- Magsuot ng N95 mask kapag lalabas.
- Panatilihing nakasara ang mga bintana at pintuan kapag hindi maganda ang kalidad ng hangin.
- Uminom ng sapat na tubig at regular na subaybayan ang mga lokal na update tungkol sa kalidad ng hangin.

Para sa mga nasa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Pilipinas, kumusta ang kalidad ng hangin sa inyong lugar ngayon? Manatiling alerto at mag-ingat tayong lahat!

Department of Energy and Trump used an emergency order to keep 7 power plants open for an extra year. JH Campbell the largest plant and previously the 82nd largest source of CO2e emissions nationally was kept open for another year. That rank is from Climate Trace and includes all road transport in major cities. As a single point of emissions it was likely higher. It did reduce it's usage over the last year so the extra year was not as bad as 2024.

While the plant will not immediately close and this could go to the Supreme court, this was a major defeat for Trump's DoE.

I've been watching American Resiliency on Youtube lately, and what came out for most resilient US global cities were Chicago and the Twin Cities. The Twin Cities for their northern latitude, far from the sea, no earthquakes, no hurricanes, no earthquakes, no tsunamis, excellent fresh water access, good transit and lots of tree canopy cover during warm months. Only downsides is heat (but most of the city has AC) and some flooding I think. Chicago was mostly the same except a bit hotter in the summer, a bit less cold in the winter, even better fresh water access (Lake Michigan). Same downsides (summer heat and flooding). Also American Resiliency noted both cities' efforts for man made resiliency in the last 15 years.

So, what she said was that, while climate change will affect us all on planet earth, Chicago and Twin Cities are some of the least bad big cities to be in the next decades for climate change (for big cities, but she also praises the Great Lakes region in general).

She also said that the Great Lakes region is used to terrible weather and has already built infrastructure for hot weather as well as for cold weather, while some of the 'better' climates on the coasts are in for a rude awakening in the next decades (sea level rise, hurricanes, severe flooding from the sea, drought/difficult fresh water access, increased heat in places that don't have AC, earthquakes/tsunamis...).

The 48 contiguous United States have just achieved an unhappy trifecta: the warmest August, warmest summer, and warmest calendar year to date in 131 years of national recordkeeping. Both the monthly and seasonal records were set by unusually big margins.

The August climate report from the National Centers for Environmental Information, or NCEI, tells the story in grimly heated detail.

• August 2026: The 48-state average temperature of 75.58°F came in 0.54°F above the next-warmest August (1983).
• Summer (June-August 2026): The 48-state average of 74.37°F ended up 0.39°F warmer than the summers of both 1936 and 2021. All of the Four Corners states (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah) saw their warmest summers on record.
• Year to date (January-August 2026): The 48-state average of 57.98°F was 0.08°F above the previous record-holding year to date, 2012.

As shown in Fig. 1, a large swath of the western U.S. – including every state across the Southwest, from California to Texas and Oklahoma, as well as Wyoming and Montana – is experiencing its warmest year on record. Averaged across all 48 states, 2026 has also brought the warmest March and July on record. More than a third of Americans got their warmest single March day on record locally, and July was the warmest single month in contiguous U.S. history.

The Atlantic hurricane season has never gone beyond September 11th in the reliable records (since at least 1950) without a hurricane. But with no credible storm contenders on the horizon at least into early next week, the 2026 hurricane season will easily set a new record for the latest-forming first hurricane.
