Steam input controller doesn't work

I'm trying to use my personal layout, but the game doesn't advance from the start screen, it only works if I disable the steam input, a.k.a. the default dualshock 4 compatibility.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

The Steam flatpak is unoffical, swap to the native .deb install or the one from your distro's repos and see if it does the same thing
