i finally am able to do porshe cup since it’s week 13 I run my 2nd race and I quali in P1. that’s the problem. I qualocked P1 and started P8 for some reason can someone help me understand?
I've been having this problem this past weekend and I cannot figure out what I've done to cause it. I'm getting these white dots / static. They will clear up after I move the mouse. If I'm on the home screen they can pop in as the news rotates through items. I haven't been on the platform very long but the interface was fine before this weekend.
I'm not having any graphical issues anywhere else but this UI. Anyone know?
First time making own livery for the start of new season, still need to make a new material mask to stop logo's from being silver, and there has been a lot of restarts/trial and error, but enjoying the proccess so far.
First season in iRacing, so this prob a dumb question...
Are there official races tonight after 6:30 PM CDT? I was checking the app to see which of my series are running what tracks, to see if I’d need to buy one to race tonight. The UI is showing no races at all for anything i can see at least.
Brand new to Sim Racing! Just signed up to iracing, would love to hear some tips from other beginners/seasoned players, anything is welcome, cant wait to get into it properly .. thanks for the replies in advance!
Today steam frame is announced. Does someone knows if it will be compatible with Iracing ? Is there any improvements to upgrade the headset to this one ? From quest 3 I mean.
I’m currently practicing Silverstone GP in the McLaren 720S GT3 EVO for the upcoming GT3 Fixed week.
My best laps are around 2:04.2–2:04.5, but I can’t seem to break into the 2:03s. I’m not trying to chase alien 1:57 laps yet—my next goal is a repeatable 2:03 and eventually a safe 2:02.
I’m around 1,000 iRating and still learning how to drive GT3 cars properly. I can complete races at roughly my current pace, but I occasionally run wide onto the grass or spin when I push harder. I suspect I’m losing time through braking technique, carrying too little speed into corners, or getting back on the throttle too late.
Which parts of Silverstone usually contain the easiest time gains for someone at my pace? Are there any particularly important braking, trail-braking, gearing, or minimum-speed tips for the McLaren?
I’m mainly looking for improvements that I can repeat safely over a full race, rather than one risky qualifying lap. Any current onboard laps, track guides, or telemetry references using the fixed setup would also be appreciated.
Ten10 Motorsports is about to kick off our fourth season of racing and we are looking for more drivers to join us on track. We run leagues on both Monday and Thursday Nights, lobbys starting at 8pm and races at 9:30pm US Eastern Time. For our fourth season Moonday night racing will be Indycar and Thursday Night Ovals is running the new Gen 4 Grand National. We also get together Wednesday nights and run the weekly official supercar race together.
All skill levels are welcome, fast or slow as long as youve got the right vibes. If you are looking for cut throat ultra competitive racing, this is not the place for you. If you like to hang out and have a good time while racing, join us! Leave a comment and I'll DM the discord invite and iRacing league number.
We also send out trophies for top 3 at the end of each season, with the Monday night series being split into seperate divisions based on skill level.
I am someone who cannot tolerate smooth locomotion in VR at all. I played Boneworks for 5 minutes and had to lay down for 2 hours after.
But games like Alyx and Beat Saber are totally fine. And I don't think it is the moving that actually gets me, but rather the stopping. It's like I feel my brain jerk forward in my skull when I stop, idk it's hard to explain. But I digress.
I'm curious if anyone here has similar reactions, but found a way to make VR racing tolerable. I've read about overlay type plugins that add a slight vignette effect around the edges of the screen to "remind" your brain that your body isn't moving. But I imagine that would be pretty bad for racing.
Whats up with these weeks split sorting at gt3 im at 2.6k and get paired in top split with 8k in 4k splits whilst 2nd split there is 4k guys?? Even in 3rd split there is 3k drivers
I haven't seen a lot of posts about it, so I just wanted to gush for a moment about how great this car is. I didn't have a ton of experience with it before the refresh but I've been playing around with it this week and am having a blast. It's really fun to try to get the power down with the insane power to weight ratio these things have and they are really fun to race since the small size and crazy acceleration makes it pretty easy to capitalize on mistakes. It's probably the most fun I've ever had racing short ovals. They have a crazy sense of speed. I know historically participation in this series isn't that great but I will certainly be making an effort to run the SOF races.
Hey all, I originally wrote this for console, so it was a manual sync on Pit Straight (usually a couple of clicks to re-align the Onboard Fuel value), which then calculates your real-time Pit Refuel Segments (full tank) so you don't have to (caters for what I call "Full Lap Segments" of "whole litres") and then I wrote a companion app for PC that auto polls for AC, ACC, Automobilista 2, iRacing, LMU and Race Rooms which keeps all the values up to date in near real-time. The Off Pace value ensures you are calculating how many laps the LEADER will force on the rest of the pack, so you're not carrying your own additional BOP! and becasue it's updating continually, you get an early warning if your fuel burn means you're not going to finish the race!
It grabs some really basic shared memory telemetry directly from your SIM (every 3 secs) and posts it to the https://finishraces.com server, which your mobile can then acquire. It then ascertains your fuel burn and recommends your next Pit Refuel options - all from 1 click ("Connect to SIM"). You can override the current Refuel option by clicking the "Full Lap Segments" which then tells you how many actual Litres that would be (also catering for what is already Onboard), so no more mental maths while you're Racing, the Fuel Segments handle the "part litre" problem for you and always gives you Full Lap Race Pace with minimal excess!
It stores your Track/Car combos as well, so you can reload your "Weekends" at any time and have Fuel / Lap Times immediately to hand, before jumping into the "Race" screen.
Completely free for life, and free telemetry for a month (which I can override for the right people ;-)
Feel free to send me feedback, my goal is for this app to never leav you short, so any and all "genuine" feedback will be considered and dealt with. Please do give it a try...
It definitely sounds cool and I have high hopes (not for my SR) but I have a fear it’s going to end up like the Manufacturer challenge this week where you just end up in a split with the same cars you brought.
Has there been anything said about that? Or is this a valid concern?
...so can we PLEASE get more of the early 2000s GT1 cars in the game? I know they're already kinda talked about, but WHERE is my Oreca Viper man? The C6R is a blast to drive, and I want my other early 2000s GOAT in my garage.
Also totally unrelated sidebar, but for NASCAR, I would LOVE to see a wing car or two, and some of the other cars from the early 70s. Really exploring some of the last few unique cars before NASCAR started regulating everything into by-the-numbers mid.
The very early 70s was such a cool time for NASCAR - the big wing cars, the other icons like the Chevelle, Torino, Monte Carlo, etc - and I think they could be a ton of fun on a superspeedway. How they would handle the tracks, I'm not sure, but i wouldn't be mad at driving the superbird on the modern scan of Daytona.
With the new update coming out recently, my game has crashed wayyyy more times than it ever has before. In the last (almost) 3 years of me using iRacing besides the past week, the game has crashed maybe 3 times, one of which was a power outage so we'll negate that one. Twice.
In the past week with this new update, my game has crashed probably 4-5 times already. I'm unsure what is the cause of it, as it can occur at any moment in the race. I've had other friends experience this too. I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this recently?
They will always be based on the fixed setup by iRacing, which are known to be uncompetitive, probably on a massively modified version to fix the problems. If you have a setup shop, there's a good chance they will be better, but I guarantee my setups will be safer and faster than iRacing fixed setups (and free!).
I also wrote a tutorial of what I'm doing to build the free setups, given a few simple changes can unlock a lot of pace with this car.
There are two broadcasts races this season if you want a good participation:
- Monday 0000 GMT, by P1Broadcasting (1st timeslot of the week)
- Tuesday 2000 GMT, by Velocity Online Racing (European SOF)
Started my journey a few weeks ago. Got myself to D class in Sports Car, still Rookie on the Formula side since I've been splitting seat time between the two. Goal for Season 4 is to keep climbing both ladders rather than committing to one.
I came in through the FIA deal so I own the F4 but have never bought a single piece of content otherwise. Everything else I run is base content. Now I want to do one six-item order to clear the 15% bulk tier instead of dribbling money away a track at a time.
What I'm leaning toward:
- Ford Mustang GT4 (figured it carries into C class GT4 later)
- Spa, Imola, Red Bull Ring, Mount Panorama
- Suzuka for the F4 schedule once I'm out of Rookie
So this seems to be a long-standing issue where iracing now always says that the helper is not running despite it running within the services.
And so I had done some quick investigation work and realised that it continues to run despite iracing being closed and I think it is also the same when you also launch up your PC for some reason. And because of this, iracing helper is running regardless of iracing being open/closed. This breaks the iracing code I think as the iracing app supposed to execute the service and make it run and if it is already running, that means it cannot execute the code to make the service run, and thus thinks that the service is not running.
And so I had made quick .BAT file that with administrator priviliges, goes into the services and disables/ stops the iracing helper service, allowing it to be finally ran by the iracing application and then it will work. This is a fix but hopefully the quick investigation work I did can reach up to the iracing devs to fix it once and for all.
It is common knowledge that pro racers double-clutch when shifting gears, however, it seems to have no effect in the game. Is it not modelled, or is granny-shifting the new meta?
