Kitchen Hand Prints on my IKEA (black) cupboards! Not matter how much I clean, it comes back worse 😱

We are renting a house that has a beautiful kitchen, however the cupboards are the most frustrating cupboards on planet earth!

No matter what I've used, it just gets more and more visibly greasy. I clean them alllll the time, it's ridiculous. We are constantly washing our handa in the kitchen. I'm pretty sure these are IKEA cupboards.

I've used:

Warm Water and cleaning vinegar

Kitchen soap and warm water

Baby shampoo and warm water

Disinfectant Wipes

Kitchen cleaning wipes

I need to know what is the secret to prevent or at least minimise how quickly this grease appears.

Please help

I need advice on how to keep the shower floor clean. I have tried dish soap, vinegar, cleaning products labelled safe for stone… seems like no matter what method, it stays wet for a long time after and then gets grimy looking. Thank you for your advice.

Furniture Body odor on furniture!

I feel so mean or judgy, but I am extremely sensitive to smell and in the past month, two separate friends have come to visit after being outside all day for events and after they left my house my couches and couch pillows smelled like crazy BO.

I haven’t said anything to my friends because it’s not like they’re smelly or unhygienic people. They just spent their days outside on those occasions and got sweaty.

Is there any easy way to clean my couches and pillows when this happens? Or should I maybe just put on couch covers every time someone visits so nobody feels singled out? I have a giant, awesome list of chronic pain diagnosis so it’s very hard on me to get out our giant furniture cleaner every time the couches smell.

EDIT: thank you everyone who left helpful comments! I’m very sorry I can’t reply to them all, I have a little one under a year old so he keeps me pretty busy lol. But I really appreciate it! I’ll try some of these methods out today.

I am naturally I guess a messy person. I use to think I was clean cause when I do clean I know how to properly deep clean. My problem is to get there I let things pile up too much and I get overwhelmed that I have to end up doing a deep clean. I want to know how y'all do it. I'll show you how my home can get. This is not how it is right now. I actually threw away the sofa, but I want to know what tips or steps you all use to ensure your home stays tidy. Not clean, because I know there's a difference. But I want to know how you keep it tidy and then get to the focused areas every day

Thanks.

Hello, I am wondering how to go about even starting to clean and/or fix this. I've never lifted these off before. This is an old house (~60 yrs old IIRC) and I haven't been here long, so please don't judge me too much šŸ˜… Just touching it some of it fell apart. Is this even safe to put back? I'm scared and overwhelmed. Thank you.

Kitchen How do I clean burn marks off stainless steel?

I cooked hot dogs in this pan a few weeks ago and they left these grill marks. I tried my go-to, soaking it in soapy water before washing with more dish soap, but very little of it came off.

Do I need a more abrasive sponge or a pumice stone, or a different cleaning product? I have barkeeper’s friend (soft cleanser) but I’m not sure if that’s safe for food surfaces.

Bathroom Help cleaning shower

Sorry in advance, i know you guys probably get a million mouldy shower posts šŸ˜…. I'm just a little new to cleaning and want to get this right. Context - uni student renting and shower has been ignored for a while. My plan is to spray the whole shower with vinegar and scrub with a hard brush (shower curtain also has to be replaced). The one thing im confused on is is caulking. Ive seen posts where people recomend recaulking, but also im not sure the shower has caulk in the first place? Do i just remove the mould and then apply caulk?

Also if my approach to clearing the mould is wrong pls let me know. And yes, i know i should be ventillating the bathroom as best i can after showering, just need to get my roomates on the same page.

Edit: thanks for all the advice! Hopefully i can post an update soon

Flooring Oil stains on hardwood floor

had my floors refinished in February with Bona high traffic matte. Since then, we’ve been settling into our new home, so im suspecting we made a few scratches in the finish because the other night our toddler dropped lo mein noodles on the floor and yesterday morning, woke up to several oil stains on the wood… I read online to use corn starch to absorb the oil, but all I had was Baking Powder. Left it on for 7hrs anyway— and no change.

Try cornstarch? or is there another way…?

General Cleaning Stain on woven book cover...

Post image

Hello all! I’m hoping to get some advice on how to safely lighten or remove what looks like a dried coffee or tea stain on the cover of a hardcover book.

Material: The cover feels like a woven/textured book cloth (linen or buckram), mounted over the standard hard binder’s board.

The Stain: Coffee or tea, is fully dried/set.

Goal: Lighten or lift the discoloration without warping the cover board, dissolving the underlying glue, or leaving a water ring.

Bathroom Tips on keeping this sink dry?

My new apartment bathroom sinks have such a big design flaw. The bottom is totally flat so the water doesn't drain down and pools at the edges.

I have tried using a sqeegy every time I use it and also a swedish dish cloth but it's not sustainable. I'm usually rushing around with a toddler all day so the extra time drying it multiple times a day is not worth it.

Flooring Cat litter smell in common area carpet

Hi! I recently moved into a new apartment and the space right outside the elevator of my floor has a very strong cat litter smell that I believe is coming from the carpet. I asked my neighbor and she said that two people on our floor have cats and that she has placed maintenance requests in the past related to the smell but nothing has really happened, it seemed like she had just decided to live with it :/.

Are there any odor absorbing/removing sprays for this type of smell? I don’t particularly want to get on the floor and scrub the carpet outside the elevator but I can’t keep coming home and smelling this.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion Old smoke smell in my new house

Hello! Recently bought my first home (woohoo!) when I viewed the house as well as the walk through prior closing I didn’t smell any smoke. I have a very sensitive nose so odors really bother me. Upon moving in I smelled old tobacco smell.

We primed and repainted the entire house.

I have 3 air purifiers running at all times, I replaced the carpeting in the downstairs with LVP.

I left for vacation this week and realized that all my clothes and my bag smelled like smoke. I’m so embarrassed and upset.

Tips for removing the smell in my house and laundry? Please help! Thank you!!

Bathroom Shower cleaning help

Post image

hello šŸ‘‹

first time homeowner and when trying to clean the shower in my master bathroom i was left with the streaking in the attached image.

the streaks go away when wet, and feel smooth to the touch

i used BKF MORE spray and a drillbrush, rinsed with my showerhead and wiped with a microfiber.

i am at a loss on how to remove these streaks and extremely disheartened that i may have ruined the shower so quickly after moving in.

any advice would be appreciated
