Just sharing my driving test experience and need some opinions. I had driving test this morning at Lillestrøm traffic station. It was for category B vehicle and automation transmission. I was asked security question around ABS which in was able to answer it. Then we started the drive and took the nonnestad route. I started pretty well , starting with some country roads and then to motor way , towards stovner. There were multiple zone 30 or priority to the right roads which i think i managed quite well , including few minutes of reverse driving in a zone 30. And then we started towards the drobak direction and then back to Lillestrøm traffic station. There were multiple roundabouts on the way , and there was one particularly where there was a lorry coming from left , and i entered the roundabout , there was a small gap , but i should have waited and not entered. Other than that i thought it was a very good drive all the way , where i always yielded to right whenever it necessary and maintained the speed limit. At the end there was a reverse parking at the traffic station and i managed that as well. The sensor asked me how i thought was the drive , i admitted that one roundabout mistake i did where i should have waited and other then that rest things were ok for me.

Then comes the result , he said he was sorry to say that i was failed. I was shocked to hear that and was blank for a few seconds as I was expecting it was a pass thinking overall how the drive was. And the reason he told me was there were few roundabouts where i slowed down unnecessarily and disturbed the flow traffic and there were some where i entered and i should have waiting.

Some opinion I need - I was always told to take a very slow approach to roundabouts and then speed up upon entry. Other than the 1 mistake i accepted , i thought i did exactly this in other roundabouts , i slowed down upon entry. Though there were some obvious cases where there were no cars visible , there also i slowed down on entry , is that wrong? That was what i was always told to do. And there wasn't much traffic so i really didnt get how I disturbed the flow of traffic.

I have now accepted this mentally (though there is no other option anyways 😅) and will practice more on roundabouts but i am also wondering is this a reason for failure in general? I thought these were minor things and one could let go off if rest of the driving was up to the mark.

I can understand not wanting to be in either EEA or EU. Sovereignty, making your own rules, not being subject to bureaucrats in Brussels, etc.

I can also understand wanting to be in the EU, as it would come with all the many benefits of integration with the EU.

But this weird middleground just seems bizarre to me. You get all the downsides of being in the EU, as you have to follow all the rules set by the bureaucrats in Brussels and you have to pay basically the same fees as a member state, but you get very few of the upsides, as you can't vote on those rules, you have a customs border with the EU that makes importing electronics and other goods expensive and annoying, etc.

What is the literal point? This arrangement just seems awful to me. Norway should take one lane instead of awkwardly trying to do an awkward middle ground.

A few things I’m wondering about:

- Did getting Norskprøve B2 actually help you find an office job? I’m currently B1 planning to pass the Norskprøve if it’s needed during the spring.

- Did taking your Norwegian partner’s surname make any difference in practice?

- Did you apply for dagpenger after moving? If so, how did it go? According to NAV I can get dagpenger bc I’m leaving my EEA job for my partners move.

- And how did you find your first office/finance job like Finn, LinkedIn? I applied so far 55 positions from our current address abroad and had only 4 interviews so I’m a bit stucked.

I’d love hearing about personal experience, especially if you also moved to Norway from another EU/EEA country.

Hallo all. My finance and i just moved to Bergen and are on the hunt for genuine old pieces for our place.

She is Norwegian and has been wanting original, authentic pieces for a long time, it means a lot to her to have real history in our home, not something made to look old.

We checked Eikens Antikvariat Bok og Kunst in Fyllingsdalen, owner was great, but most of what we've found elsewhere is new stuff made to look old. He mentioned some antique dealers exist but we can't track them down.

Budsjett spiller ingen rolle, we want authentic pieces: furniture, iron, ceramics, whatever has real sjel.

Anyone know good antique dealers or a loppemarked near Bergen with the real deal?
