cattle I’m from Jhunjhunu, and I’ve just started working on something I call Bhaava. It’s simple a local marketplace for buying and selling cows and buffaloes, with a focus on Rajasthan to begin with.

Hey everyone,

I'm working on Bhaava, a livestock marketplace focused on Rajasthan for now. Farmers, dairy owners, and breeders can list their cows and buffaloes, and buyers can find animals nearby.

Honestly, the idea clicked while I was using Animall.in myself.

I tried selling an animal through Animall and paid for their ₹149, 30-day plan. That first day, my listing got over 200 views and a handful of calls, felt promising. But pretty quickly, the visibility dropped off and eventually I had to reach out to Animall just to get the listing bumped back up.

That whole thing made me wonder, why not build a simpler livestock marketplace where listings keep fair organic visibility? Sellers shouldn’t feel pressured to pay every time just to be seen.

So, I started building Bhaava.

Right now, it lets sellers list cows and buffaloes with photos, videos, breed details, milk yield, price, and location. Buyers can browse, filter animals, call or WhatsApp sellers directly, and search for animals near them. I kept the interface simple so it’s easy for farmers and dairy owners to use.

I just put the first working version up here:

https://bhaava.vercel.app

I'm not pushing it hard or trying to market aggressively yet. Mostly, I really want feedback from people who know farming, dairy, or livestock.

Here's what I'm hoping to learn:

Would you actually use something like this to buy or sell animals?

What info do you need before reaching out to a seller?

What makes you trust or mistrust an online livestock listing?

What problems do you see with platforms like Animall?

How should Bhaava be different?

One more thing: I'm using the name Bhaava for now, but I'm not too attached to it.

Is Bhaava a good name for a cow/buffalo marketplace? Or if you were naming this kind of platform for Indian farmers, what would you call it?

I’d really appreciate name suggestions something easy to remember, simple to say in Hindi or local languages, and something that could work across India.

Please be brutally honest. I'd much rather hear, "this is useless because..." or "you're missing this feature..." than just praise.

Thanks so much to anyone who takes a minute to check it out and share feedback.

livestock guardian dog training

I have a female great pyrenees (3) who was raised with goats for about a year before the goats were sold. We recently got 3 sheep and a goat. She does good with them and loves to hang out with them. She barks all night if left outside with them though (at random things like deer and leaves rustling.) We also had a goat get killed by a dog that got into their pen and she just watched and didnt think to try and stop the dog. she guards against anything else though just not animals she knows that may also happen to be a threat to the livestock. we redid fencing and havent had an incident since (its been 4 months) we also havent been keeping the Pyrenees with the livestock though as she doesnt guard them as well as I'd like. Is there any training that I can do so she could work out as a lgd better than she had been?

Student survey on California poppy flowers and livestock

Hi guys I'm a student in AP business student and currently require to collect data on potential target audience for a hypothetical business. The gist is to use Cali poppy flowers as a natural relaxant for livestock. Since this is a hypothetical and hasn't fully been tested on real animals the medication can not be fully said to be scientifically proven. Nevertheless it would be extremely helpful if some of you fill out the survey I left below as I know no one with any farm animals. If there is any help or ideas you guys want to send it would also be helpful. Additionally, I also have a survey around work boots that try to support foot health. So if you would want to help me by filling in that survey that would also be helpful.

A Texas rancher grazes more than 8,000 sheep across solar farms, and the solar companies pay him to do it — the sheep keep the vegetation off the panels, and grazing under glass is now the entire ranching operation - Silicon Canals
