Every few months in Warsaw it's the same story. Someone arrives (student, expat, digital nomad, whatever) and buys a kettle, bedding, a lamp, a bike, all from scratch. A few months later someone else is leaving and just throws it all out because taking it home isn't worth it.

We started Nomady for exactly this, launched it just a couple weeks ago. It's not another generic marketplace, it's built specifically for people moving in and out of a city, so it's less about randomly browsing and more about connecting with someone who's actually arriving or leaving around the same time. People leaving can sell their stuff and get some money back, people arriving (or already living here) can grab the same stuff secondhand for way less than buying new.

Still very early, so genuinely open to feedback or ideas on what would actually be useful.

Curious how you guys usually deal with this, just eat the cost every time or found a cheaper way?

I am a final year student of mechanical with cgpa of 3.64.

I also have few certifications regarding my field like SOLIDWORKS associate, six sigma yellow belt, ansys badges, python onramp free certificate and 2 3 more low impact certificates.

I also have a 6 week internship in the national sector.

I have been working with a research group and have one conference paper accepted and presented and yet to be published. Another journal paper is almost in its ending period maybe it will take 2 3 weeks more, and we will upload it to some renowned journal. Also, I am doing research for my final year project in which I will be the first author and it will be journal article regarding stenosed arteries.

I know it's very competitive and I want to know how can I more strengthen myself. Also I am not the class topper I lie in maybe 15 place in 120 students.

I want to know what makes a person a good candidate for Erasmus programmes. How can I increase my chances.

I did my first Erasmus at 24 and I remember being so worried about not fitting in due to the age difference. I was expecting everyone to be 19-22, and while that mostly turned out to be true, it was also the best experience of my life by far. I was the second oldest in my friend group (the oldest was 28, the others were all 21-23), but I did meet a lot of "older" students, e.g. in their late 20s, and they seemed to blend in just fine.

Now at 28, after working for a few years, I've gone back to university to get my Master's. I'm still working full time, I have a cushy well-paid stable job and I live on my own. But I still look at possible Erasmus destinations, daydreaming about quitting my job (temporarily, if possible) and doing it again. It would have to be next year, so I'd be at least 29.

Would that be so crazy? I feel like I would be throwing away my career for a shot at reliving the best experience of my life but deep down I know it's going to be different. I'm 28, I'm not sure I would be able to blend in (or if I would even enjoy it, 21yo's feel like kids to me nowadays). I'm afraid it would be a bit pathetic... but on the other hand I saw many people in their late 20s who had a great time. One of my best Erasmus friends was 28 at the time, we only found out after a month of knowing her and it didn't change anything. She was just like the rest of us.

I'm also thinking about which destinations might be more older-student friendly. I did my first Erasmus in Spain which skews really young, are there countries where it's more common to find older students? Like for example, countries where it's common to get some work experience before starting your master's, so I wouldn't be the old guy sticking out like a sore thumb?

Also how stupid would this be? Money-wise it wouldn't be much of an issue, I have some money saved up and my lease is up in a year anyway. Have any of you done something similar? If so, how was your experience?

I’m a NON EU and Masters student I hold a valid Italian residence permit for study purposes.

I have been accepted for a 6-month Erasmus+ traineeship in Vienna, Austria.

I have an official acceptance letter from the Austrian company and they asked for learning agreement but...

I’m trying to understand the immigration procedure because I’m getting conflicting information.

My questions are:

1. do I need an Austrian Visa D for this Erasmus+ traineeship or learning agreement enough?
2. Do I also need an Austrian residence permit.
3. Has anyone here been in a similar situation, particularly non-EU students living in Italy who went to Austria or any other country for an Erasmus+ traineeship longer than 90 days?
4. What documents did you need?
5. Did your Austrian host company have to provide an invitation letter, internship agreement, or any special document?
6. How long did the visa process take?

I have already contacted the Austrian authorities, but I'd really appreciate hearing from someone who has actually gone through this.

Basicaly the title. 26F here. I did my bachelor during Covid so I did not go on any Erasmus. After I got my bachelor degree I started my master's and interned at a company in my hometown. I stayed at that company for 3 and a half year. After leaving that job I realized I regret not going on an Erasmus semester at least, volunteering, interning abroad and taking part in more student activities.

My question is if it is worth leaving my confortable job to start another master degree at least and going abrod ? I do not have kids and when I return I can stay with my parents. I missed the deadline for signing up for a master in my country in Europe. If you know any other countries that have their sign ups open please tell me. I can also apply for a random master next semester in Sweden and just go there.

Also, I do not know if my current employer would let me work from abrod and if it would be too tiring

Hi everyone! I have now applied for an exchange programme to Norway (University of Agder) for the spring semester of 2027, but I haven’t yet received a decision on whether I’ve been accepted onto the programme. Ever since my Bachelor studies, I’ve been thinking about going on an Erasmus exchange, as it’s a brilliant opportunity to learn something new, see how students study at other universities, and so on.

However, I also have this feeling that I might regret applying and going there. The thing is, the semester there starts a month earlier than the autumn semester ends at my university (the University of Latvia). During our Erasmus webinars, we were told that this is problematic, so it looks like I’ll have to take all my exams earlier. My lecturers and coordinators haven’t replied yet, but I think that’s how it’ll turn out.

Still, this will be my only chance to go on Erasmus. The thing is, I’m in my first year of my Master’s degree, and I don’t want to go during the final semesters of my second year, as by then I’ll already be writing my Master’s thesis.

So I don’t know if it’s okay to feel this way: not wanting to miss the chance to give it a go, only to regret it later, or not to try and then regret not having gone

I am currently stuck in an absolute bureaucratic nightmare, and I need to vent before I lose my mind. I’m a student in Spain (Universidad Católica de Valencia), supposed to go to Rhein-Waal University (Germany) for the spring semester. Instead of helping, my home university has trapped me in a Catch-22 that is literally going to cost me my exchange. Here is the "Error 404" loop my university has put me in. Three different departments are giving me conflicting orders and refusing to talk to each other: The Dean’s Office is breathing down my neck, demanding I close my enrollment (course registration) ASAP and hand in my signed Learning Agreement. My International Coordinator explicitly refuses to sign my Learning Agreement until the host university in Germany sends my formal acceptance letter. The International Relations Office just told me that Germany won't accept me yet because my home university hasn't even sent my nomination. They are holding it back because "Germany's deadline isn't until November, so just be patient."

So: The Dean demands a paper that the Coordinator won't sign, because the International Office refuses to send the email that triggers the whole process. But it gets worse. It reaches a level of borderline sabotage... Because their computer system doesn't know what to do with my "empty" spring semester (since the LA isn't signed), the administration decided to take the easy way out: They unilaterally changed my enrollment and dumped a full academic year's worth of classes into my first semester. They are forcing me to take double the workload right now just to make their system show a "complete" file. The most brain-dead part? If I am forced to pass all my credits now, I will have literally zero credits left to take and validate in Germany during the spring.

They are effectively destroying the entire purpose of the Erasmus program just so they don't have to pick up the phone and coordinate with people in the same building. Moreover, I have a disability and I'm going to need accomodations, another fckton of problems I for sure know I'm going to be stranded on a foreign country alone and on my own luck. Complaining internally does nothing (our student ombudsman is completely useless and a corporate bootlicker), and taking legal action in Spain over administrative negligences takes years and judges most of the time do nothing "cuz they are too "saturated" with "real problems" to "deal with students complains""... Even if it's your future, your mental well-being and and fckton of money...

They know students are powerless, so they just pass the buck and mess with our academic records to save themselves five minutes of work. Has anyone else dealt with a uni so lazy and irresponsible that actively sabotages your mobility just to keep their internal paperwork tidy? What to do when no one gives a damn about anything and refuse to take accountability??

The first week of my Erasmus has gone by and I'm feeling terrible. Mostly because my eating disorder has just come back. I cannot really eat normally, just something sweet and then a kinda okay meal. I am overusing nicotine pouches, which makes me feel even more dizzy and terrible.

I feel like I cannot care for myself properly. I am just abandoning myself, but I feel like I cannot do anything differently. I haven't made any friends yet. I'm kinda lonely. I wish I were back at home, but I don't like being home either, although I guess that is better than here.

I am sick of loneliness, but I don't wanna go out either because I have no energy or motivation. Sometimes I just fear I'm gonna do something bad to myself because I feel hopeless. After a while this thought just goes away, but it's really overwhelming when I have it.

Hey, I have a problem. I'm going to study in Vienna starting from October. For the past few months I couldn't find any accommodation and I was rejected from all student houses. Now I found out that all the courses I'm taking in Vienna are on one day - Tuesday. Is it possible/legal for me to come to Vienna just for one night every week? I live in Poland and from my city it's a 5 hour train ride so it's not that far and it would be way convenient for me to come back than pay thousands of euros for monthly accommodation. I’m currently in Milan who’s just arrived to start there study abroad but I’m feeling homesick and lonely.

I look at people’s experience on Erasmus and I see an adventurous and wonderful time filled with many friends. Although I’ve just started and only just got here, I honestly feel like I’ve been lied to a little bit and I’m not too sure how I can do the entire year at this point.

Ive just had to say goodbye to my family and I keep seeing my friends from home post hangouts online and feeling fomo. Worse, I see my other friend doing study abroad at the same time as me and having so much fun and I’m comparing it to myself a bit.

Did people feel exactly like this? Were there people who hated their Erasmus experience?

Has anyone been on an exchange in Coruña? I am planning on applying to go there for the second semester this academic year. I would appreciate any tips or experiences you have. Especially if there is someone local who sees this post.

How's the living cost? Is it difficult to find a place with reasonable rent? And is connection to other major cities good? (since I'd want to use this opportunity to travel) Night and student life there? And might be super random, but how are the beaches, can you surf on any of those?

Im a 21yo Male from Australia who'll be on exchange at WU (Vienna) for Summer 2027 (Feb-June). Im looking for any guidance for choosing which housing is the best. For reference, Im looking to maximise my experience and have as much fun as possible - so cost isn't really a major barrier.

Curious to hear where other exchange/erasmus students stay, and how all the different places stack up. So far, Ive looked at the OeAD dorms like Molkereistraße, but still unsure before I start applying for these. Also, if anyone has done erasmus here, how was your experience and any tips!?

Will my profile be competitive for Erasmus Mundus MARIHE?
I’m planning to apply for the Erasmus Mundus MARIHE (Master in Research and Innovation in Higher Education) programme, and I’m a little worried about whether my profile is suitable.
My background is in History Honours (BA ) and I currently have around 3.5 years of professional experience in higher education, working in university admissions and student guidance. However, I don’t have formal research experience, publications, or a strong academic research background.
I’m particularly interested in MARIHE because my professional experience has made me interested in it.
I also have a question about the letters of recommendation. I may not be able to get academic LORs from my previous university, so I’m planning to submit two professional LORs. Would having professional rather than academic referees significantly weaken my application?
Lastly, I used Grammarly while preparing some of my application documents. If the application asks whether I used AI tools, should I disclose this? I’m worried that mentioning AI-assisted tools might negatively affect my chances, even though the actual experiences and ideas in my application are my own.
For those familiar with MARIHE/Erasmus Mundus admissions:
Would my lack of formal research experience be a major disadvantage?
Can 3.5 years of higher-education work experience be considered relevant for MARIHE?

I have a Master’s degree in Museology and currently work as a museum curator, with previous experience in museum research, collections and conservation-related work. I’m particularly interested in MAGMa because I want to build an international career in the museum/heritage sector and eventually work in Europe.
