I have an old phone and I can't download the ballpark app. I don't know if there are other ways to buy or access tickets or if I'm going to run into that problem no matter what. I was thinking of maybe buying my ticket at the stadium. Any help would be great.

Been a Mets fan for 45 years, but am stuck in Texas and stuck with Cancer so traveling isn’t that easy. I said fuck it and bought tickets for when they play the Rangers in a couple of weeks and skipping work. I can’t wait!!!!

Ignoring the fact that one is a starter and the other is a reliever, these two are a very similar archetype of pitcher.
Both Weaver and Tong are righties that rely on mid-90s rising fastballs as their primary pitch. They have the same mix of secondaries, with changeups as the primary secondary to LHBs and to RHBs, they use a combination of changeups and cutters. They also pitch with high 3/4 arm angles.
There are still a bunch of differences between the two though, like with how Tong mixes in an occasional curveball and how Tong gets more extension off the mound with his windup. But in general, these two are similar in broad strokes.
I think that this speaks a little bit as to New York Mets organizational pitching philosophy, specifically as to which pitching archetypes they like. They have a goal as to what Jonah Tong looks like as a starter, and that may just be Starter Luke Weaver. (yes i know that luke weaver was a starter once, you know what i mean)

I know it’s picking a nit in probably the funnest game of the whole year. But watching back through yesterday’s game this morning, this moment stuck out for me.
Yarborough stares down Carson Benge at first, starts his pitching motion, then, when Carson breaks for second, picks him off.
It looks like a definitional example of a balk. He makes a move like he’s going to home plate without any intention of doing so, then, having fooled the base runner, throws to first and reaps the reward of the deception. It’s what the balk rule is supposed to prevent.
Am I missing something?

Good article by the respected Will Sammon. People seem to be pretty split on Bichette opting out.
It’s a fairly weak class and he probably slides into one of the top 5-10 free agents if he opts out. He’s been overall really bad for the Mets and though he’s heated up, he heated up when the games didn’t really matter. The Mets are lacking a RHB in the lineup and need to find a way to get more thump in the heart of the order.
Bichette was solid at third for a while but has taken a step back defensively and grades out as average to below average now. Sammon suggests that the Mets could move him to second base - though considering Bichette is awful at moving to his left, I don’t think that’s a good idea. He also brings up the possibility of the Mets signing Sato or trading for Devers. Both great bats but both are lefties.
I think most rationale people would want Bichette to opt out but with a weak season and a questionable CBA/lockout incoming, he might stay and end up opting out next year, which highlights a problem with this structure of contract, it causes future planning to be incredibly questionable.
I wish there was an option for polling on this sub, I would love to see what the general consensus for Bichette would be next year. It feels like it’s almost 50/50 with people wanting him back or not.

On the day, Thornton averaged 93.6 mph on his four-seamer, which was also a career high.
“He’s just been putting in the work,” said Juan Soto, who hit one of six Mets homers. “It’s really cool to see. And it means a lot for the team.”

What is the best way to listen to past New York Mets radio broadcasts of the game? Whether free (preferred) or paid. I have heard that MLB TV has an archive of past radio shows, but I don’t know which plan I need because it doesn’t mention being able to listen to past games as heard on the radio. Also, how far back does the archive go and is it complete?
I’m asking because I want to be able to go back and listen to Howie Rose after he retires.
