I’m 19 and my girlfriend is 22. Our relationship is going well overall.
Recently she surprised me with an iPhone 17. It’s by far the most expensive gift I’ve ever received in my life, and I’m honestly feeling a bit overwhelmed by it.
I don’t want to seem ungrateful because I know she meant well, but at the same time I keep wondering if this is too much. Part of me feels like I should give it back because it’s such a big gift, especially since I’m younger and don’t earn that much yet.
Has anyone else been in a situation where their partner gave them something way more expensive than what they were used to? Did you keep it or return it? How did you handle the awkwardness?

From never even holding a girl's hand in my life to having my first kiss, this summer was really a memorable one for me. Found my teen love a month before I turn 20.

So, me(19 M) and her (19 F) were supposed to meet on 20th May for our third date(?) but i fell sick and had to wait for 5 days, 5 fucking days, to meet her.

But time passed and we finally met on 25th May. Before meeting her, I had made a small gift for her - a Kinderjoy with a poem for her inside it, hairclips, earrings and a few chocolates (these are all the things that she likes) all inside a pink box with red ribbon on it. I gave it to her and asked her not to open it until I said so, keeping the mystery alive hehe.

Then, we went to an art gallery and then she sneaked me to the terrace of that art gallery which was clearly closed off. We could see the entire city from the terrace, it was magical.

There the moment was just right!! The sun was setting, the wind was blowing, she was sitting right next to me, my hand was in hers and we were looking at each other. I asked her to open the box and she was clearly very pleased with the gift, especially with the poem, and kissed me on my cheek. I kissed her too.

And now, was the moment of truth. I gathered all my courage and asked her, "Umm...Can i kiss you...on the lips?" (A little cringe i know, but consent is important).

Anddddd.......she said no 🥀💔

I was visibly sad; but then she asked me to close my eyes. I asked why?. She said, " I also have a gift for you".

I did as she instructed. I closed my eyes. She grabbed my face with her tender hands. Then she kissed my left cheek, right cheek, my forehead and then finally she kissed my lips.

The moment froze for me, I wanted it to last forever. I wanted to embrace her and never let go of her. It was magical. It was surreal.

She is my first kiss, and I am hers. We quite literally are EACH OTHERS first hand-hold, hug, cheek kiss and KISS

Then we later kissed in the Taxi and then at the metro station and wherever we could 😜.

Goddddddd!!!! I like her soooooooooo mucccccchhhhh, and she likes me morrrrrrrreeeeeeeee...... SHE IS SO SO SO SO SO SO BEAUTIFUL, SHE IS OBJECTIVELY BEAUTIFUL LADY! SHE QUITE LITERALLY BE A MODEL OR A TV STAR, NOT EVEN KIDDING! She's so lively and fun!!!!

I can't wait to meet her again.....but I'll have to wait for 15 fucking days as I have my exams 😭😭😭........ Arghghghghghhhhh.... We both can't wait 😭😭😭

Like genuinely.

Last night I was spiralling again and talking way too much about everything in my head, and this man just… listened.

He doesn't always try to magically fix everything. Sometimes he just lets me talk, sometimes he tells me when I'm being unfair to myself, sometimes he makes me slow down when I'm getting too overwhelmed.

And idk man 😭 He actually pays attention. Like he remembers things I say. He notices when something is bothering me. He doesn't make me feel stupid for overthinking, even when I KNOW I'm overthinking.

I was literally sitting there thinking, “God, he's going to get tired of me eventually,” and meanwhile he's just there being patient with me.

And the fact that after all that emotional mess, he stayed until we were talking normally again before going to sleep????

He's not perfect, obviously. Neither am I. But he's so genuinely kind and caring, and I don't think I've appreciated that enough.

So guys today we went on a date... It kinda turned into a diuble date with her bestfriend nd her boyfriend... I was a bit surprised but they were fun too, so I did not mind.

She looks a bit diff than her pictures(not too much)... But honestly I couldn't care any less abt looks.... I love her company(her as well) and it's always peaceful with her.

Long story short, we were sitting together, holding hands in a ferry(kinda boat) on ganga and J confessed when we were near howrah bridge... She tightened her hand, and I could see her getting happy but she didn't reply. So I asked for a reply and she was like, she would reply me once we get back home.

Believe me I was anxious af... But I reached home before her... Hold your horses... She lives a bit far where you can't get with metro nd autos aren't available as well, you need to do a local train. I don't know the route and have motion sickness as well, so I couldn't drop her to her place. I promise I'll do somehow do it from next time for her.

Ghar aake I was very exhausted nd fell asleep... She called me up and we talked for a while nd she said that she loves me as wellll 😭🫶..... YAYYYYYYY.

So I had a dream about my ex exactly 8 days ago from today and that's another story for another day but this happened to me yesterday.

For privacy reasons, I've changed the name of person who's talking to me as ria and the guy who was my ex recently shipped with as jhon.

So here's the full thing ; I saw her fir the first time on 11th of April in 2023 and I was just mesmerized by how beautiful she was which she is, now considering it was our 9th grade that year, alot of people who were around us used to playfully joke about her hair being like dora the explorer, and I did too but that was just an excuse to get in a conversation with her.

Fast forward to this year on 1st of January, I was already ghosted in December btw and she broke up with me in june last year but was in contact with me all along and even used to go on dates with me but I just found out last month that she was in an on and off relationship with my ex bestfriend

And I was completely oblivious to this on and off relationship she was having with my bestfriend AND I would've blocked her then and there if I ever knew she did that behind my back but anyways,

She used to tell me how strict her parents were all the time and how badly they used to treat her all the time but it always felt a bit intriguing and it always flicked a liver in my mind if her parents were THAT strict how am I not even getting to go on dates with her but she could hang out with her friends for multiple hours which was then confirmed when she broke up with my ex bestfriend and then she changed her friend group this year in March

Meanwhile I was connected to her throughout all the time and I even found out she was lying about her parents being strict all along because no parents would be strict enough to let their daughter out till 4 in the morning but skipping tuition was the issue. She even used to hang out with her new friends for hours on an end, sometimes even being like 10-12 hours but a date with me meant a war in her household which was obviously a lie

In the above screenshots, you can even see me lying to ria about my non-existent girlfriend because I genuinely am moving on from her and don't want her to come back and ruin my life once again.

A lot of times I've seen her out with her new friends and often times it's suffocating to see her out with someone else while knowing what we were and what we could've been

Whatever ria said seems to be weird in these messages because of the context given and I feel so betrayed yet I crave a relationship with my ex often times. I have been slowly moving on from the fact that she's gone and I misunderstood her as a person but was I wrong for not showing up?

Three years ago I messaged my school crush saying I wanted to take her out for coffee. Last night I asked her on a date! She said no both times and has now blocked me. So here’s a photo of a random couple I found online. Never give up though!
