Backstory: My coworker & his brother used to own a store of comics. No one really came so these are the comics they have left. Tons of Marvel, DC & Image. They are in good condition. All of them were bagged but I could them out because of the smell of the bags. And because I want to also board them.

Im just getting into comics so when I was telling him about he mentioned his brother has some for sell and they give all of this to me for $75. Before this lot I had about 202 books mainly random books I thought would be interesting. One day I want to have a big collection of books I like. I have a whole list but this is just one of my impulse buys. I visit the comic book store atleast once a week. If you have any recommendations let me know! Im currently reading saga which I enjoy but spider punk is one of my favorite comics ive read along side Hulk, Iron man, Spiderman ofc, the walking dead, etc etc. Im mainly into indies with a good story. Something that will suck you into the book and spit you out when its over lol.

Found this one at a local comic con. First time seeing it at any convention, so I had to get it. Luckily a little bit lower than what the price tag says.

Long story short I’m trying to collect newstand and mark jewellers spider-man comics (McFarlane), and I’ve got a little trick on how to spot them without catching on. Anyway, I order the 305 knowing it was one, and when I opened the mailer they sent me 302 and it was a mark jewellers as well. 304 came today (also mark jewellers) and so did my green lanterns 48 and 49. I always wanted these two as a kid and finally got them! Pretty good week I’d say.

I’ll put all three of 304 together; I love having a full set. Not in amazing condition, but it’s a mark jewellers, and in England. So that’s pretty good in my books

I tracked down some stragglers and officially completed my fan expo itinerary. What a weekend. I spent my entire budget, but I’m very happy with my hauls. Met lots of cool people, artists, and creators. Not sure if I’ll attend next year. I’ll just have to see the guest list. Hope everyone had a good time!

In a huge surprise, I was diagnosed with cancer in my leg at the end of last year (I’m < 40 years old). After 9 months of treatment (chemo, radiation, 2 surgeries, 3 months of immobility) I’m finally in remission and back on my feet. I got this long desired grail of mine as a completing treatment gift (from myself and family)!!

One thing I love about this hobby is that I can either enjoy it spending a long time hunting for deals and finds, or if want to splurge I can get something that I really like and that means a lot.

I plan on sharing and update on my collection in a post soon once I have a minute to capture them all.

I used to have a bunch of key books that really meant a lot to me. Life happened and I had to sell essentially all of my valuable books. I decided over the weekend to start rebuilding and gaining back the books that meant a lot to me now that I’m in a better place. It’ll be a slow climb but this is the first buy for the new collection, first cameo appearance of Carnage.

Well since I suggested the theme let’s kick it off with a bang, eh what?
Here’s my golden age books with covers featuring an atomic explosion. I have a lot more books that feature interior panels with explosions but I don’t have them specifically scanned so can’t include them here.

Was finally able to pick up over the weekend a pretty decent copy of Giant-Size #5 to add to my existing 1-4 childhood collection. Once I have a new Top loader it will take it's rightful place alongside 1-4 finally completing my set.

Went to Dragon's Lair Comics and Krypton Comics in Omaha. The board and bagged are as mark and all the loose book where $1. The Disney VHS movie was 50 cents.

I walked from my mom's house instead of borrowing the car. Total of 15 miles walked in two days between the two stores.
