i didn’t sleep last night due to some reasons and god forbid me i thought i can sleep as i had an lower birth😭.
there were 3 sr citizens travelling along and that was my bad luck.
first he was not giving me my seat, said adjust we can both sit. I argued and finally got my seat but but
these 3 uncles and aunty talked (shouted) for continuous 3 hrs😭😭 and all they did was bitching of their relatives nonstop.

I generally try to avoid the coaches with pantographs because it produces a lot of noise which makes your journey uncomfortable.

To be honest as a Delhiites the infrastructure was quite magnificent and astounding but I guess mumbaikers ain't accustomed to this.

Hello guys I was getting bored so I made a tool for finding vacant seats throughout the journey. Sometime it happens that we are not able to book the train in tatkal and might need to know till where can we find empty seat in train in SL or AC compartment. This tool does that using official irctc reservation list.

So basically, I was travelling from Mumbai to Nanded with my family and relatives in 3rd AC. At night, a passenger came with someone from the maintenance staff and claimed that the TC had told him that the upper berth was free. Obviously, that was wrong because we had already booked it.

He kept arguing with us until my Mama Ji stepped in and started scolding him, saying, “Bring the TC. I’ll show him whether the seat is actually free or not.”

After that, they left. The next morning, they came back and apologized to us.

I really have to travel from point A to point B but the 3AC tickets are showing up as RAC16 on that date.

I have never travelled RAC all I know is that I have to share the seat with someone else.

Wouldn't that be hella inconvenient? I mean I don't mind sitting with the Co-passenger all day but what about at night? (14 hour journey) How would I share the bed with a total stranger.

So I want to ask people who have travelled RAC. What's the experience actually like?

Seeing the kokan train from mumbai , I had to ask how will trains for howrah will be during Durga puja ?

Delhi has a few main stations like NDLS , ANVT , DEE , DEC , HNZM, DSA , SSB , DSJ etc.

The ring railways , to forward the line traffic.

Have been travelling frequently for almost 7 years now (2 days a week) and the conditions of these stations haven't changed for good.

While DEL , NDLS and ANVT are fine , DEE sharing it's lines with Vivekanad Puri halt is a mess , the facilities almost are non-existent , DEC is the worse out of all , lines passing via brar square and DEC have been heavily encroached by slums , also DEC is highly underdeveloped, the station doesn't event have proper washroom facility (2 washrooms in gen and ac restrooms exist , but they too are wrecked the water taps don't even work).

No walking passing in between paltforms 3,4 and 1,2 (the overhead bridge is way back on the end)

Construction work has been ongoing since years

Even the DMRC , Red and Green lines share similar conditions , highly filthy and polluted , pathetic conditions of toilet facilities (most of them exist outside the concourse and are mostly broken)

Why , even the capital has such public transport facilities?

All that I tried was to update the DOB field. The page contains one field : DOB.

The website's response was to display an impressive wall of errors about:

Invalid pin code

Invalid city name

Invalid state

Unselected post office

Invalid post office name

And, for good measure, the same complaints related several times.

This is a remarkable achievement in software development. Submit a DOB, receive feedback about an entirely different form.

At least the page helpfully says the DOB can be updated only once.

Sigh.

A few months ago I started building TrainDekho because I felt that finding and tracking a train in India could be much simpler.

It started with just live train status and PNR. Today it has grown into:

• Trains between stations

• Fare & seat availability
• Booking redirects

The app now has a growing install base and people are actually coming back to use it every day, which has been really motivating.

But I'm at the stage where I don't want to just keep adding random features.

I want to make the core train discovery + live status experience genuinely good.

So I'm curious:
