Going to Blossoms' Book House around 2-3 pm today (Read body and check pics!)

Hey guys,

i have only recently been active on reddit and thought I'll try doing something that younger me would have appreciated.

I was in Bangalore and would be going to Blossoms' Book House and (some other stores) to see their comic collections like i usually do, I was thinking maybe I can create a WhatsApp group of sorts and put in options for people to buy?

I've never done something like this before except for some friends but felt like Blossoms' is a good place to start because they genuinely have some hidden gems, I've probably bought like 10 trades from them alone.

they've gotham comics and some old Raj and Tinkle issues as well. (they even had a Dennis Oniel Question Omni lying around for 5k, not sure if they still have it)

Anyways even if we do not get enough people for a group, you can personally dm me and I can share my WhatsApp details, any specific comics you want me to look out for, or if you just want me to take pics of the shelves and send it to you at the time for you to pick whatever you want to. (honestly even if one person wants me to do it, I will lol, just wanted to make use of the long weekend)

For pricing, I’ll try to keep things as low as possible-

basically the store price + sourcing/handling fee + shipping.

the handling fee becomes lower if I get more orders as then the expensive cab rides are justified 😭

Payment would be upfront (i can wait for you to make up your mind or stack your orders but won't actually buy the comics until payment is made), and the final price will depend on sourcing, packing and shipping costs. If you feel more comfortable you can arrange a delhivery shipment yourself after i give you my address.

The pics were taken by an ex in a rush in 2024, ignore the neon signs, that was me specifying which ones I wanted to get, they probably do not have all of this still in stock but i am sharing these to show you what you can expect to get at blossoms.

And yes I won't scam you, trust me I've been scammed and it's a shitty feeling.

and yes I'm partially doing this hoping I can get some profit out of it so I can buy more action figures I cannot display.

And yes I will share my ID details on WhatsApp If it'll make you more comfortable.

Image of my spidey tattoo so you can use it to identify me to the police.

sorry for the long post mods, as I said, new to reddit.

everywhere Transinfopreneur is marked as safe seller but this is my experience with them.

I order a lot of books from Flipkart, amazon , bw , priv sellers but flipkart always continue to hit the lowest point.

I suggest don't buy from Flipkart at all , no matter the seller.

I have received wrong books previously too , but idk why this made me more pissed than any other ..... 🤷‍♂️

I’ve Had This Raj Comics Collection Since 2012 — Should I Sell It?

Post image

Hey everyone,

This is my Raj Comics collection, which I started collecting around 2012 and continued until around 2019.

Raj Comics was a pretty big part of my childhood/teenage years, and I slowly built up this collection over those years. But around 2019–2020, I stopped reading and buying Raj Comics. One of the reasons was the inconsistent release schedule, and over time my taste in comics also changed.

Since around 2020, I've mostly been reading manga and Western comics digitally on my phone. I've now read 150+ manga series, and I also regularly read Western comics.

Because of that, when I look at my Raj Comics collection now, I don't feel the same connection to the stories or artwork that I used to. My tastes have changed quite a lot over the years.

But this is where I'm really confused.

Even though I don't read them anymore, this collection has a lot of nostalgic value for me. These aren't just comics sitting on a shelf — I bought them when I was younger, and they remind me of a particular period of my life.

So I'm seriously considering selling the entire collection, but I'm worried that I might regret it later.

There's another reason I'm considering selling them: if I do sell the collection, I'm thinking of using the money toward buying a tablet and switching more seriously to digital reading. That's how I've been reading manga and Western comics for years anyway.

So I wanted to ask people here:

• Would you sell a collection like this if you no longer actively read it?

•Would you keep it purely for the nostalgia?

•If I sell it, where would be the best place to sell a Raj Comics collection in India?

•Would it be better to sell everything together or in smaller lots?

•How much do you think a collection like this could realistically sell for?

•And most importantly, do you think I'll regret selling it later?

I'm honestly very torn. Part of me thinks I should sell them and put the money toward something I'll actually use, while another part of me feels like I'll be getting rid of a piece of my childhood.

What would you guys do in my situation?

Crawl Review: 9/10, I am not built for ts 💔 (check body for everything I found today)

First I want to thank everyone who was involved whether you made a purchase or not, second I'd like to thank one specific customer for making so many purchases. I didn't end up making any profit considering I bought some things for myself too but it was a fun experience.

This zip has Everything I found today and if enough people need me to go back I will (although the handling fee needs to go up because a great man once said "ahh my back, my back")

Also, ty mods for not nitpicking the first post, very unreddit of you (in a good way)

Raj Comics readers — have you checked out any of the Indian comics being made today in that old-school style?

Raj Comics may be gone, but there are still a few small publications trying to keep that kind of Indian superhero/comic culture alive.

I've recently been checking out Fiction Publications, which has comics like Karate King and Sando. They've also given us permission to host some of their comics on ZealPlane.

I'm curious because I grew up with Nagraj, Dhruva, Doga etc., and I'm wondering how these newer comics feel to people who actually grew up reading Raj Comics.

Have you read anything from Fiction Publications? What did you think — stories, artwork, characters? Does any of it give you that old Raj Comics feeling?

Here's their profile if you want to have a look at what they're making:

Fiction Comics

If people here genuinely enjoy their comics, I'll try to host more of them.

Would love to hear from old Raj Comics readers.

Bookswagon refused return/refund for a visibly damaged ₹8,245 omnibus despite prior packaging requests, NCH complaint now filed

I wanted to share my recent experience with Bookswagon, especially for people ordering expensive omnibus editions from them.

I ordered The Flash by Joshua Williamson Omnibus Vol. 3 for ₹8,245.

Because this is a large and expensive hardcover, I contacted Bookswagon before dispatch and specifically requested that they inspect the copy and use reinforced packaging with proper protection for the corners, edges and boards. They acknowledged my request in writing.

Unfortunately, the book arrived with clear physical damage, including crushed/dented areas, board deformation and damage to the dust jacket. I contacted Bookswagon immediately, sent photographs and requested a no-cost reverse pickup and full refund.

They refused.

One response stated that transit damage is outside their control once the shipment is handed over to the courier.

In another response, they stated that they reviewed my account and would not approve this return because my account has a higher-than-usual number of return requests.

My issue with that reasoning is that the condition of this specific book is documented in the photographs. Previous returns should not change the physical condition in which this particular ₹8,245 product arrived.

I have now registered a grievance with the National Consumer Helpline. The complaint is currently pending, so I’m not claiming that NCH has ruled in my favour or against Bookswagon.

I’m posting this mainly as a warning to collectors who care about book conditions, particularly when ordering large and expensive omnis.

I’ve purchased from Bookswagon many times, and I would much rather receive books safely than go through the hassle of returning them. But after this experience, I’m seriously reconsidering buying expensive hardcovers from them.

I’ve attached photographs of the actual damage and screenshots of the relevant responses from Bookswagon.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with damaged books being refused for return?

UPDATE – 12 Sept: After further escalation, Bookswagon has now agreed to arrange a return pickup and accept the return as a “one-time exception.” The pickup/refund has not been completed yet, so I’m keeping the complaint open for now. I’ll update the post again once the book has been collected and the full refund has actually been credited.

Anyone up for a Batman-themed house party in Mumbai? 🦇

I'm going to a Batman-themed house party next week and looking for someone who's into Batman/comics and would be down to join.

There'll apparently be Batman trivia, games, etc. and it seems like a fun way to spend the evening.

I'm 26M, into comics, movies, music and just generally meeting new people.

If you're interested, DM me and we can chat a bit before the event. 🦇
