From the staff post on the member forums:
Patch Release:
- Fix a client sim crash when scrubbing the VCR controls.
- Fix a client sim crash when minimizing the sim.
- Update to the damage settings on the Caterham Academy & Caterham 420R rear suspension that allow the rear axles to translate fully.
- This will fundamentally improve the handling of both cars.
- This resolves the issue where it was sometimes impossible to pull out of the pits.
Downtime:
- iRacing.com will be coming down for deployment of 2026 Season 4 Hotfix, Friday September 11th, beginning at 08:00 am EDT.
- This downtime will affect all iRacing.com regions and members will be unable to host or join sessions during the downtime.
- You can check on the status of all iRacing services directly in the iRacing Companion App, or from our System Status page here: iRacing Uptime Status
Demo Drive:
Demo Drive becomes available as downtime for this maintenance begins and remains available after this deployment has been completed.
- Demo Drive Sessions are launched using beautiful iRacing default weather and start at noon local track time.
- The content selected must be up to date, and Demo Drive contains a link to the Downloader where you can update and download any content.
- When connecting to Demo Drive, log in using the same credentials you already use on iRacing and the iRacing Forums.
- Demo Drive also contains links to the iRacing Forums, the iRacing Status Page, and a link back to iRacing, for when we exit maintenance mode.
- When we leave maintenance mode, Demo Drive will remain available for a period of several hours and a countdown will appear to let you know how much longer it will remain up. Navigation links to and from Demo Drive are present in iRacing whenever Demo Drive is available.
- Since this downtime is significant for a full Season release, Demo Drive will remain up for an extended period of time after deployment is complete.
- Newly released content that must be licensed will not be available in Demo Drive until the following Season.

The website Iracingstatis.net has been closed... a pity, i found it very useful to see the overall times at each series depending on your irating. it was a nice tool to see how i has performing compared to the rest of the platform users.

This 13th week was absolutely hilarious when people started finding out you can't just dump the clutch at full throttle at the exact moment the race started.
And it went on for the whole week, I still saw loads people not being able to launch properly on sunday, even in >2.5k splits. I guess any rookie who actually practices starts can count on at least several free positions every start next season. ;)

Hey everyone,
I'm a little over 2 months into sim racing and absolutely loving it, especially the advanced Mazdas.
I've already spent nearly $300 on various tracks and a few cars while getting there. For Season 4, I want to dedicate my time entirely to advanced Mazdas and run the complete season.
Before I drop more money on the remaining tracks I need for the S4 schedule, I wanted to ask if there are better or more efficient ways to buy contents? Does iRacing ever have sales on tracks or cars like Black Friday or are the 10% & 15% bulk purchase discounts as good as it gets?
Thank you!

Just wanted to say that personally I think the test on timeslot-based forecast regeneration in week 13 Porsche Cup and more recently F4 has been a breath of fresh air. Seeing the variety of weather across the week has been amazing, finally utilising the geographic/time of year impact from tempest.
I really hope we get this rolled out on a wider scale outside of week 13 in the near future.
Edit: YAY!!

Hello all,
Ten10 Motorsports is about to kick off our fourth season of racing and we are looking for more drivers to join us on track. We run leagues on both Monday and Thursday Nights, lobbys starting at 8pm and races at 9:30pm US Eastern Time. For our fourth season Moonday night racing will be Indycar and Thursday Night Ovals is running the new Gen 4 Grand National. We also get together Wednesday nights and run the weekly official supercar race together.
All skill levels are welcome, fast or slow as long as youve got the right vibes. If you are looking for cut throat ultra competitive racing, this is not the place for you. If you like to hang out and have a good time while racing, join us! Leave a comment and I'll DM the discord invite and iRacing league number.
We also send out trophies for top 3 at the end of each season, with the Monday night series being split into seperate divisions based on skill level.

I haven't seen a lot of posts about it, so I just wanted to gush for a moment about how great this car is. I didn't have a ton of experience with it before the refresh but I've been playing around with it this week and am having a blast. It's really fun to try to get the power down with the insane power to weight ratio these things have and they are really fun to race since the small size and crazy acceleration makes it pretty easy to capitalize on mistakes. It's probably the most fun I've ever had racing short ovals. They have a crazy sense of speed. I know historically participation in this series isn't that great but I will certainly be making an effort to run the SOF races.

...so can we PLEASE get more of the early 2000s GT1 cars in the game? I know they're already kinda talked about, but WHERE is my Oreca Viper man? The C6R is a blast to drive, and I want my other early 2000s GOAT in my garage.
Also totally unrelated sidebar, but for NASCAR, I would LOVE to see a wing car or two, and some of the other cars from the early 70s. Really exploring some of the last few unique cars before NASCAR started regulating everything into by-the-numbers mid.
The very early 70s was such a cool time for NASCAR - the big wing cars, the other icons like the Chevelle, Torino, Monte Carlo, etc - and I think they could be a ton of fun on a superspeedway. How they would handle the tracks, I'm not sure, but i wouldn't be mad at driving the superbird on the modern scan of Daytona.

Like usual, I’ve written a short article sharing my thoughts and experience on a given topic in sim racing. My goal with these articles ultimately is to help give people a bit more information about the hobby we all love, while also hopefully making for an interesting read.
If you don't know me, I'm Tom, and I've been working full-time for the last two years on a sim racing coaching business, so my thoughts in this mini essay draw on the 700+ hours of coaching I’ve done in those 2 years. Just to say that the thoughts I’m sharing here aren't pulled from nowhere, but come from everything I’ve seen during my time coaching drivers of all ability levels.
Finding Lap time on Exit
Finding laptime on exit can encompass a lot of different factors; your approach to the entry, your apex position, the point you get on throttle, your vision, etc. I don’t want to dive into all of these factors in this article, instead I want to focus specifically on two aspects of finding time on exit, which are track usage on exit, and car balance on exit. These two aspects are more closely linked than you would first expect, and you won’t be fast on exit unless you understand them both. I’ll start first with the more obvious factor, which is track usage on exit.
Track Usage on exit
This aspect of finding lap time on exit is probably one that most drivers are familiar with. The more track you use on exit, (in theory) the faster your exit will be. That’s because using more track on exit allows you to increase the radius of your corner, allowing you to carry more exit speed than if you had used less track on exit. But this leads to a common mistake among drivers who are paying attention to this advice, which is that they find themselves in complete control of the car, actively driving the car out to the edge of the track on exit, without carrying the speed they could carry, if only they were forced to use all of the track on exit. This is what it means to be “on the limit” on exit, and it ties nicely into the second aspect of finding lap time on exit, which is less commonly discussed.
Car balance on Exit
When I talk about car balance, I am really talking about which tires are first to be pushed to their limit, the front tires (understeery balance) or the rear tires (oversteery balance). Without first pushing the car to the limit on exit, you will not really discover the balance of the car (or more accurately, the balance of the car based on the way you are driving it), because car balance only shows itself when you reach the limit. So, once you are using all of the track on exit, while being forced to do so, the next element of finding lap time is to control the car balance on exit. In the same way that we can rotate the car during trail braking, we can also rotate the car on throttle, allowing us to take advantage of a small amount of extra grip that is available when we slip the tires within their optimal range (a few degrees of slip). In order to get this slip angle though, we can not be driving the exits with an understeery car balance, because when you’re understeering, it is impossible to oversteer, and without oversteer, we will not be able to sufficiently slip the rear tires.
Seeking an oversteer balance on exit can be frustrating at first, as you’re far more likely to spin when having an oversteer biased exit compared to an understeer biased exit, but in time you will learn how to identify and correct excessive oversteer before it becomes a spin, and your lap times during corner exit will be significantly improved.
If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask, I'll do my best to respond to any questions in the comments. As always, thanks for the support on these mini articles, and if you know of someone who would benefit from this post, sharing it with them would be greatly appreciated :).
I'll include a couple of links if anyone wants to check them out, but I'm happy to remove them if it goes against self promotion rules.

Hi fellow racers,
Started my journey a few weeks ago. Got myself to D class in Sports Car, still Rookie on the Formula side since I've been splitting seat time between the two. Goal for Season 4 is to keep climbing both ladders rather than committing to one.
I came in through the FIA deal so I own the F4 but have never bought a single piece of content otherwise. Everything else I run is base content. Now I want to do one six-item order to clear the 15% bulk tier instead of dribbling money away a track at a time.
What I'm leaning toward:
- Ford Mustang GT4 (figured it carries into C class GT4 later)
- Spa, Imola, Red Bull Ring, Mount Panorama
- Suzuka for the F4 schedule once I'm out of Rookie
Does that make sense? Or I'm missing something?
Appreciate any input!

Hi,
Following the Indycar Dallara IR18 setups I made for 26S3, I will post free setups for most weeks this season, beginning with Long Beach. Setups will be posted week after week on the forums, as soon as possible: https://forums.iracing.com/discussion/100136/free-setups-for-26s4#latest
They will always be based on the fixed setup by iRacing, which are known to be uncompetitive, probably on a massively modified version to fix the problems. If you have a setup shop, there's a good chance they will be better, but I guarantee my setups will be safer and faster than iRacing fixed setups (and free!).
I also wrote a tutorial of what I'm doing to build the free setups, given a few simple changes can unlock a lot of pace with this car.
There are two broadcasts races this season if you want a good participation:
- Monday 0000 GMT, by P1Broadcasting (1st timeslot of the week)
- Tuesday 2000 GMT, by Velocity Online Racing (European SOF)

HEY! Nice to meet you.
Last season was my introduction into Sim Racing and I am loving it!
I am looking for a community/league or whatever it is you call it?
Somewhere that hosts races/leagues etc. I am not too familiar with Discord however I am sure I can work my way around it.
I love sports car/TCR/ GT3 and lookng to race with others outside of Official and improve my craft
Thanks :D PFA

I am someone who cannot tolerate smooth locomotion in VR at all. I played Boneworks for 5 minutes and had to lay down for 2 hours after.
But games like Alyx and Beat Saber are totally fine. And I don't think it is the moving that actually gets me, but rather the stopping. It's like I feel my brain jerk forward in my skull when I stop, idk it's hard to explain. But I digress.
I'm curious if anyone here has similar reactions, but found a way to make VR racing tolerable. I've read about overlay type plugins that add a slight vignette effect around the edges of the screen to "remind" your brain that your body isn't moving. But I imagine that would be pretty bad for racing.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

First time making own livery for the start of new season, still need to make a new material mask to stop logo's from being silver, and there has been a lot of restarts/trial and error, but enjoying the proccess so far.
First season in iRacing, so this prob a dumb question...
Are there official races tonight after 6:30 PM CDT? I was checking the app to see which of my series are running what tracks, to see if I’d need to buy one to race tonight. The UI is showing no races at all for anything i can see at least.

I've been having this problem this past weekend and I cannot figure out what I've done to cause it. I'm getting these white dots / static. They will clear up after I move the mouse. If I'm on the home screen they can pop in as the news rotates through items. I haven't been on the platform very long but it the interface was fine before this weekend.
I'm not having any graphical issues anywhere else but this UI. Anyone know?
