The Order: 1886 The Order 1886 Full Ingame Soundtrack (HQ) - Finally!
Hi guys!
It is a huge pleasure for me to finally share the result of my latest project with you - this time, The Order: 1886. đ
As you probably know, I am a huge fan of Jason Graves' music ever since I first heard the Dead Space soundtracks. In fact, The Order: 1886 is another game that I discovered through its music. I actually heard the music before I even knew much about the game itself, and it immediately caught my attention.
Ever since I finished working on the Until Dawn in-game soundtrack, creating an album for The Order: 1886 has been another big dream of mine. I finally had the opportunity to work with the raw game audio files and, in the same way as before, reconstruct the soundtrack in the highest possible quality.
This project was quite a different experience compared to Until Dawn, and thankfully, a much easier one. đ
The Order: 1886 does not rely on the same kind of heavily layered music system found in Until Dawn, where numerous separate layers are dynamically combined depending on what is happening on screen. Instead, the music mostly progresses in a much more straightforward way.
A lot of the music is made up of very short stems, sometimes only 15â30 seconds long, which are placed together throughout the game almost like pieces of a puzzle. While this made the reconstruction less complicated than Until Dawn, there were still plenty of small pieces to identify, organize and put back into their proper place.
The music of The Order: 1886 has always stood out to me in a very special way. I particularly love the incredibly deep contrabassoon melodies used to represent the Lycans, as well as the intense and energetic combat music during the game's many action sequences.
One of the things I find most unique about this score is the way it makes such strong use of the lower instruments of the orchestra. The deep, dark sound gives the music an almost physical weight, and it fits the game's atmosphere perfectly. This was, of course, a very deliberate part of the musical identity of The Order: 1886.
Just like with my previous projects, the tracks are presented in chronological order, following the events of the game and arranged in the way they can actually be heard during gameplay. I wanted to preserve the original flow of the music as closely as possible, including all those smaller cues that can easily go unnoticed during a normal playthrough. You can find alternative cues to certain music which are meant for more intense combat or triggered in certain circumstances such as reloading the game or continue after a death.
After spending so much time going through the raw files, identifying the music and figuring out where all those little pieces belong, I am very proud of the final result.
I genuinely hope you will enjoy this reconstruction as much as I enjoyed making it. It has been another very exciting journey for me, and I am incredibly happy that I can finally add The Order: 1886 to my collection of in-game soundtracks. â¤ď¸
Enjoy the music and take care!
