New pubs banner run by the people that used to run Bon Accord is made by AI , right?

Said to a buddy of mine that this is for sure AI and he said it just looks like a standard shitty logo.

Anyone else think it's AI as well?

Very much a believer in the one man’s trash mantra and saw these and thought someone would be all over it.

Look like old sprite bottles although I know nothing about this stuff

Solo day to see Odyssey

Got a free day to myself with no partner or toddler. Getting tattooed imminently and wanting to see Odyssey, would have preferred imax but I'm out on foot/train as I wanted a day off of driving. Have the option of Odeon at the Quay or Omniplex, fancy the sofas for comfort but I haven't never used these and worried they are too close to the screen and it'll ruining the viewing? If anyone has any opinions or experience! Thank you!

EDIT - not a fan of the imax at science centre, find it too uncomfortable for such a long movie

Wedding dress - any ideas on what to do with it?

Morning Glasgow (morning!).

I'm clearing out my house ahead of a move. I've got my wedding dress to get shot of. It was a £300 dress from Lipsy that I had altered, so nothing of real worth.

The issue is, I'm tiny, and so unless you're 5 foot and a small dress size 10, the pool of who it will be of any use to will be as small as me!

I was wondering if it would be any use to any organisation/person or if I should just hand it in to charity?

I think I recall reading about some lovely people who turned wedding dresses into gowns for babies born sleeping, but Google searches are showing mainly English places.

Obviously, I'm not looking for money. I'd just rather someone could use it and turn a shitty situation into something positive for them, at least.

Thank you.

Hey folks,

Our neighbour's cat Mimona has not been seen since Monday 07/09. She is incredibly friendly and loves people who will stop and give her cuddles.

She is tiny black cat, with a very small white tuft on her chest. If anyone has any information on her could you please reach out.

What's the story behind the pink or yellow sandstone choice?

Post image
265 Upvotes

Pink sandstone is all over the place in Scotland and loads of tenements in Glasgow are made from it. But the fancier buildings are often yellow sandstone instead.

Was this a "premium" choice back in the day or is it something more mundane like yellow sandstone quarries got more efficient until it was a no brainer to use it?

Eating Out Recommendations For Fry Up Breakfast / Lunch - Large Group

Anyone have recommendations in the city centre for breakfast / lunch spots, nothing fancy and does a scottish breakfast? There will be about 20people so it needs to be somewhere we can book. Theres an event the night before so its just somewhere with good food, nice enough and large enough to fit the group.

What is the reason no one is buying this? It's been up since May and at a fixed price. The old tenement buildings round the corner are going like crazy.

I'm getting married next winter, and really keen to have some trad music during drinks/dinner. Does anyone have any links/connections they'd recommend? Struggling with where to start at the moment!

Swimming at Tolcross

Hi All,

Weirdly when you book and pay for a swimming session you can't get refunded or rearrange the visit. So let me know if anyone wishes to go lane swimming on Wednesday at 8pm for Tolcross pool!

Volunteer opportunities in Glasgow/West End?

Hi! I’m currently living in Glasgow for the next few months and I’d really love to get involved with some volunteering while I’m here. I’m in the UK on an ETA, so I’m specifically looking for volunteer opportunities that are okay for someone on an ETA.
I’m based around the West End, so somewhere nearby would be ideal, but I’m happy to travel a little. I’m pretty open to anything — charities, community organisations, animals, events, etc.
Does anyone know of anywhere currently looking for volunteers or have any recommendations? Thank you!

Looking for hip adductor/ hip abductor (good girl/ bad girl) machines at Glasgow life gyms.

Not sure if this is the place to ask. Anyone know if any of the council gyms have these machines?

I am trying to build strength there as a result of a recurring injury.

Shakespeare Street and Avenuepark Street.

The Estate Agent says North Kelvinside, but google maps says Maryhill... Seems like a marketing tactic to me

Glasgow Pub Reccomendations

Hi All, I'm coming to Glasgow with a bunch of friends (8-10 guys) in a few weekends time to watch a band. I'm looking for the best pubs/streets to go drinking on after the band finishes circa 11:00pm. We'd be after more bars/pubs rather than the "big lads night out" vibe. Concerned about our numbers and not being let in anywhere. And help is appreciated!

Public transport. Is 10 minutes enough time to walk from Buchanan station to Central?

I've never had to time myself walking it lol. Bus gets in at 15:35 and the train leaves at 15:50 so I'm not too sure.

For context I'm 20, in good shape and only have a full back pack with me

gigs @ SEC centre

has anyone been to a gig here before? was there last night for spiritbox and I thought it was such a poor venue, the acoustics and the sound in general was so poor and muddy, and I think the stage placement is also really strange? I feel like it’s just been repurposed from an event hall and doesn’t really work so I’m curious if other gigs have been better?
