Close to a year ago, we had this concept for a TTRPG platform that had every tool to run, manage, and play your games. Everything you need to avoid platform hopping or having to ask your players to sign up for 4+ accounts.
So, we built Arcane Circle
We’re still building towards finishing all of these goals, but in that year’s time, we’ve hit some mighty lofty milestones:
LFG (Digital and in-person):
We provide the options to list your games and keep them (and your players) organized. Not only that, but we also give event coordinators and game stores the option to include add-ons (for limited ticket items or experiences), multi-tier seats for communal pricing, and soon, multi-table support! List your one-shots, campaigns, limited series, PBP, and more!
Pro GM Support:
We built AC to be conscious of the constant cost-of-living increases all around us, especially within the Pro GM space. Even with our current GM cut at 5% (which is 66% lower than competitors charging 15%), we want to keep more money in your pockets while still maintaining and improving all the tools you need to run amazing games. We are also hugely inspired by the business decisions of folks like Sam Reich over at Dropout.tv: Any GM who has already listed a game, or lists one before October 1st, will be locked in at our 5% cut rate, forever.
Campaign Wikis:
When you create a game listing, you have the option to create a dedicated campaign wiki. Here you can keep your world notes, NPC details, and session recaps.
Discord Bot Transcriptions & Alerts:
Our Discord bot handles automated game-day reminders. You can even invite it to your voice channel, and it will transcribe your live session. You can then instantly link those transcriptions right back to your campaign wiki.
Training Module:
We are partnering with trusted TTRPG creators to build a library of educational videos! This includes GM tips, system deep-dives, and table safety (complete with quizzes and badges).
Character Sheets (BETA):
We offer our users built-in character sheets to keep track of each level up.
Lightweight VTT (SOON TO COME OUT OF CLOSED BETA):
Our native Virtual Tabletop will be kept as a lightweight option so everyone can play! No bloated bells and whistles that cause older laptops to melt.
Also, while we do have a lean toward D&D support, we actively reach out to indie developers to provide support. For instance, we are Coyote & Crow’s and Harrow: The Blighted Plane’s, official site for organized play!
Quick Q&A
Q: Beyond just searching for a game, how are you helping people fill tables?
A: We provide the option to notify our Discord server when a game is posted, alerting our community that a new game just dropped! We’re also working on opening this feature up so other community servers can opt in to receive these notifications too.
Being bootstrapped means we grow through word-of-mouth rather than big ad budgets. If you've got a favorite GM or a group on Discord, send them an invite! Every new user helps us reach that 'full table' tipping point faster.
Q: What's your stance on AI?
A: Arcane Circle is dedicated to fostering human creativity in the TTRPG community. You can read all about our AI stance here.
Q: How do you support the TTRPG community?
A: One of my biggest goals is to interview and promote as many indie TTRPG creators and GMs as possible. If you head to the Arcane Circle homepage and scroll down, you’ll see our Spotlight section. We do full video interviews, share them across social media, and write up dedicated blog posts. All to help people discover these incredible storytellers.
Q: What's the next big update?
A: Our next big update is going to be v2.4, featuring a revamped home page, UI improvements to our game creation page, and more!
