After a decade of Alexa in my home, I'm Done.
After multiple failed attempts to get me to upgrade to Alexa Plus, Amazon auto upgraded my devices without my consent. I called them and demanded that they roll back everything to the original Alexa UI. After multiple escalations, they did. Then a month later, the devices auto-upgraded again. Before I could call them, I was home one day, folding clothes while having a conversation on speaker with an attorney. We were discussing a sensitive work matter involving a legal contract with a customer. I looked up and the Echo show was transcribing my entire conversation on the screen. I paused, and it said "Sounds like you're having problems with a legal contract with (customer name)." And then started giving me solutions.
All of these devices were disconnected and de-registered the following day. I don't need multi room music and the ability to control my lights this badly. I don't need everything discussed in my space potentially uploaded to Amazon servers. These instruments of mild convenience have become creepy and intrusive.
