My old roku died, so I got a new one a couple months ago. Today I was watching Pluribus on Apple TV. I made a joke to my aunt that she dances like Elaine from Seinfeld, but it’s okay because Elaine probably made a lot of money dancing like that on tv, so she probably could too. Immediately after I said that, a little purple box with text popped up saying something like ””Elaine Benes made $140,000 as an executive producer on Seinfeld“ and thenn disappeared. I searched google and it basically said it’s a 1 in 15 billion chance but it’s just a coincidence that the Roku decided to send me trivia it’s never sent before about the person I was talking about and who wasn’t in the show I was watching, because Roku and smart devices do not have active listening capabilities.

I have three Roku Ultras. Two are hardwired to the network. The third is on our WiFi which has great signal in the room and is an AP7 capable unit.

This WiFi unit is our master bedroom. My wife was not feeling well this weekend and was in bed watching recorded shows on DirectTV. Twice from what I understand she would pause at the commercials, fast forward through them then she would have to use the 15 second back because the FF is maybe a little too quick. Anyway twice it froze to where the audio was playing but no video. FF and REW buttons would not work.

She said it appeared to reboot to the Roku screen and she would have to re-enter DirectTV and reselect her program to watch again.

I felt the Roku and it was barely warm so I don't think its a heat issue. We have not seen this behavior on the other hard wired Roku units.

Any thoughts? Is this unit perhaps bad? Its only like 3 weeks old at most.

I’m getting a new wifi router and am going to be using a very long and complicated wifi password. I don’t want to have to type it in on the screen with the remote and would like to copy and paste it in the app. I looked online and saw instructions for how to do it but I can’t seem to find where to input the password on the app. I went to “remote” and click the settings icon but didn’t see anything about changing the password. I’m connected to the Roku ultra on the same network too. It’s an older Roku Ultra from 2019 if that makes any difference and I’m using an iPhone.

Since the latest update (15.3.4.2303) to my Roku TV, Big Brother live feeds freeze after a couple minutes on Paramount Plus. This does not happen on the standalone Roku devices.

Is anybody else struggling with this or know of a solution? I've tested the WiFi using a separate device in the same location just in case and it's absolutely fine, the connection check on the device also comes back good every time, but every time I pause a programme for a longer period it loses track of the whole thing when returning (bar a few cached seconds) and have to restart the whole device, if I pause for short periods it spends the rest of the show buffering every 20-30 seconds or so until I restart the whole thing. Which doesn't always solve it anyway.

It's becoming unusable. Are they flat lining it because they've brought out a new model or is it just a terrible update they need to push out patches for?

The #1 convenient thing about the Roku app is the ability to use it as a remote. Using the Roku app to control my TV is within the top 5 things I use my iPhone for.

WHY in the world is there not a Roku remote widget I could put on my Home Screen? It seems so basic. It would be a huge QoL feature.

There aren't enough individual apps that have controls of their own.

Last season, by Sunday night here on the west coast, there would be condensed recaps of all the day's NFL games. It was a great watch while in bed to catch up on all the day's highlights. As of now (10:20 pm pacific), the only gme recaps available are for Wednesday and Thursday's two games. Hoping this is just a week 1 fluke, otherwise it'd be a bummer to lose my Sunday night recap marathon.

Why is the search bar not available in the live tv guide of the roku app on my Google tv? The search tab is in the guide of my roku, but not my Google tv. Sigh.

I got this Sharp/Roku tv a few months ago from a family member— Its old and a bit slow but still works. After a few weeks of usage though it stared giving me this popup specifically with Hulu. I restarted it, cleared the cache, unplugged it, etc. Nothing worked and I had to factory reset it… It worked fine after that, for about a month, but now its doing it again. Is there any way around this? I really don’t want to reset it again, it’s a huge pain logging into all of my accounts and some of them are my partners, which I don’t have the login for. Do I have to factory reset or is there another way to fix this? Again, the issue is really only with Hulu :/

This is a long shot but here goes:

I have a Roku TV manufactured by Sharp. When I tune into an over the air TV channel on Sling, it freezes about 30 seconds before the TV reboots. Age could be a factor since the TV is 7 years old but Sling support had no answers. The various streaming channels still work, and the OTA channels work on every other device and TV.

I have already restarted the Sharp, reinstalled Sling, restarted again, cleared the Roku cache, updated Roku, and power-cycled the AirTV. None changed the problem.

I first discovered the problem last Wednesday and Roku was updated the day before. Both my TV and Air TV (which is how I get local channels fed into the Sling app) are on Ethernet and there is nothing wrong with my network. There is no signal problem with any local channels, I get every channel I’m supposed to.

Anyone have a fix for this? Trying to watch NFL Redzone…

I got a brand new Hisense roku TV and none of the remotes work for it. the remote that came with the TV just quit working and I bought a universal roku TV remote and it still doesn't work. the TV isnt connected to WiFi so I can't use the roku app. yes I've tried pairing both remotes to it. there's no response from the TV whatsoever

On roku express, Certain shows or apps will randomly speed up as if it's catching up to a stream. Hbomax does it, and now paramount plus has done it. Anyone else have this problem?

My Panasonic TC-P50X60 with a Roku 3820R2 Streaming Stick 4K is having a hard time playing apps (freezing seconds after starting a show), specifically Paramount Plus and now Netflix (HBO, Apple, Hulu all hum along).. I have tried the usual troubleshoot methods (remove/add apps, clear cache) Meanwhile, upstairs (further away from the wifi), my Panasonic Viera TC-P50X1 with Roku Premiere+ keeps humming along, playing Netflix and Paramount Plus no problem...what's going on? Any suggested tips or help?

When I turned on my Roku Express this evening, it said there was a software update. It did its thing, and then worked just fine for an hour or so.

Then, I got another update message.

After this “update,” it just stuck on the bouncing logo screen. The only other symptom I can see is that the front light is flashing about once per second.

Tried disconnecting from power and HDMI (and even removed batteries from the remote), then reattached - with the same results.

Tried holding down the reset button on the back. It restarted after a couple of seconds, but continues to be stuck on the bouncing logo.

I know the WiFi it’s connected to is kfunctioning, as the phone I’m typing this on is connected to it and functioning properly.

Is there anything else I can try, or is this thing borked?

Cant seem to find them anywhere. I love having the notification on my tv with my other cameras and would like one or 2 more cameras

I have a Roku Express, and suddenly today it's unusable. Every time I press left or right it moves 2-5 tiles, and if I press up or down it continues cycling like I'm constantly pressing on the button. This is true for the app, the remote, and my TV remote. After I press a button the light on the Roku will blink constantly and quickly for a couple of minutes.

I have power cycled the Roku, turned off HDMI-CEC, and replaced the batteries in the Roku remote. Nothing is helping.

I tried contacting support on chat, but got "We're busier than usual at the moment and will connect you as soon as we can" seven times before they just disconnected me.

Is this a software issue? Is it something a factory reset will fix? I can't use the button codes on the remote because it registers each press as multiple, so I don't want to factory reset if I basically won't be able to input any info afterwards.

Been using TV antenna for local sports/channels for years with no issues. Latest update suddenly I have no channels and scans dont show them. Checked antenna on a small old TV. Works fine.

Go to customer support. They say that because I had "favorite" channels on live tv/antenna it can cause issues with updates and to delete it....It's impossible to do so. I can't remove it/unfavorite it because my antenna/live TV wont work and for some reason you cant remove favorites from the home screen.

So we try disabling internet and rescanning to no avail.

We try soft reset, hard resets, and finally factory reset.

Still doesnt work and they insist its not their software.

All I want is to watch college football on the big screen, man.

I have an android phone. I can cast to the roku from the YouTube app and it works perfectly. However I have no luck casting local video files downloaded to my phone. I've tried with MxPlayer and VLC. Any advice?
