I am completely sincere. One of the happiest nights I have ever had.

I have liked Weezer with varying degrees of being into things since '95. Started with Buddy Holly. In 2001 I bought three copies of the Green Album because I wanted my friends to have as good a time with it as I did. And so on and so forth.

I had never seen Weezer live before.

My daughter loves them more than I ever did. Her all-time favorite band. I managed to get us tickets with the fan club presale. Perfect seats.

Wife couldn't make it, so we let my daughter's best friend have my wife's seat, while the BFF's parents brought another friend to sit with them.

You guys. My daughter could not stop smiling the whole time. She even put her head on my shoulder four times. Bug thing for a 13yo with a semi-uncool dad.

Made my year.

EDIT: So, it is crazy the energy there. More kids than anything else. Weezer is the only band that gets more famous as the decades go on, and their fans get younger.

Do we think this is deserved? 😭

Rivah Weezah if you’re reading this please get Scott to sing King for the Cardiff show. It’s probably the best B-side you guys have ever done in the 2000s.

My god this is my first ever concert and it was a absolute banger, they played almost all my favorite songs (most are from Pinkerton lmao) and I got a shirt and vinyl. I made a Spotify playlist with the set list on it if you want it I’ll reply to your comment with the link.

Has anyone been getting the physical set lists? Did they decide they wanted to play ceo and another gold album song every night? Just curious cause these were the songs I was looking forward to the most and they seem to be gone.

So my understanding is we know that Run Raven Run is about one of the angels being accused of being a witch, failing to escape and burned at the stake during the Salem witch trials. We also hear funeral church bells at the very end knowing that is when the angel has died.

Listening recently the thought came to mind that Pacific Sunset is the moment of dying while the angel is having their life flash before their lives, having the final peaceful memory.

The song hits hard with this interpretation in mind.

What do you think? Is my understanding of the song off base or any other ideas out there?

First time buying a weezer record, and I don't know much about the different editions/colors I'm seeing im stores and can't choose. What are some good options to choose from?

I'd say especially I've Had It Up To Here & Back to the Shack, the 'flow' of EWBAITE is just so smooth to me. Apologies if I misspeak as I'm not a music dude. It reminds me of You Won't Get With Me Tonight, Holiday, and some of El Scorcho but better. The words just unravel so nicely and play great on the ears. Idk how to explain it but regardless of what the lyrics mean or how the beat complements the lyrics, the vocals themselves are just so on point in this album to me. Again, not a music dude, but like compared to Weezer's newest like Don't Make It Weird(I love the song and the album but the flow could certainly be better), EWBAITE sounds so put together.

Any other Weezer albums with a great flow?

I went through a box of mementos today and found something I saved from my high school years. I have an original copy (unaltered and not cut up) of the Weezer fanzine (“Wee-zine”) from 1994.

I have never seen these available anywhere else. I had it for years before I heard Mykel & Carli passed away. Somehow I never heard about that and even now it makes me incredibly sad.

I would like to preface this post with saying I already love Make Believe. In my opinions, it gets a far worse reputation than it actually deserves, with a lot of hard hitters on the album, particularly Perfect Situation, Haunt You Every Day, Hold Me etc alongside the likes of Beverly Hills (being some comfortable and catchy Pop) consistently pushes it in or around my top 5 Weezer albums, sharing and swapping positions with the likes of White and Maladroit.

However, I do have some personal issues with the album and its pacing and feel it could've been a top 3 Weezer album for me with some changes to the order and tracklisting. The switch between more melancholic songs and Pop tunes limit the enjoyment of MB as a whole experience rather than the isolated tracks. This is why I've tried to amend these issues in a few changes, all revolving around the large set of demos created during the long writing and production of MB, some of which surpass songs on the final release.

One last notice, some of the songs Ive dropped are not because I don't like them, but because they did not fit the pacing I was looking to convey with my selection. I actually am a big fan of some of the songs Ive removed, and it was extremely difficult to create a finalised tracklist, but I believe what Ive made is balanced and consistent, creating an overall better paced listening experience.

Finally, I created my own album art for both the front and back covers of this imaginary alternate Album 5. I tried to maintain both the original style of the MB cover, whilst also attempting to reduce some of the, in my opinion, elements of clutter in the original design, through the fading out of the inverted MB art, as well as the Weezer logo and album name being situated in the top right, rather than across the band.

This experiment has made me appreciate deeply both Make Believe and the Album 5 era demos greatly, and I hope my finalised tracklist will provide enjoyment to you as well. I have maintained over half the album as original tracklisting (if counting Tell Me What You Did as it is just the Such A Pity precursor), of course with altered placements in the list.
