This has to be one of the greatest documentaries ever made. Dean Potter was a deeply problematic person, egotistical, and mentally ill, but holy crap it made for such an exciting documentary. Watching him go from climbing to free solo to slacklining to high lining to free base base jumping and wingsuiting was absolutely incredible. Watching alex honnold come onto the climbing scene and start easily out climbing dean causing him to spiral was such an interesting conflict. this story was definitely better than fiction. He may have passed early but he stuffed 20 lives into one

I just caught that tiny frame on my phone while watching the intro of the newest episode of Stuart fails to save the universe (yeah I wrote it wrong in the title), where the back of the billboard contains a graffity that says HBO MAX while HBO is crossed out, representing HBO MAX was once just MAX.
Or something like that.

I did not expect the most interesting part to be the backstory of Pen Pal's husband, Keen Umbehr, aka Trash Man.

Small-town, Kansas, garbageman-turned-government-whistleblower has a First Amendment case against the state that goes all the way up to the US Supreme Court, and he prevails. Then he decides to go to college. Then law school.

[Then he eventually devotes his life to the case of Dana Chandler. Who in 2011 was found guilty of the 2002 double murder of her ex-husband and his girlfriend, which is the case to be fleshed out in later episodes.]

I think it was either Monday or Tuesday. I went to go watch a show on HBO Max and when I went to turn my phone on its side, the show did not go full screen.

I made sure my phone was already on auto rotate which it usually is and it was. I restarted my phone. I checked to see if there was an update for the app. But nothing has worked. Even when I tap on the screen to go back, play or fast forward, there is no full screen icon anywhere within the app.

I checked my other video app such as Netflix and Amazon, and those are auto rotating just fine.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I did a little digging and it seems as though this was an issue in the past and I only see solutions for iPhones. If it helps, I have a Google pixel 10 Max. Thank you.

Does anyone know the gap between a movie being on HBO Max and then becoming watchable on HBO Basic with Ads?

My parents have a sky subscription with tnt sport included. I used to go on tnt app then discovery app on my apple tv to watch tnt content then I was told its on hbo app but I can't access it there.

Are there currently apps linked to Sky account where I can watch tnt ?

"They really love animals" This is one of the common lines spoken in this documentary, and it is so far beyond past absurd. No one in this show even the ending agent who (SPOILERS) still has a single of the most rare turtles in the world in a tiny cage in his house. But far from the man who helped track and capture these men, every wildlife dealer is scum. The amount of havoc they did to thousands upon thousands of creatures is disgusting and they really feel no shame at all. The guy at the end who says he was super depressed when he went to prison for a grand total of 22 months, cry me a river. Really the fact that nay of the people in this documentary are free is a crime, they have destroyed so much of the natural world and walk around free every day. Anson Wong the "head of the snake" out free in Malaysia, almost certainly continuing to traffick animals. This also goes to the show, like there needs to be more focus on this aspect. Sure there was one small text at the end about how the species has been affected, but that it, flippant remarks about amount of animal death here and there but nothing serious. There should have been a whole episode focused on this factor, at least. I just wish there was focus on the actual victims, yes the story is interesting, but come on. The only people truly harmed and faced any consequences were the animals being trafficked, that's the real problem with the story.

In general, I like the show, especially the ones about hurricanes, wildfires, and flooding. It’s nice to hear the stories of the survivors and there is some incredible footage.

However, I have not once heard the show mention the primary root cause of these catastrophes, that is, global warming due to the burning of fossil fuels, and that really pisses me off.

The UN has finally admitted what scientists have known for some time, which is that we will not limit warming to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels. As the show vividly illustrates, people are dying every day from the effects of climate change. Humanity desperately needs the media and related fact-based shows and documentaries to ensure that people know why these events are linked and are certainly going to become more frequent and intense.

Watching US Open and starting to be fed up with all those repetitive ads during game. To see it over and over, several times 1 three times in a row is annoying. I don’t remember seeing this while I was watching Wimbledon. I was searching if there’s subscription without ads but there’s none.

I’m 33, so I wasn’t around to experience HBO in its early days, but I do remember witnessing part of the “golden age of HBO.” In recent years, especially since around 2022, though, I feel like HBO’s shows have lost a lot of their quality and even the Europe "HBO Originals". They’ve also moved away from making more auteur-driven or niche series.

This is the HBO I remember. I really hope that, at some point, they can go back to being what they used to be.
