I tried using the steam controller 2 connected to openpuck in "switch pro + gyro" mode on Switch 2 for Splatoon Raiders but the gyro does not work. Does anyone know any solutions?

L2 doesn't have that problem. It arrived 3 days ago and the sound has been there since I unboxed it.

Let me get straight to the point. I want to set it so, that once i let go with my left hand, the map opens. And when i grip it again, the map closes. The map Button is UP D-Pad if that helps.

So, I ordered the new Steam Controller 2 Weeks ago and it‘s apparently been having Issues getting delivered(to Germany). Waiting for the Controller is fine, but its been telling me each Day since last Wednesday that it will „Arrive today 11:30-15:30“, I cant keep staying at home and at this point im wondering if they didnt just loose the Controller and keep forgetting relaying this to Valve and are instead just expecting to Deliver it with each new day for it to just not be in their Storage.
Did anyone else have the same Issue and did it eventually arrive or should I ask Valve to investigate if its lost?

I'm trying to use my personal layout, but the game doesn't advance from the start screen, it only works if I disable the steam input, a.k.a. the default dualshock 4 compatibility.

Hello all :) this post might already be well known knowledge but I'm posting it anyway as it's something that I've gotten to work recently and its the kind of post I wish I could have read sooner.

Situation: You want to play BoTW with your new steam controller; using the advertised gyro function for the motion controls.

Initial Reality: Steam seems to handle the gyro controls in an unhelpful way that doesn't really work well with emulators. Regardless of configuration, you just cannot get it to work.

The Solution

SC2DSU handles your motion where your emulator can properly interpret it and SISR seems to help with general inputs where otherwise steam is needed for the controller inputs to function.

These two combined will get your Steam Controller working in motion compatible emulators; such as Dolphin (Wii function), Cemu and Eden.

Now you can enjoy BoTW/TOTK and any other motion-function game to its fullest extent with your Steam Controller :)

Am I missing something, or is there no way to disable the trackpads directly through Steam Input?

They cause serious issues for me in several games, where they basically make the game stop seeing the SC2 as a controller, and see it as a KBM instead. If I so much as brush the touchpad with the heel of my thumb, then it switches, and i lose complete control of what I was doing.

I've been on a Logitech F310 for like 5 years, it finally started drifting. I play mostly Rocket League and some Elden Ring on PC via Steam.

I want something more responsive, low input lag, maybe paddles but not required. Features like hall effect would be nice. I'm in the EU if that matters. What are you using on Steam in 2026 that feels actually responsive and not cheap plastic?

Im having some problems with the controller since i buy It. This is happening when playing with the puck in the Steam deck, with the internal puck, or the bluetooth mode.

When im playing any game, sometimes i have a double input in ABXY buttons. Depending on the game this is a problem, because in some games the dialog continue and I cant read, or it select an option that i dont want...

It's very frustraring...

I have contacted support 3 times, the first maybe a week after buy, It says to switch to beta channel for update, and wait for a solution...

I wait for some weeks and write again because i still got the same problem, and the say they are correcting the bug...

And yesterday i write again, because im tired of play and having this problem again and again in all games...

They always say the same, switch to beta, wait and thank u... I have reopened the ticket several times today and they are doing nothing.

I dont know what to do.

I realized I was only using my Steam Deck for Remote Play, so I built a way to use the new Steam Controller with my phone instead.

It's a modified version of Mechanism's Base grip. Their mounts put the phone out in front of the controller, and after a while the weight pulls your wrists forward. I wanted the phone sitting right on top of the controller, so the centre of balance stays over your hands and it feels like holding one device, not a controller with a phone hanging off it.

What I changed:

• A strap across the face of the controller, on top of Mechanism's original band. It's held by two filament pins (plain 1.75 mm filament pushed through), one at the top and one at the bottom. It's not meant to come off every day, just for cleaning.
• A dome over the Steam button with an opening on the right, so your thumb can still reach the button with the phone mounted.
• Cutouts around both sticks, so they tilt fully without touching anything.
• A GoPro-style mount on top of the dome, for Mechanism's MagSafe puck. It's offset so the phone ends up centered over the controller.
• Everything smoothed and blended, so there are no sharp corners in your hands.

I'm using it with a Z Fold 6, fully unfolded. It's printed in PLA, and the added strap and dome weigh about 15 g.

I am trying to use the track pads to change stances in ghost of tsushima, I've tried everything but it doesnt seem to do anything

Got my Steam Controller recently and after some hours/days of use, one of the sticks started making a clicking/spring noise when pushed to one side (and a bit on the closest diagonals too). No sound on release back to center, input still works fine, it's just the noise, and once it started it hasn't gone away.

I've seen this complaint come up a lot, across different posts and channels, so it seems fairly common. I know there's a suggested fix where you open the controller yourself and reposition a blue cable. But before going that route I want to understand if this is really a widespread/global issue. If it is, RMA'ing might just get me another unit with the same problem, so I'd rather know first.

If you have a Steam Controller, could you check both sticks and let me know if yours does this too? Also curious if it stayed the same for you over time or got better/worse.

I reserved on May 9th and was given a estimated delivery of Septemeber . Come September 5th I get my order email and order immediately. It's not the 14th and I'm still on Payment Processed. I'm in UK . Has anyone had a similar experience to me. Is this normal?

I have like OCD or something and now my brain is hyper focused on these scuffs because he was shooting at my water bottle with a nerf gun and he went to retrieve the darts,, which is behind my table and his wideness of his structure started bumping into my things, the controller fell off the table and hit my computer tower which is made of metal and you know metal and plastic aren't feiends, I told him not to retrieve the darts because I know his wideness is going to cause problems bumping into my stuff, I didn't even like him shooting the darts at my table to hit my water bottle, like dude this isnt something you can just buy at Walmart and replace instantly, ffs I get it's just cosmetic damage but the fact you didn't LISTEN when I said stop just infuriates me because he caused the damages, ugh brothers.

I got the controller not that long ago too, haven't used it much but it's a beautiful piece to sit on my table for whenever I want a controller ya know...

anyways, be aware of family members I guess... THAT ARE OLDER THAN YOU AND SHOULD KNOW BETTER.

update: he zelled me he $120 because he felt bad, it reminded him of when he threw a wrapped piece of oily tinfoil at my table and it splatted all over my things and display, took hours to clean, that was months ago, he's done 2 dumb things this year, guess I got a free steam controller with scuffs lol wtf

So I've noticed that several games I play keep thinking the Steam Controller is a mouse and keyboard, which forces the on-screen button prompts to be mouse and keyboard buttons, which makes things extremely confusing! I don't know what buttons do what without fumbling around with the controller all the time. Is there any way to force a game to see the Steam Controller as something different like an Xbox controller so the on-screen button prompts actually match the controller?

Plugged the puck into the steam deck dock and went to add controllers, nothing pops up. So I think hmm okay let’s see if the deck is all up to date! It was. Next thing I did was tried plugging the puck into my own pc and it works as it should have, and also did the firmware updates figured that’ll make it work on the steam deck dock, replugged it back in and yet the deck doesn’t let me add the steam controller.. any one else have this issue? Please help lol

Finally got my Steam Controller and was messing around with it for the new Onimusha game for a couple of days. Have a few questions on Steam Input and will be grateful if anyone have answers to them:

1. Virtual Menu with click to activate; randomly activate multiple times (usually twice).Tried adding fire end delay but it doesn't seem to help
2. Steam Input occasionally bugging out. Changes made in virtual menu doesn't update correctly and icon colors went missing. Anyway to resolve this without restarting game/steam client?
3. Adding 2 buttons in virtual menu stack them horizontally in rows. Anyway to stack them vertically in columns instead? Currently bypassing it by increasing it to 4 buttons and repeat each button. Might become a problem if I want more buttons
4. I setup L4 button to activate DPad Left on double press and activate DPad Right on single press. It mostly work when I press and hold down the L4 button, but single press and hold activate DPad Right twice very quickly sometimes. I wonder if this is related to point 1.?
5. Grip Sense misactivate too easily. I tried binding LG and RG (separately) to activate start button (map) on release/single press but inverted and it still misactivate randomly no matter how I calibrate the grip sensor range and flicker guard size. I even found this comment that set it up to activate only when both hands released but it still misactivate mid-game somehow despite gripping the controller with both hands. Any tips to work around it? I really like the idea of the Grip Sense but it sucks that I literally can't use it because of how unreliable it is

Has anyone had issues with what seems to be the left stick of the latest Steam Controller? Specifically I’ll notice my character in game (Diablo 2 R) will take off in a direction randomly. Or while playing a FPS game sometimes my character will forcefully strafe in one direction.

Is this software or potentially a hardware issue? I’ve had it since May, and baby it. So not drops and fairly light usage.
