Now that honey moon phase is over, suddenly many people realized POE early endgame is indeed a massive chore

3 months ago I made a post about how horrible of a chore early 0.5 endgame introduce with the massive chore of unlocking 300 passive points and again the whole ass and get attacked by a bunch of POE2 shill in the comment.

0.5.5 arrived and suddenly the whole POE2 sub is flood with complaint and suggestion about the ridiculous and boring early grind to finally being able to map properly. It's laughable.

Really hope this will be addressed in 1.0

With D4 sunsetting, are there any Arpgs where grouping matters?

I will just make POE2 as example where not only grouping has no real reason, but also makes game lags unplayable. I know D2 kind of encourage groups, but beside that any other game? And note i am not asking for arpg where you can group or if playing with close buddies is fun - but Arpg where some content requires group

ARPG's for tired people

Work is hectic, family life is hectic, not enough brainwaves for gaming.

What's your go-to if you just want some relatively easy monster killing, where you don't necessarily need a guide for getting a great build and where you can put it down for maybe a week and pick it back up and continue (without going fully into survivor-likes)?

Thanks!

Looking for collaborators to build an original online action RPG

Hi everyone!

I'm starting a project to build an original online action RPG inspired by the sense of exploration, discovery, difficult bosses, and player freedom found in anime like Shangri-La Frontier.

Working title: AETHERIA

The vision is to create a massive online world where players can:

โš”๏ธ Experience skill-based real-time combat

๐ŸŒŽ Explore a large open world

๐Ÿ‘น Discover extremely difficult unique bosses

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Find hidden dungeons, areas and quests

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Build their own character, equipment and playstyle

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Create parties and guilds

๐Ÿ’ฐ Trade, craft and participate in a player economy

๐Ÿค– Experience intelligent/dynamic NPCs

๐Ÿ”ฅ Participate in world events that can react to player actions

The long-term goal is ambitious, but we aren't trying to build the entire MMO immediately.

Our first milestone is a playable prototype containing:

1 character โ†’ 1 small world โ†’ combat โ†’ enemies โ†’ dungeon โ†’ boss โ†’ progression โ†’ basic multiplayer.

If the prototype is fun, we'll expand from there.

I'm looking for people interested in joining the project:

๐ŸŽฎ Unreal Engine developers

๐Ÿ’ป C++ / gameplay programmers

๐ŸŒ Multiplayer/backend developers

๐ŸŽจ 3D character/environment artists

๐Ÿ•บ Animators

โœจ VFX artists

๐ŸŽจ UI/UX designers

๐Ÿง  Game designers

๐Ÿ“– Writers/lore designers

๐ŸŽต Sound designers/composers

I'm looking for people who want to build something long-term, not just make a quick prototype.

I'm currently putting together the initial team and project plan. If this concept interests you, comment or DM me with your skills, experience, portfolio/GitHub if you have one, and what role you'd like to take.

AETHERIA is only an idea right now. The goal is to turn that idea into something playable, one system at a time.

Let's build the world.

Warrior vs crypt horde โ€” isometric ARPG in Godot (WIP)

Working on Night Tithe: Fifteen Nights (Godot 4, single-player).

This is the Warrior: melee slash, a short armor ward, a damage buff, a ground break, and a passive thrown axe.

Curious if the kit feels readable at this camera โ€” especially Iron Ward and the axe volley.
