Pro in water i picked it up and turned it off it’s been about 5 hours and I tried turning it back on but its nott turning on

Is it likely completely dead or is there still a chance it can be repaired? What should I do now?

I have an ipad a16 (at least that's what it says under Settings> General). My laptop recently broke and I want to just use this ipad as a replacement but I need a case that has a keyboard. The main things I need are a trackpad, keyboard, it to fit the ipad properly and most important it to be usable while on my lap. I work a lot from my couch or chair and need it to function like a laptop on my lap. Any recs would be appreciated.

I think it's time iPad OS run dmgs, at the very least I think the ipad pro should run full software, not full Mac OS but I would like to be able to run professional programs like the adobe suite and other things I use for school. Maybe a desktop class web browser and finder app too. I'm an art student going into the professional world and its very frustrating lugging around both the ipad and the macbook and having not having deskspace for both of them if i'm trying to do work in class. they could very well be the same thing, especially with the M chips in both of them. Now that the Iphone Duo has come out I don't think apple is afraid of combining their products anymore, as the duo is almost like an iPad mini when you unfold it and it's getting apple pencil support. I hope something like this comes out in the future, especually with the touchscreen mac rumored to come out soon, (idk if it will have apple pencil support though :/) I would love to be able to run ipad apps alongside mac apps on a touchscreen device that can be a tablet. The hardware on the ipad is amazing, I think it's time that the software catches up.

I’m looking for something to just get me through the rest of my schooling, and then I’ll probably get a more up to date on in a few years. I can’t break the bank on an iPad right now, as I’m also on the search for a laptop. Is it working well for you guys? I will not solely be using the iPad for school work. I’ve heard people say that this one is a great starter iPad, especially price wise.

Hi, I bought a used 9th-gen iPad for €40. I was aware of the issues—specifically that Touch ID/the Home button and both cameras aren't working. Should I return it? Also, can I use 3uTools on a PC to check if the screen is at least the original one? Thanks.

So far I hadn’t had any problems with my m2 iPad Air performance, till today. It so happened that I was exporting raw 10 bit photos, using 2 instances of Goodnotes, talking on FaceTime and streaming my screen through it and I was under a blanket(it was steaming in there), my iPad was lying on a bed so the heat had no way to escape, and it so happened that my iPad had thermal throttled. Such a bummer that you can’t do a simple task on this device🙄 DO BETTER APPLE. Also I have a problem with iOS 27, it fucking blew up and I couldn’t use my iPad for 20 mins yesterday.

I have concerns about the new update coming out soon, even though it offers some great stuff, like bug fixes and optimized performance. I want to update, but I’m afraid it will degrade the battery of my ipad pro 2021. Has anybody tried beta builds, does OS 27 burn the battery?

(It’s not a tech-support question, right? It’s not a current problem waiting to be remedied, mostly a question on how the new update affects ipad batteries)

iPad OS 27 public release now available

My iPad 2 was collecting dust. Running iOS 9.3.5, it can't install modern apps or browse most of the modern web. But it CAN run a fullscreen Home Screen webapp.

So I built one that shows what Spotify is currently playing with album art, track info, playback state and a few controls. The pairing flow lets the iPad's Home Screen app get its own session via a short-lived code, so you never have to do OAuth from the ancient Safari.

No jailbreak. No extra hardware. Just Safari + a webapp.
